FCP Bob 1,321
He made enough money during his career that he should be able to pay this debt off you would think. My understanding is that casinos only make a criminal complaint as a last resort and give people a chance to pay them back.http://ca.sports.yahoo.com/nba/news;_ylt=A...p&type=lgns LAS VEGAS (AP)—Former NBA star Antoine Walker is facing criminal charges over $822,500 in gambling debts to three Las Vegas casinos.Documents provided Tuesday by the Clark County district attorney accuse the 32-year-old Walker of three felony counts of writing bad checks. Prosecutors say he failed to make good on 10 checks totaling $1 million written to Caesars Palace, Planet Hollywood and the Red Rock Resort.Walker’s agent and a lawyer in Las Vegas didn’t immediately respond Tuesday to messages.Prosecutor Bernie Zadrowski told the Las Vegas Sun that Walker repaid $178,000 of the debts incurred last July to January.Walker last played for the Minnesota Timberwolves in 2008. He was an All-Star with the Boston Celtics and won an NBA championship in 2006 with the Miami Heat.
Pot Odds RAC 23
I dunno. They can be pretty heavy handed. Remember Sir Charles and Pacman last year with similar situations? The authorities were on them in a heartbeat with Felony Arrest warrants. They seem to (over?) use the public announcement of these high profile arrest warrants to get quick action (and HUGE "processing fees").

CaneBrain 95
first off, Toine was a good NBA player. Bad shot selection yes but he was incredibly versatile. Probably would have been even better if he was not such a doughboy. On the Heat in 2006, he was very good about accepting being a role player. He was also a stud at UK.I met Toine in Vegas about a year ago. He was staying in a suite next door to me and got locked out so he asked to borrow my cell phone to call his buddies. I also played craps with him for a bit....he played super high. He was a really nice guy. He also made a shitload of money in the NBA so I cant imagine he cant pay off 800K. But I guess anything is possible. He did not strike me as the MC Hammer type. Also, bad shot selection does not correlate to gambling problems. come on. Michael Jordan was the biggest degenerate gambler ever and he was pretty good at the basketball.
