Babying 613
Football and hockey are hardly the same. I agree since so much parity in the nfl.
serge 904
Or Dermott for that matter...not for Nash and McDonagh. I'd rather have Marner than Nash now and forever. McDonagh is a current upgrade over Dermott, assuming he returns to form when traded, but the Leafs would be better off sticking with the Shanaplan. It's tempting to make the deal that gets you closer now, but I think they're better off waiting. Let these guys get some more experience in the playoffs. I really think losing in the playoffs is one of the best lessons to learn how to win. I don’t disagree. I think it’s a progression. Remember last year we took Washington as far as we can take them. They learned a lot there. I like to see us win at least two rounds this year. I don’t think we need to make a huge trade. But we can add a couple of veterans without trading too much of future. Dubey 1,035
Big test tonight against a very tough Stanley Cup contender..We have been hot, lets get on a roll and finish this strong.. I think since Dubey's rant we lost one game.. Lol... yeah since my rant when they made most of the changes that I said they should make, we have lost one game
serge 904
Another tough game for us..Columbus is in need of wins, but a bit of a break we get them back to back and Bob will not be in net it looks like.. The schedule to finish the season is pretty favorable..
serge 904
Another great and exciting game. However 57 shots against isn’t going to get it done most nights. Amazing that we are 20 pts clear of a playoff spot.

serge 904
??? I may have worded it wrong. We are 20 pts IN a playoff spot.
Dubey 1,035
Leafs have one of the easiest schedules remaining, Bruins have one of the toughest. Home ice in the playoffs would hugely improve our chances.
serge 904
Definetely. Is catching Tampa for first out of the question? We still have two games against them. It would take a pretty solid finish and some mediocre results from the teams ahead but it’s not inconceivable that we can end up first overall.
serge 904
It may sound a bit far fetched, but why not..Freddie for MVP? Hockey News writer Matt Larkin makes a case. http://www.thehockeynews.com/news/article/why-frederik-andersen-deserves-serious-hart-trophy-consideration Who else is in running? Kucherov is having a great year, but so is Stamkos.. Kessel, Malkin and Crosby are having great years, but does one stand out? Mackinnon? His team might miss playoffs. While Matthews is having a great year and is almost a point a game, he is the highest ranked player on team in points and his 44th in the league. If he hadnt missed the 10 games, maybe he is challenging for Art Ross. Probably doesnt happen, but he should get some consideration..Freddie showed last night, a hot goalie can take you far in the playoffs...
digitalmonkey 929
So Colorado might miss the playoffs. Why is that relevant? COL is 9 points behind TOR with 3 games in hand FWIW.

MapleLeafpoker 1,462
I went to the game last night. I did not lose my hat. I need clarification. did you toss your hat, and get it back, or did you never throw it in the first place?
iBeaver 409
I need clarification. did you toss your hat, and get it back, or did you never throw it in the first place? I've thrown my hat twice. Lost the first one forever. Didn't know I could get it back. Second one was during a Darren McCarty hat trick. I went back the next day to pick it up because I really liked the hat and they went back to get it and they said Darren was bummed I came to pick it up because he liked it and was going to keep it.

Dubey 1,035
I'm interested if he's going to directly replace Polak. If he pushes out one of the young guys, no thanks.
MapleLeafpoker 1,462
If he doesn't cost you a top 9 player as your team is currently constructed, I would get him in a second. He's only 28, comes with a fairly small cap hit at 4.7mill for this year and next. I would seriously consider Kapanen+1st+??? Leivo? if that gets it done with NYR. If they want Nylander/Marner, thats a hard pass. I love Kapanen, but this feels like the right player for this team to me as an outsider.
