Jadaki 0
but you ignore how much he resented because he achieved it in TV commercials before he did it on the courthere's something to think about - if the Bulls don't make an amazing discovery with scottie pippen - how many titles does Jordan win?No way of knowing.I know he was resented, a lot of it was for being a rookie starting the all star game. Things have changed though, a rookie getting into the AS game isn't a huge shock anymore.
keith crime 8
Think about all the hype around the dunk contests back then - Jordan was huge first for the dunking commercials - we couldn't get enough of that stuff back then - the young people loved the fun of Jordan - then it turned to backlash when Vince Carter was nothing but dunk contests
Jadaki 0
James is a hypocrite...This article brings up an interesting point we skipped in our discussion about James stomping of the court.Funny, but James stayed on the court to make sure the Detroit Pistons and Atlanta Hawks paid respect to him. As it turns out, there’s one thing allowed to happen at the end of a playoff series: Everyone bows down and kisses the King’s ring. Only, LeBron doesn’t have a ring. He’s never won a game in the NBA Finals.
Jadaki 0
Sorry Cleveland fans, looks like another year of Brown at the helm. Mike Brown in danger of losing his job as Cleveland Cavaliers coach? That's news to his bosses.Multiple sources in the organization discounted a report from Web site Pro Basketball News, which on Thursday cited "several sources close to the situation" as saying the Cavs front office was in "disarray" and "divided" over whether Brown should continue as coach."All rumors are completely false. Mike Brown will be the Cavaliers head coach next season," a team source told Chris Broussard of ESPN The Magazine. The Cavs lost the Eastern Conference finals to the Orlando Magic in six games after winning a club-record 66 games in the regular season, spoiling a widely anticipated Cavs-Lakers NBA Finals matchup. The 39-year-old Brown was a runaway winner as the NBA's coach of the year. In his fourth season with the Cavs, he led them to a franchise-best 66-16 mark, and his 211-117 career regular-season record is the best of any Cavs coach. Source

fleung22 1
I think Mike Brown is a good coach. Defensively he's fantastic and this year he added more offense to his arsenal. Probably could use an offense coordinator but I thought he did a good job of maximizing his talent.

BigDMcGee 3,355
second time i saw you write that... had to look it up.first deffinition i got....-Any of several large, web-footed sea birds of the family Diomedeidae that have the ability to remain aloft for long periods.-while reading the bold, i thought 'makes since so far....'while reading teh italic, i thought 'wait, confused....'while reading the underlined, i though 'oh ok, wrong definition for sure...'LOL An albatross is also an historic symbol of bad luck or giant burden to be bornehttp://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Albatross_%28metaphor%29The word albatross is sometimes used to mean an encumbrance, or a wearisome burden.[1] It is an allusion to Samuel Taylor Coleridge's poem The Rime of the Ancient Mariner (1798).In the poem, an albatross starts to follow a ship – being followed by an albatross was generally considered an omen of good luck. However, the titular mariner shoots the albatross with a crossbow, which is regarded as an act that will curse the ship (which indeed suffers terrible mishaps). To punish him, his companions induce him to wear the dead albatross around his neck indefinitely (until they all die from the curse, as it happens). Thus the albatross can be both an omen of good or bad luck, as well as a metaphor for a burden to be carried (as penance).Though I had read Rime Of the Ancient Mariner in high school ( and talked about the metaphor of it) i really started using it in speech after an Episode of dead wood, when Steve the Drunken racist, goes on a rant that N-bombs are an albatros around the neck of the white man ( or something of the sort) and I thought that was a particularly funny and weird phrase, so I've been calling people who are dead weight ( or um.. deadwood, pardon the pun) an "albatros" ever since. It's an dated literary reference to be sure. And Shaqatros makes me giggle.

babylondonks 5
I think the Cavs really miss Joe Smith. They'd be a much scarier team if they'd nabbed McDyess or Sheed.

CaneBrain 95
After watching last night's game, I am convinced the Cavs are better this year than last year. It has nothing to do with Shaq....JJ Hickson's increased role has been amazing for their offense. That was a great draft pick by them and it is going to pay dividends this year. keith crime 8
shaq actually held dwight howard to 1 point the other nightthe refs helped a little but... I am sort of disappointed that Lebron refuses to use his size in the post still
