Hey guys...... I'm not sure what kind of news gets up from Tucson to Phx, but I lost my job yesterday (worked for First Magnus Financial). FMFC was the largest privately held mortgage back in the nation, and a top 10 lender overall. In light of big players like Countrywide being on the ropes as well, we lost the ability to sell off our pipeline of loans, which is the cornerstone of our business. A big part of me coming up next week is getting paid on Monday, but I learned yesterday that our last checks might be delayed. How long, I don't know. So for now, I'm changing my status for next w

Only a few years back, you could ONLY find stud games in casino poker rooms. I guarantee if you asked some "pre-poker-boom" pros if they prefer Stud to Hold Em, the vast majority would say yes... And maybe even DN can give his two cents, because he's been quite vocal about his preference for non-hold em games. Why "would it be nice" to see more hold em on TV? Do you not get enough of it with every other TV show out there? Having any sort of NL or PL element to te HORSE tourney would be lame because at any time a player can get taken out, nullifying everything he did prior to busting out.

I agree with you Frez. His min raise in that spot is simply to juice up the pot a little more before he pops it on the flop... You were fortunate to hit your set and to dodge another club, so it's no real fault to the AA guy. I mean, say the flop came 7 8 2 instead and he bets out, you're probably going to go broke by raising since you think he's weak from the start (thinking, how could 782 flop have helped him?).
