The great thing about this game at these stakes is that when things aren't going well, all it takes is one good hand and a maniac donk to play right into you. MP1 was a guy who had been playing the "push every hand and hope the poker gods come through with cards" strategy since he sat down.PokerStars Pot-Limit Omaha/8, $0.05 BB (8 handed) Poker-Stars Converter Tool from FlopTurnRiver.com (Format: FlopTurnRiver)MP2 ($2.20)CO ($10.26)Button ($4)SB ($4.79)BB ($15.21)UTG ($3.30)Hero ($6.12)MP1 ($14.32)Preflop: Hero is UTG+1 with Jclub.gif, Kclub.gif, 5heart.gif, Aheart.gif. 1 fold, Hero calls $0.05, MP1 calls $0.05, MP2 calls $0.05, CO calls $0.05, 1 fold, SB completes, BB checks.Flop: ($0.30) Qclub.gif, Tclub.gif, Kdiamond.gif(6 players)SB checks, BB checks, Hero bets $0.1, MP1 raises to $0.3, MP2 calls $0.30, CO folds, SB folds, BB folds, Hero raises to $1.5, MP1 raises to $3, MP2 calls $1.85 (All-In), Hero raises to $7.47, MP1 calls $3.07.Turn: ($6.75) Qspade.gif(3 players, 1 all-in)River: ($6.75) 8heart.gif(3 players, 1 all-in)Final Pot: $15.99Results:Hero has Jc Kc 5h Ah (High: straight, ace high). Tell me about it. My heart dropped into my shoes temporarily when the second Q fell on the turn, so I was quite relieved when we went to showdown and I came out on top. That said, I was only really concerned about MP2 so I still stood a good shot at the big side pot against MP1 even if MP2 took the main pot. This was one hand where using the HUD really came in handy - MP1's stats were something like 90/75/9.00 in the dozen or so hands since he sat down. So I knew I just needed one good hand to trap his ass.

i've noticed that FTP now has omaha8/stud8 mixed tables. i think it would be great if these games got going. if anybody wants to play me HU at one of them anytime to try to start something i will play up to 2/4. if those games took off they would be a goldmine. my only stipulation is it has to be at a high traffic time to try to attract other players.PM me if you're interested.

Yikes, I'm not so sure about that last one. I don't like committing so much of my stack PF in this game unless I'm short because starting hand values are so close in O8. I'd rather build the pot a bit and then see how my hand shapes up on the flop. After the flop the hand basically plays itself but only because you committed so much of your stack PF.

yeah at these stakes with dead money in the pot I don't mind flipping for stacks with a hand like that, if I was deeper I would've played it different. :club:

FYI........hey guys not sure if you've ever played on or still do play at AP, but the PLO8 games going on there are crazy soft. I'll post some hands later when I get home, but the play was just atrocious! people playing any four raising with two pair paying off hands with hands that shouldn't have even seen the flop. There wasn't many tables going at the .5/.10 PL level, but the ones that were well lets just say they were juicy. They did have several going at the $2/$4 limit going not sure if they were near as soft though as I've only turned the free $10 they gave me in to $20 so far.

This is my nominee for "Best played hand of the year". Also a cautionary tale of why you shouldn't pay so much darn attention to those silly 10 cent 360 man Stars NLHE turbos when you have a couple o8b cash tables open lol.Wow... Didn't even see the SF... I even told him "nh" in the chat box, then freaked out when the chips went my way. We've all "lost the minimum". LOL my thoughts on this hand, in order:1. i guess he means he should fold preflop. meh, that's not that bad, you can play that hand profitably if the villains are terrible.2. i mean, he paid off fairly light, but it's not bad, at those limits, he could easily have a worse flush.pause, pause, pause.pause, pause, pause.3. You've gone from .02-.05 PLO8 to 1/2 and 2/4 FLO8? What's up with that?
People actually fold at 1/2 and 2/4.. It's quite lucrative.I went from dollar o8b tournaments to 1/2 2/4 FLO8. ;)2 things: 1. ) its a split pot game. 2. ) it's pretty TAG compared to .25/.50 and .50/1. You'll see guys fold for 2 orbits and then refuse to lay down AAxx. If you play a drinking game where you have to take a shot every time it folded 10 handed to the blinds, you'd be in for a swell time. I don't think I've ever actually lost a buy in over a session. I'd probably slit my wrists if I did.

I am rolled fine for $1 $2 L and $2 $4 was just a see how dif this game plays experiment. I just dropped to .02 .05 one day cause i wanted to play some PL for awhile and stayed there cause it seems to be a pretty ez way to boost your roll (even if it is $8-$12 a session) :club:

thought you'd like the step up Cappy. 6 max is so much more fun than full ring. People are much more creative and it's not just bet the nutz everytime over and over
