With as wide as his range his, if villian has diamonds you are going broke. Raise to 50-60, and be ready to go all in.

I'm confused why you are discounting the flush draw. Why wouldn't a shorty push with the flush draw as a semi-bluff?edit: sorry about the double post -

Grinder what did you have when you called the UTG 12,000, raised to 42,000 on the flop, and folded to the push? Villian was "Hacken"

throwmeaway hit it on the spot.the push is overdoing it, unless you have a read that villian is a calling station or "table sheriff"

If you push here, you are giving yourself 1.55 to 1, alright odds, meaning you only need to win here about 40% if called to make the push correct (of course you have some FE). Your problem is that he will only need to call 8,200 to win a pot of 18,300, laying him 2.23 to 1, which gives him proper odds to call with a flush or straight draw. I'm calling the raise, and pushing on a non-ace/diamond turn. At that point, if he still calls with a draw, he's making the mistake. As far as other hands go, you are either WA/WB. More times than not your WA here (JJ, possibly A10, even QQ if he's tigh

A limp is too expensive to play set value (you are in the orange zone). You have a good hand, and your M is 6-7, I think a push has to be correct.

Raising 100 will get you nowhere, just sweeten the pot.

Sorry about that, the turn was the As.I ended up making the crying call, and he showed me QsJc.Now my question is, do you like his play?

Small pairs are great in the red zone, but lose value in orange and yellow (more so orange than yellow).

You misunderstood me.I think it's time we start talking about Iraq's future and what we can do now. What bugs me is when people just continually gripe over the fact that we are there and offer no solution. Everyone knows we made a major mistake, but now it's time to deal with it, not rub it in Republican's face (btw I am a Democrat)

This is a political vent of sorts, so if that isn't your thing, then don't read. This is not a personal attack on anyone, just my thoughts.Today I read an article that asked "What could 1.2 trillion dollars buy?" Basicially, it showed how all the money spent in Iraq could have been used to heal much of the world of its social problems. Are you serious?I was just as much against this war as any Democrat out there, but what the hell does whining about it do now? Sure, we were right and the Republicans were wrong; even Bush is admitting that he made some major mistakes in the past. However, whini

thanks, copernicus, where do you usually play and what stakes?

It takes two large ones to type up a blog like that and post it online, and I can only respect you more for it. I would wish you good luck, but that assumes that there is luck involved in what you described. Keep it real DN.

Gold just didn't look like he belonged. The Mouth gets some credit though, he used that limp/reraise w/ big ace a couple of times.

With the big stack, I think you have to give him a slightly larger range. If you don't defend your blind with AQ here, what are you waiting for?The problem is calling isn't exactly a great option either, and do you really want to reraise with just AQ? I think your read is what it comes down to. If you think villian is just bullying, maybe a call/push is right. Ohterwise, a fold is perfectly fine.
