nosoul 0
-'500 BB's is plenty for the micro games': lol. Sorry Daniel, I still think you are completely misguided. Getting through a few levels using your rules is likely, but at some stage you will have a bad run where you lose the 8 buy-ins.I'm kind of torn on this one. I ran 60 cents up to $1200 in 9 months playing primarily 7-stud and NLHE. In that stretch, I lost my buy-in maybe 10 times. And I never lost it below the $0.25/$0.50 level. Granted, I played ultra-conservative and could easily be moved off a hand if I didn't have a monster, but I still had an 8 bb/hr win rate. Like DN said in the blog, it's amazing how well they'll pay you off, so there's really no need to take risks on iffy situations. It may not have been a maximum win rate, but it had minimal risk.I was playing with the fear of going broke, as that would've meant going back to the freerolls to get more money, but I was still able to slowly build a bankroll up and never did go broke. Never even came close, actually. The main difference between my approach and DN's is that it doesn't sound like he'll move back down. Ever. I would bounce between levels when I moved up. If I lost some at a new level, I'd move back down until I made that money back and then try again.

I would bounce between levels when I moved up.I agree that this is a big issue.....something tells me that when Daniel is a bit higher, e.g 10/25cNL or 25/50cNL there might be a new rule introduced to address this. heshkak 0
GL Daniel. I'm looking to bring some life into my game, and am going to "play along at home" following Daniel's rules (but starting with $125). I totally disagree with the guys here that say the bankroll/5 rule is not enough. For example if you start with $125 and lose your buyin every session, then you would effectively buy in 20 times before going bust. I'm adding one rule for Multi tabling: In order for multi tabling, any subsequent table started must be bought in assuming the first table is a complete loss. BigMagic 0
Daniel kicked some serious arse his first session of .2/.5, he tripled his starting stack going from $5 to around $14 give or take a few cents. I thought the table was soft except for one guy. I was really impressed with his reraise allin with A,3 on a board full of overcards. Very impressive Daniel! Daniel commented he thought the table was tough, I didn't think so since he mostly got away with min raising, on the hand that he made two pair (A,3) I thought sure he had 4,5 the board was something like 23KAJ maybe the the river was lower but the cutoff played very aggressive on the river, he could have had a set or a higher two pair, I'd like to hear your thought process on that hand (if you had a read or just pot commited). How about a FCP, only .2/.5 table Dan with a table limit of say 5 rotations so more people could get in. I was 5th in line and never made it. I had six tables open for an hour waiting for ya but just missed. Great job! What Happened to ALL STRATEGY at Pokerroad.com?
nosoul 0
What a monster start with a $9 win in session one! The play seemed way tougher though... That's one thing I'm curious to find out from this experiment. Will you hit a level that you feel plays similar to the games you usually play in? By the time you hit the $0.10/$0.25 or $0.25/$0.50 level, will you encounter a bunch of players who are good enough to hang with the big boys but just don't have the money to play against them? There are players there that can play with him but the level as a whole is soft.DN's also been beating the Big Game at Bellagio, so theoretically those guys are making mistakes he doesn't make as well. The question is, at what level will he feel the level of competition is similar to what he sees in those higher buy in games? Granted, it's extremely likely it won't happen. Just curious if it will.My experience was that the games got tougher and tougher until the $0.50/$1 games, but then the $1/$2 games got soft again. It'd be interesting to know, from DN's view, what the different levels are comparable to.
TheDonk1989 0
I'm grinding my bankroll at the .02/.05 tables also. I play on 4 at a time though. I started at $50 and now im at $82 after about 2 weeks of playing on and off. Look me up sometime Dan, TheDonk1989. Just hop onto one of my tables. That would be great. rayen 0
Can guarentee that even at 0,05-0,10 you will encounter good players ... actually many many nits around at those levels who wont throw away money easily playing top 10% hands ... though many players cant let go of hand like AA or KK which is easy to find out when they have it .... also lot of players that will checkraise flushdraws ...also seen players calling me down basically based on how fast I bet the chips thinking I was stealing the pot. Logo1285 0
I am the one who gave Daniel his big session today. AA vs KK on a K 3 6 8 5 board. I believe he left with 16.29. I might have played the hand bad but only Daniel would be able to tell you lol. I called a 4 bet hoping to trap and trapped myself. Oh well. NH sir =)

FtWorthKid 0
With all due respect Daniel, you're not going to turn $10 into a hundred grand if you are playing the same stupid donks on Pokerstars that the rest of us have to play. Be sure and let us know how often you get drawn out on by some dumb ass who insists on calling you down with his two outer, only to hit his set on the river with one pull at the deck.Nobody will ever convince me that even the mighty Kid Poker can overcome the absolutely inexplicable long shots that seem to connect endlessly when playing in these low limit, online donk-a-paloozas. If the two-bit players don't get you the grind will as the rake will eat away at your roll as you try to outmaneuver the online mine field.
Krad.ro 0
i sure hope he does cuz then i don't have to read the endless whines of those bad players who learned poker from TV and can't adjust to micros to save their lives.
