Back down under huh? You in Australia or New Zealand? I have a client form new zealand that is a photographer, he is funny as hell just looks at the world in a whole different way than American. My Aunt flys for United Airlines and she has taken her family to New Zealand many many time and absolutely loves it.As far as the rest of the forum for the first year or so I stuck around here in General Poker and read your buddies blog now and then, but as I started looking around some good discussion on politics, religion, life, finance, etc. have come up and I like the site much more that I have started to participate in those.Hope to see you around, becarful it is addicting especially when a heated discussion pops up.(Friendly advice, ignore Erik Rylannd, he will try to be your best friend, in fact he probably already thinks he knows you.....beware :club: )

There's a reason that Kirk is "Rookie" of the Year in my book. Seriously...I haven't met the guy, but he seems to be one of the coolest people on the circuit.Kirk, welcome to the forums. Got a question for ya. Did you find time to do much hiking/tramping while you were in NZ? I've recently become a little fascinated with the prospect.

Kirk, one of the funniest things I have ever seen was when you were talking about DN when you first saw him in Australia and you though people were kidding that they wanted his autograph. It was classic, and so true. Its one thing to love poker and enjoy watching it on TV, and ovioulsy DN is a captivating personality, that is why he is so popular above his accomplishments, but for people to want autogrpahs of a bunch of degenerate gamblers is extremley ironic and funny.I would enjoy meeting any number of so called poker pros, but it would be more to pick their brain or because they seem like a cool person.Anyway, very funny.

did ton of hiking, thats why im not computer saavy didnt use computer down in nz for a long time. Milford sound trek in south island is the nuts
I'm pretty interested in the concept of "Te Araroa" (The Long Pathway). For those that aren't aware, it's basically the NZ equivalent of the Appalachian Trail and is supposed to be done next year. Trying to decide if I have the will-power/time/friends to attempt it. I think it'd be a great adventure.

I gotta say the Kirk Morrison story is made for poker.Guy is playing well, making money but quits to go on a walk about, get his head straight.Comes back years later and hasn't lost any of his skills, in a very very short time he is a seriously good player. Now if we can just find a guy to play Kirk in the movies..........

wow kirk types like my DAD!!saw kirk railing DN on the feature table at the wsope, kirk was outside the room watching the screen, second DN stands up from the table and looks around kirk runs in and they have a quick discussion where I imagine DN's getting a second opinion.Pretty cool watching these two & knowing a little about their history. Can easily imagine them back in the day sitting at the same table keeping everybody happy while taking their money.
