I give myself a 2. I generally don't get upset by bad beats. I understand it is part of poker. Then again, I play much lower online than live, but my live number is only 3-4. The only time I got to a high anger number is when I got robbed on Party. Literally, someone hacked into my account and lost my money, and Party didn't accept responsibility. I will never play there again.

10! Mf'ing 10!Like flopping full house and guy catches miracle card on river to beat me after all in on flop. Then the string of 80% favorites after flop, getting all the money in and losing on river... I haven't kicked my dogs, but they leave the room when i get beat...

About 1200....Dollars worth. I threw my laptop at a wall and watched the little microchips go boom after some schmuck called my KK all in with a freaking A3 offsuit and hit the wheel on the river. I hate fish!!!!

So you mean he flopped a live over-card and a three (or four) to the straight?Wow. What a horrible beat. You should re-evaluate your understanding of poker.

I lost two $20 buy-in's playing $0.25/$0.50 in like 5 minutes.I had KQ, AQx on the flop, Q on the turn, K on the river, by the river I was all-in. Someone had AA, that sucked.A few hands later, I had KK in the big blind, someone raised it to like 10xBB, I reraised all-in, he had AA.BRUTAL luck, I wasn't too happy, but those were only about 5's. I have hit 8 or 9 before.

This is one of the funniest threads I've ever seen. The cat, the home depot story. Damn.I have definitely hit 9. I've woken up with red, swolen knuckles, and one time I slammed my fists down on my desk so hard that my upstairs neighbor called and very soothingly said, "Are you alright?" That's humiliation.I'd love to say I've outgrown it, but I only say that when I'm running good.

Have yet to learn to control the rage after three years. Probably happens once a week. It's a function of knowing too many of the odds. When they come in rapid succession, it just boggles my mind. I get the whole world is against me mentality. Doesn't put me on tilt, but it's definately a leak in my mental game.Oh yeah, and I broke a knuckle punching a mortar block wall in college after a particularly bad beat.

I probably hit an 8 when I flopped the nut flush in a NL cash game, I bet, get re-raised, I re-raise, he goes all in, I call. The flop is all diamonds under a T and he shows pocket queens..no diamond. Turn is a queen, river is a queen. He types "hey, thanks for the free money". This is when I came up with the brilliant idea of inventing a monitor which you can stab someone through. This wouldn't be good for the online poker or online gaming community though. And for whoever said there is no such thing as a bad beat, do you look at a car crash in an optimistic manner? Odds say it will happen to you, but you're not going to be happy when it does. Same logic applies here.

Rage: Maybe it once hit a 6 or a 7, routinely it won't pass a 1 or 2 at the most (I guess that would make it anger not rage at that level). And recently even this has decreased, I now realize that most losses are because of my inadequate play not my opponents. Too many people look at boos and odds and numbers and blame the other player for calling -- it is very rarely their fault.Stress it may reach a 7 or 8 -- generally when a car payment is due or I need a roll for a game quickly and need to exponentially grow my bankroll. On a side note anyone who actually experiences rage playing poker regularly should just quit -- poker is about self discipline and focused aggression, when they progress into B&M games if they regularly get upset at the keyboard they will be eaten alive after the third bad beat where the only place to express your frustration is the pot.Stress can have a positive or negative impact on your game, you need enough to be serious and alert but not enough to distract you so that you lose focus.my 2 cents

Played in High School, College, and the service, and don't remember ever being upset over any hand. Then, after a 30 year break, I took up online poker and it's going to be the ruination of my blood pressure. Multi-tabling is a great stress reducer--don't have as much time to get upset.

I'd say 5 was the worst I have ever been...for some reason I have a hard time taking online poker seriously :? In the casino I'd still say about a 5 is the worst I have ever gotten...I guess I am pretty calm for the most part. And I only get upset every now and then...maybe once every few weeks. I know that bad beats will happen and if one does I try and take it in stride. I also realize that HE includes all 5 community cards and I have a hard time understanding how people get so frustrated over getting beat on the river when they know it's part of the deal. When you sit down to play poker you should know there are gonna be people who chase anything and have different styles than you do. Why get upset that they beat you at the river? It's part of the game. Who are you to say how they are SUPPOSED to play? Sorry to go on and on I have just been dealing with whiners at the table a lot lately and it's been annoying me to no end.

conducting research, and thought i'd ask the FCP members as well. How many of you have ever experienced rage or stress from online poker?.please give me a number from 1 to 10 of your rage due to bad beats etc. from online poker. (or even computer problems, in general)from 1 to 10,   1 being your soo calm that u just farted. and 10  is the result of holes in your walls. And last.. how many times do these issue arise?.. every day?.. once a week?.. hardly??thanks
5Once every 300~ hands. So the amount of days varies, but suppose I play 100 hands a day.Once every 3 days then, 5 for anger.

I havent read page 2 yet so i dont know if someone's mentioned it, but you have a self selection sample error if this is for anything serious. People who have rage are more likely to respond.BTW, 7.

6 tops. I probably have a Phil H moment or worse once every few weeks... Well sometimes I fake Phil H moments to tilt other players too... but...Its all fine and good if you think you can actually say you score a zero.. but then you have no emotion, never play even slightly tired or aggravated, and have never had a bad enough streak... We all know its just poker... or we pretend to know....

I think I'm a 3 now, whenever I take bad beats I shrug it off and continue playing. I guess just got used to it and whenever It happens I just try and think of the times I do win. I used to beat the crap out of my leather chair, kick it, punch it ,knee it, but the screws are loose now and can't be tightened properly, so sometimes when I'm playing the bottom of my chair falls off. :club:

It varies really. Many of these posts are people who have been playing for long enough to experience a "rage" outburst. Yet some also will post their self at a 1, or 2 which is very very low.
