  1. Sigma Pi's are just littering this board. I, too, was a Sigma Pi at East F-ing Stroudsburg (pledged in 1985).Oh, and I don't care if a 22 year old approves of this or not. I had fun. Friends of mine who were not in a fraternity had fun too.
  2. The answer is, whenever my wife gives me the go ahead.I'm here all week; try the veal.
  3. I wouldn't say it's not about money for me, because when I play, I play to win money; and that drives me.However, I do not play strictly for money. As someone earlier said, the money is kind of a measuring stick for how I'm playing, but I really like to play because I really enjoy the game.I'm wondering if those two paragraphs make sense. I don't play poker as a source of income or to pay bills. If I did, I guess I would play on-line, but on-line just does not appeal to me because I do not believe the same dynamic exists that is present in live games. I see that there are chat boxes, but I
  4. My suggestion is to start drinking, set up a meth lab in your basement and force several local girls into prostitution. Tell them that you needed an outlet.Or, you could either move out and live by your rules, or stay put and live by theirs.
  5. And what the HELL did you do to that polar bear?
  6. every tuesday night, 20 buy-in tourney. No re-buys. 14-18 people. top 3 pays.I the 5 weeks I've attended I have 1 first, 2 seconds, and 1 third. Not bad for someone who only really started playing in April.
  7. I have not played these, but....That is probably a good mindset to go in with, but you need to observe the players at YOUR table and adjust accordingly. Figure out which ones are the dopes, and which ones have game. Adjust your strategy according to who is playing a given pot. I don't think you can go in with a "one size fits all" strategy and think that it is the way to go. Observation and adjustment is your best bet.
  8. A number of people in the circle I'm in have been contemplating that very thing.
  9. I call myself a real poker player because I play poker and I'm not a computer program.I'm not sure that just because you are a fan of something you're supposed to know the name of everyone who has ever participated. That's like saying how can you call yourself a football fan if you don't know who Ray Yakovanis is.Am I to understand that you know everybody listed in the Hendon Mob database? No? How can you call yourself a real poker fan?
  10. I'd be more interested to see Jenna James at the final table, but being that that is not a possibility...

Of all the Wednesday options you go to Frank's? Pizza Time much nicer. (For the record, I think I have only stepped foot in Frank's once or twice many years ago; so I'm only half joking.) 8)
  12. Iveyfan,Was there a reply there? It may have been cut off?
  13. snake, which bars do you play at? i play in a few of these a week...Hey Iveyfan, how's it been. I haven't played in one for e few weeks now; my schedule has not been too forgiving. When I do, I'm usually a lock for the Wednesday game at Pizza Time Saloon. If I may digress, I have been playing regularly now in Tristaterounders' Tuesday night tourneys. It's a good game. I understand you have threatened to make it there at some point, you should. I noticed that there are some empty chairs tonight if you are interested.
  14. That's how it is in PA. The poster from Pittsburgh seemed to describe cash games at the bar; that would be a no-no. There is a company in SE PA that runs a bunch of them and they are run well. You can check out their set up at riverchasers.com. I have been having trouble with their site today so they may be having server problems.
  15. I agree that it would have to be considered the greatest achievement if he can pull it off. I don't understand the Raymer critics not wanting to acknowledge this. You can say that it is the greatest feat without saying that he is the greatest player. It IS possible to seperate the two. IF he can hold on, you MUST give the man his due for the accomplishment.
  16. It's about as much as I figured the topic deserved.
  17. No, Tattaglia's a pimp. He never coulda outfought Santino. But I didn't know until this day, that it was Barzini all along.
  18. I don't play on-line so there are no hours spent there. I play in a small cash tourney once a week now, before that I was playing in bar tourneys. All of this started (me playing poker) more or less in April when I wanted to go to the bar tourney down the street. I told her that I would give her half of anything I won playing poker. Of course I win the tourney (45 people - not bad for a rookie) and she got half the $100 first prize. She was all for it then. She still grumps if I want to go out more than once a week because then she has to deal with the kids and put them to bed, but we rece
  19. No doubt. But I did buy one yesterday and won $21. If I quit now, that's +
  20. Well... this is generally about poker. For you PA residents (and neighbors), the PA lottery last week came out with a new scratch of game called $100,000 Hold 'Em Poker. Among the prizes that you can win are one of 15 entries into a World Series of Poker Tournament ($10,000 entry) including travel and hotel (e.g. AC, New Orleans, Tahoe, etc.). In addition they will be having second chance drawings for 5 more seats if you send in 3 NON-winning tickets (one entry into second chance for each 3 you send in) before a certain date. An interesting way PA is piggy backing on Poker popularity. Now
