  1. That is it I am officially through with Pacific Poker. First of all the customer support is soo slow, I emailed them at least 5 times with a 2 day lag in between? It is crazy, the tables are amazingly soft I am trying to get back into playing limit because I eventually want to play professionally and despite what you see on TV limit is where most of the money is made. I was playing .5/$1 and there were 9 people on the flop at one point. I played for 3 hours and if they limped and it was raised I don't know if I saw one person fold to that raise. Anyway some of the hands I played. Hand 1There w
  2. I just graduated college, have a crappy job dealing with rich people all day. I have toyed with the idea of going pro but then realized that I don't have the experience that I need, or the bankroll. If you are in debt and don't have a years living expenses in the bank I don't think you can afford to play professionally. There was a 2+2 article that said about playing part-time. That is what I plan on doing for the next 5-6 years until I can get my student loans paid off and get myself about 50k to play with and live off (I have really small living expenses). The other problem is people te
  3. I think that the reason that most people fail like all businesses is that they don't have enough capital to start. Most of the poker articles I have read say that you need 3 months living, and 300x big blind (if you are playing limit) and I don't think this is enough. If you are already a proven player it maybe enough, but there are going to be some things you don't account for. I think the 1 year recommendation is great, if you can't turn a profit after a year, it might be time to go to school. PS another reason for this is post is a bump because it is a damn fine article
  4. There are also people that don't need the books. My friend Kyle I have been trying to get him to read a book for a long time and he refuses because he thinks he is better off spending the time at the table than reading a book. There are a lot of people out there that refuse to read a book for whatever EV- reason.
  5. I have found the best way to get money into the pot is to bet/raise every chance you get. Especially in limit, I can't tell you how many times people have been slowplaying eachother and nobody gets any money. I know it sucks when everyone folds but that won't happen much at this level.
  6. I think there is no question at this point you have to pay it off. If there is a one in 24 chance that you have the best hand (which there is) you should call. Do you have a read on the button? Is he in a lot of hands or is he super aggressive. The only way I fold here is if he is a rock. You might be up against a set.
  7. Hand 1You missed the flop, you have a gutshot without the pot odds to chase. Gotta foldHand 2I don't really like the raise preflop, the problem with this is that with KQ and someone three betting there is a decent chance that he might have AK or AQ. Now if you have been watching him and he is likely to three bet with just about anything ignore this. I think KQ unsuited can be just as bad as the dreaded KJ. After you miss the flop get out.
  8. New England Sports have been on a tear so I am going to say the Bruins will win it all this year (I am a huge bruins fan) Any others planing on going to all the games till the price goes up.
  9. for what it is worth i agree with TJ. depending on reads of course.

  16. anyone know how to get the converter to work with pacific?
  17. i think he realizes that we are actually trying to learn from each other and not just be gossip queens.
  18. I don't see any other way you can play it.
  19. when you lose to a set over a set. That has probably cost me more money than AA.
  20. I think these are fun, i have been going through them while i am at work to divert my attention from actually getting stuff done. They are fun and help me know what I shouldn't be thinking about when i am playing
  21. when you post your hands make sure to post your reads with it. They are very important. If you don't have a read, start paying attention. That will help plug a few leaks
  22. I know some people that will chip dump there instantbankroll money and have a friend cash it out for them. So they don't have to play the required amount of hands.
  23. Why would you raise 2x that will almost never drive anyone out of the pot and I think with AQ you should want to drive people out of the pot. Raise 3x-4x and then it will really make him think about throwing it away. As it has been said 2x raises make me throw up in my mouth. :-)
  24. do you go to school in Terre Haute? One of my best friends goes to flight school out there
