  1. The size of the stacks behind you is paramount to this dilemma, IMO. If any medium large to large big stacks are in the blinds, it will only be either 1.5 bets or 1 bet to call for them, giving them good implied odds to call with almost anything to try and bust the minbetting stack. It would be a shame if we minbetted KQo from UTG, only to have a big stacked BB call with 7h6h and then check-call our jam on a Kc7d6d board. Hence why, IMO, it's either a jam or fold proposition because the name of the game in NLHE is to put maximum pressure on villians to make them have to make a tough and/or ba
  2. I'm probably the only one to do this (and I'm not saying it because of the potential results)....but I check behind on the flop. I think that's the "aggressive" play heads up. You've flopped the world: top pair, flush draw.....you don't want to lose this guy.BUT I also want to keep the pot small as I called a raise. If *I* was the raiser, I would of probably bet/re-raise here. But I check behind on a flop like this with the KdQd as our villian may have AA (or KK and QQ, but unlikely since you have one of each), AQ, or even a set of 7's.......... and I don't want to be check-raised out of m
  3. Came () this close to winning my first one last night. But I have a hand that's bothering me because I think I could of gotten more value out of it and possibly played it to cute (yeah, I got sucked out on later and lost the match because I was always get unlucky at final tables. But that's here or there).$10 dollar MTT online tournament. Started with 78 players. With the blinds and antes at $600/$1200 a man, I have 78K in chips and our villian has 82K. He has been very aggressive heads up, and I just won a 20K pot when I flopped top pair with Q9o and roped him for a pot sized flop bet with

  5. I'm watching this now online. Freakin' hysterical. You can check out the whole episode below:http://www.nbcsports.com/poker/feature1.html
  6. Absolutely, that is why I don't play them. Turbos do benefit those "Kill Phil" players, the MIS (Move-In Specialist) tactic that imploys more preflop play. If you are a good preflop player, these SNGs are for you. The problem is the variance because you often risk your all of your chips so much more, so more bad beats occur (like AK getting cracked by J10, etc).

  8. I like Gabe's poker commentary as he really describes the thinking process for each hand through all 4 levels of poker thinking. As for his jokes, sometimes his impressions can be hit or miss, but the effort is genuine and I appreciate that. Gabe does stand up from time to time and it's pretty good.Norman's problem is he just comes across as trying too hard.
  9. ....fool me once, shame on me. Fool me twice, let me stick it in your bum bum
  10. Gotta love the opening caption in the Matusow vid, "Surrounded by Bad Players. Again." Great use of the period there for comedic effect.Dutch is off his rocker - Pokerwire Amanda is a cutie though
  11. Call the river and cringe as 4 5 ships a huge pot lmao
  12. Bet on the Broncos this week. There are getting 9 points in San Diego, a place where they've played well and have had decent success. The rookie Jay Cutler is starting and could lead to some uncertainty, the fact that San Diego has the best running back in the league hurt too. But it's a division game with a history of close games that has big importance for the NFC West and the AFC. Division vs division underdogs have covered 72% of the time this year. It's going to be a 3 point bloodbath - making the bet a slam dunk, IMO.
  13. I don't mind the turn call..... as long as you shove the river, as it maximizes your chance for profit. You have to at some point sell this as a bluff to your CS Villian. Value betting the river only convinces him of one thing - you made the flush (although if you had crap this would be one hell of a post oak bluff). Might as well shove it all in and at least sell the idea you are trying to buy.Shoving the turn is a good play but it might get this fella away from 109-A10 or a scared pair or Jacks. But it sounds like this fella is a calling station, but only for a fair enough price. This i
  14. Mine was during a $24+2 Guaranteed on Full Tilt.I was down to 9K in chips and the blinds were 250/500/50 ante. I got Q 10 in the SB and jammed on a chip leader, who called with 9 8 Flop 9 8 A Turn 8 River J Poker is fun!
  15. Out in 6th. Would of been huge chip leader at 80K when this guy limped in the cutoff with Ah8h, and I checked in the BB with A9. Flop Ac6c3s. I check-potted his pot bet for 20K and he insta-called.... shipped the 8 on the river.Out when in BvB, I had J9o with 14K left and SB limps. Flop 1098. He checks, I bet pot, he jams, I call and he has QQ and I can't hit. GG me.
  16. I had a similiar problem too. I tried to transfer my money from my cashier account to my DSN poker account, and I got an "exception" screen. Now all my accounts are at $0.00 (can't you guys just let the enivitable happen and let me donkle it all off first?).I'll email you Bob if my money is still in lingo by later tonight or tomorrow.
  17. LMAO @ Deion Sanders in the tangerine suit before the clip doing an ad for a Auto Rental dealer.I understand WHY (police procedure) they are going in full blown with guns and such, I just dont see the need for it. I honestly just think the SWAT team doesn't get enough action, so they were bored on a Friday night and had an itch to break down a door and go, "POLICE!" Great way to use the tax dollars, fellas. If you need any reason not to live in Texas, this is one of them. Jesus. Police take more notice for cash games because of the rake (the percentage taken from the house from each pot)
  18. Flop: check-raise-callTurn: check-callRiver, if board doesn't pair: Check-cry
  19. Early in rebuy tourney, only one has rebought. Blinds at 25/50. I have 3K in my stack. CO, with 3500, raises to 250, and I put him on 10's, 9's, or 8's. So I call in position OTB with QcJc. BB, with 2K, calls too.Flop Qh9c2c. CO bets out 400. I raise to 1K, planning to call a shove. BB folds. CO looks at me with disgust, and calls. Turn 8s. CO checks, and I shove. He then looks at me with disgust again and after 2 minutes, he looks at me and says, "I think you are full of it, Sean" and calls................with JdJs.The river? The beautiful Jh.Ewwww.
  20. I agree. 109s is a possiblity on the second hand as well, but you don't get AA often enough to make it worthy to lay down. You'll be ahead 90% of the time when you get your $$$ in there.
