lavitz,I do a lot of reraising pf, especially out of position. Usually I end up taking it down pf, and if not, on the flop with a 2/3 to pot sized bet. And while 20%pfr isn't that out of line, he is raising wiht a lot of hands you have badly beat from 2 off the button. Not to mention that some of the hands that beat you are giving up pf or on the flop anyway. Also, reraising frequently pf with hands like this kinda bolsters your image and makes it easier for to get paid off with a strong pf hands like AA. Play a $500 sng. It fills up relatively quickly on stars. I decided against it because it was a turbo and I think SNGs are luckboxed enough with the turbo feature. After it filled, I started wondering what type of people would actually play those things, and I realized that no "pros" - unless they were bored and had to go somewhere - would actually play that game. I figured that maybe 3-5 seats would be filled with rich business men that are looking to kill a saturday night. So my question is, do you guys think that there would be a suprisingly large number of fish in this game?

I don't mean to nitpick, but I just want to clarify something concerning the whole 2/3 line of thought. You are risking 2 to win 1, but by calling the raise, you are assuming you win some small % of the time that is greater than your pot odds, if not, you would fold. And those times you are best, you win 2 bets instead of one. So in practical terms, you really only have to be good somewhere around 60% of the time to make the raise. Again, not to nitpick, youre line of thought is correct. The 2/3 thing is just a pet peeve of mine.

I agree that checking the flop definetly has merit, and could probably be the best play. However, I think that once we bet, getting 10:1, we definetly have the odds to peel with a good bd flush draw and overs. I think you are discounting our overs too much. Too me, once villian check/raises the flop, his most likely hand is a draw, with sets and two pair lagging behind (given the pf action). I do think it's close, but I think the play on the flop is too call.

I like pf. Sometimes I reraise, but usually I would call. If I was OOP, I would reraise for sure.Flop call I don't mind, if you have a read that he will only bet the turn with Qx. Otherwise, i would just reraise the flop. I like the turn.I like the river too. I'm wondering if a small reraise would be better vs this loose opponent though. Definetly a call vs a tighter player.

I think a bet/fold kinda sucks because there are so many draws villian would play this way. Easy flop call IMO.
