exactly.why raise out of position with a hand like 10-8 off, especially if, as you say, you've been "hammering" on the guy to this point?part of playing good heads up is switching it up often enough that your opponent really never knows what you're doing. if you think you're better than they are after the flop and you have a nice chip lead, why play this hand as you did?

macs can do full tilt. it's about the best/only option left out there.

Former Dealer Fischman Talks About Dealers-nov 14th
DB10-2 replied to 1969_F85's topic in General Poker Forum
i read this and also wondered what fischman was talking about. aside from the player picking up his remaining $50, he fails to describe any other problem with the hand. the dealer's job isn't to see that the $50 goes into the pot unless the first player bets it, no?that said, i think what he's describing here is the dealer's failure to make it clear to everyone in a logical all-in situation that the guy's remaining $50 is still in play. who knows... -
i folded a dummy straight flush from the BB in a live game with little preflop action once.it was a good laydown; the details don't matter.it was one of the best hands i've ever played, since i lost what i felt was the minimum once i was sure i was beat.i find that among the best hands i've played, the big hands i 've folded outnumber the "i trapped a guy for all his chips" hands by about 2.5-1.so, i think i'm OK at NLHE.

Some General Information About The Soft Launch
DB10-2 replied to FCP Bob's topic in General Poker Forum
no mac or java support = bye bye for me & FCP. sad. -
i've had the same problem. initiated a small-ish transfer on 11/9, and it still hasn't cleared.
-
i'm interested. how soft are the sats?

i like the chips at paris.the trop has the worst.

10-handed, when you hold KK, someone will have AA about 6% of the time.
-
also, i always place the buy-in money on the table in front of me, fanned out like you see blackjack dealers do when they sell people chips in the pit. that way if there's a problem the amount i bought is clearly visible.

i always get such a kick out of it when people play O8 hands that can't even make a low.

3 points so far this year. the detroit media is saying that now that mikael samuelsson is healthy zetterberg should pick it up. since when is a guy like samuelsson the key to getting a guy like zetterberg out of a slump?in my league i can't dump zetterberg, not that i would anyway. but damn, he's gotta get it going soon...

i still don't understand mention of derlago at 19 when you have sakic, thornton, and of course stevie y as far better candidates.

there are any number of ridiculous two pair or straight hands that could have you beat, for essentially your tournament life. if the villain didn't flop two pair or a set, he got there (or to a straight) by the end and looked to be trapping. you have plenty of chips left such that if you lay down you can always come back; you have 1800 in this pot and are nowhere near committed. the alternative is going broke with top top as jamie gold says, which in this spot is just a bad play. fold.

a friend of mine was playin g $100NL at the crystal park casino in LA here. specifically, i believe it's in compton and is known alternately as "crystal meth" because it's such a hellhole. apparently he takes his ID and a wad of cash and absolutely nothing else with him, rides the metro which stops nearby, and speaks to no one until he is inside the casino for fear of getting rolled (he doesn't own a car, so the other cardrooms are not an option).i guess this place is so bad that they give you $100 if your aces get cracked, so unless you're playing more than $100, it's actually break-even or p

i don't know you from adam except how you behave in this forum, but i think you're an uptight tool with terrible taste in animated gif signatures. you don't always have to be clever or have the last word. enough already.

The Social Repurcussions Of Online Poker (very Long)
DB10-2 replied to TheWatchMan's topic in General Poker Forum
i used to play a lot more online but got sick of it and stopped for the very reasons you descibed. it's solitary and depressing, yet also very stressful. you get no help with big wins or big losses if there's nobody around to share them with (though i believe if you're married or dating it's better to keep your work, such as it is, to yourself if you get upset easily, etc.).that said, if you want to make a living at it, assuming you can find good games, the profitability is much higher than it would be playing live for the very reason that you see more hands on more tables per hour. a good lim -
yes. at $50NL these days this can easily be KJ or KQ with a club. through rose colored glasses, that's what we'd be hoping he has, anyway.

that was the fun part, even though i lost. i started thinking about what he could possibly have gotten that far into the hand with where he now thought it was a good idea to shove the rest of his money in against me. i had to rule out a 5 and thought 22 was a long shot, but a possibility. then i thought, no, it's just some idiotic hand wherein KJ is probably the top end of what i could expect to be up against. i was pretty much correct, but lost. 'tis poker.
-
no, there was no way this was anything other than that the guy had no idea where he was in the hand, so decided to stick it all in and hope i folded or he was winning. i'd seen him do it previously. i never showed any weakness in the hand, and had position on him as he had called from the blinds. he open pushed after the 2 on the turn.like i said, it was nonsensical.

Hit Table Share Of $100k Jackpot @ The Bike
DB10-2 replied to delphi12's topic in General Poker Forum
i live in hollywood so they're all pretty far from me. i guess i go to the bike because it's the first place i ever played in LA and i'm just used to it.we should organize an LA area FCP night at a cardroom here. -
makes me wonder if i've played against you.

i've played at morongo. it's basically a bunch of vacationing idiots as well as a bunch of 18-21 year old kids in hats, glasses, and ipods.they all give their money away the same, though.
