steve7stud 0
One thing that I often find amusing is when tournament reporters see tourney "pro"s stacked together and automatically assume that is a tough table. Don't get wrong, I have seen some tables that were full of insane talent. But just because someone does well in no limit tournaments, does not mean that they know how to play other games well. Eddie Murphy is one my favorite comedic actors. But I don't know how well he would do in a war movie.Razz is not NLHE. (Just a random example)Sometimes it seems like they take the poker celebrity thing a bit too far in regard to actual talent in a game. Then again, I could be wrong.

SlapStick 0
Galfond seemed to dance around the topic when the interview was asking how intimidated he was by the stars at the final table, he managed to avoid bringing it up.

Zach6668 513
The worst players at my tables in the LHE tourneys were the "name" and "TV" pros.Marcel Luske cold called my UTG raise, the first hand I'd played at his table, with QJo... that's just not a good play.

I think you could make a good argument that Chan, DN and Juanda are all very good to great PLO players as well. I was definitely impressed by Galfond though. Very good PLO skills. I was definitely impressed by Galfond though. Very good PLO skills.DN admits that PLO is not his best game and with all three of those players I don't think they get many hands of PLO in and I think that is a major factor with Degenyamine and OMG getting tons of hands in with PLO taking over as the go to game on the net. Also they both had big stacks which is probably even more important. Also it makes sense that the media would cover the celeb players, because not that many people probably know who the hell the Razz or Omaha hi/lo specialists are, but they could just say "x table has a lot of known players" rather than calling a bunch of good NL players a tough table. I agree more that the stacks made Galfond and DB so dangerous. From what I can tell, having a big stack in a PLO tourney is even more of a boon than in a NLHE tourney.I will agree there is a great chance that Galfond and Benyamine were the best PLO players at the table....but I think the difference between them and the three I mentioned is not a big gap. While I understand Steve7's point and agree completely....in this case I think the hype was justified. Even Hellmuth is not a "bad" PLOer I think...although he was probably one of the relative donks at that stacked table.

Vick12 0
Galfond is a very goot Omahahahaha player and plays in the nosebleed games on Tilt. So his win should hardly be a shocker and I would say his Omahahaha game is better than almost everyone at that FT other than Benyamine. However...I am no Omahahahah expert, but I do know that getting deal AAxx like a brazzillion times at the FT will likely earn u a chance to win it all.Cane...Hellmuth is a putrid Omahahah player. In NLH his ability to trap u for all the chips is a much better weapon than in PLO. It was comical how often he either A. Called a position raise from BB preflop...and then check fold flop or B. Limped in position instead of raising.Again...hardly an Omahahahaha expert, but this is by definition weak/tight losing poker. Then any time he showed any aggression...they instamucked w/ Phil then showing some monster like AAQ10 etc.

looshle 6
Luske was one of the worst name players I've played with in LHE. He limped in UTG with J9o and T9o.Then this hand comes up. He limps, mp limps, I limp 2 black fives, blinds come. Flop 5d3c2c. BB leads, he calls, fold, I raise, BB 3 bets, he calls I call. Turns Qc. They both check to me, I bet, they both call. River Tc. BB checks, he bets, I fold, BB folds and he shows 7c6c.
