  6. I respectfully disagree. With 3+ bodies in front of the net anything can happen. Its pretty much the same as getting it allin with a touch, oesd and flush draw.

Hey brvheart, great idea for a thread btw, much appreciated.I've got issues with a 1992 S10 blazer 4x4 I recently picked up. The driver power window motor seems to work fine, it rolls down, but when you roll it up the window seems to get caught in the track at the front, its like the glass catches in the track somewhere, and doesnt roll up properly. If you help it it goes up fine (if you put pressure on the back of the glass, it rolss up straight). The rivets that hold the regulator/motor assembly in place seem to be a little loose, I'm going to drill those out and replace them with new hardw
  13. Live 1/2 PL game at my local club. Other guy in the hand had about $500 in front of him, I had a little over $400 when the following hand came up. He limps utg (and is a very solid player, by the way), I raise to $10 on the button with AJ, bb calls, so does he. Flop is AA4 with 2 clubs. BB checks, he bets $20, I raise to $60, bb folds, he calls. Turn card is another low club, 7 I think, completing the flush draw. He checks, I check behind him fearing a big check-raise. River is a brick and he checks again. Now I know I'm ahead, and I think he has a small suited ace. He checks to me and I bet $
  14. Prof,I had Ad and Kc, and the 4 and the 9 were the hearts on the board. I know for a fact, 100% that he does not have AK. He would dhave raised it for sure pf.
  15. My usual live $1/$2 PL game, I have about $300, other guy in the hand is ultra-aggressive and tricky, and he has me covered. This particular night I had been playing pretty tight and the only hands of mine he saw at showdown were big. 6 handed, villain is UTG and limps, button limps, I'm in sb with AK and raise to $12. Villain calls, button folds, we're heads up. Flop is 4 9 K with 2 hearts. I lead for $30, he beats me into the pot with a min-raise. Now I had seen him do this with all kinds of draws, but he is also very capable of having a hand here. The only problem is, the only hand I can pu
  16. Finally! After a string of terrible beats at my local $1/$2 PL game I got paid off. My worst beat occurred a few nights ago when I potted preflop with AKs, flopped top 2-pair, and got nailed by a flush on the river. Normally this wouldn't be that bad a beat but he called my 5x BB preflop raise with Q4s. Hahaha.Anyways, last night from EP I raised to $10 with AA and got 5 callers (YIKES!) Flop came Q76 with 2 clubs. I bet pot ($62) got 1 caller. Turn completes flush, he puts me allin for another $30 more, I call and say "did you make your flush?" He says "no." River comes blank and he
  17. I'm in my regular thusday $30 freeze-out, 80 guys this time around. Top 10 pay. I usually love to really shoot up the tournaments, and play ver aggressively, but this time around I just couldn't. I caught a terrible run of cards.. I didn't play the first 25 hands, I've never done that before. I was the ultimate "tighty" at the table. Then I caught QTs otb and open-raised, then took the pot down on the flop of Axx. Not that this has anything to do with the hand in question I just wanted everyone top know that I can play tight if I have to.Anyways, here's the hand. I'm in the bb with $4
  18. The table image I want to portrait always depends on the situation. Whether I'm in a tournament, cash game, home game, it also dpends on what the other people are like.Normally, though, I like people to think I'm a very loose aggressive player. I like to tkae a lot of flops, and raise a lot preflop, which sometimes gives me the image of being a "bad" player. When I end up having to show down a crappy hand, I can change gears and get my monsters called down to the river with mediocre hands.First of all, let me say that I'd rather play with, pleasant, friendly people than grumpy bitchy people
  19. Okay we're down to finall 11 of a 70 person mtt (this is live by the way), $30 buyin, no rebuys. I have $18,000 and the blinds are 2000/4000, so I'm pretty desperate for a hand. I'm in the BB, UTG (very good player) min raises to $8000, folded around to me and I look down at 22, what should I do? He had me covered.I could move allin preflop.I could respect the raise and fold to the good player.I could call the bet and hope to flop trips. What's my move?
  20. If it were me in that situation I'd have been allin in a flash. Only 2 hands are beating you, Q's are a MONSTER 5 handed. If you take that pot down you're probably going on to win, 2nd for sure. But i like to play for the win. Obviously the "safe" play is fold and get outta the way, but I couldn't lay Q's down in that spot, against that drunk guy. With only 31,000 left, and 2000/4000 blinds I'd want to build my shortstack up a bit.
  21. With blind structures like this you have to play fast and hard. The tourny I do every thursday night has blinds that double every 15 min. Usually it's a little less than 1 orbit then the blinds go up. I like to take lots of flops in the first couple levels and get a big stack quickly. This tends to get me in a little bit of trouble because I am normally very aggressive anyways, but when I do hit a couple hands and pull off a good bluff or two I usually make it pretty far.
  22. Now, now boys. There's no need to whore up this thread with "I'm better than you" posts. We're all here to learn things. I posted this to ask if I was missing out on opporitunities in ly game where I COULD GET MORE CHIPS if I checkraised. Isn't this entire forum about getting more chips. I bet you if you asked Daniel thats exactly what he would say. This forum is here to improve people's play, not berate people we've never even met. Please stay on topic.Trav
  23. Well you know I agree with you KK. I'm not a fan pf checkraising, and I rarely ever do it. Playing hard and fast *MOST* of the time is the way to go. Sometimes slowing down (and throwing the odd checkraise) can throw off your good opponenets and show them that you are capabale of anything. Poker is all about deception.Have you guys seen the $1000 NLH event at the WSOP where Gavin Griffin won? He's that 22 year old kid. I think he played AMAZINGLY well, showing that he was capable of making any play with any cards at any time. I can remember one hand where he was in with that British guy
