Yeah...you have to make at least one re-raise to see where you're at and how strong your opponent's hand really is. QQ is a very strong hand in that situation (with such a low board) but you could still be losing to a lot of hands (including a hidden set). If you re-raise and your opponent then goes over the top...then it might be time to think that you're beat. However, to smooth call in that situation is not the right move because you could have the best hand at that point and then give the other player a chance to either bluff you out or catch up on the turn or river.

The answer to this question really does vary because it is situational and will depend on whether you're talking about a cash game or a tournament. If it's a big tournament and you're into the money....then you would probably want to push with AA or KK just to make sure that you don't get cracked by any limpers. I personally do a combination of both of those techniques. I have one account that use as my bankroll account and another account to track profit. What I do is I set a daily limit of how much I can spend to buy in on a 1-2/nl....which is usually $400 a day. If I lost that...then I get up and come back another day. If I win...I do the same thing, except the profit goes inot the other account. Definitely start at a 1-2NL game and take it slow at first and don't try to do too much too quickly. Set a daily limit for yourself for both wins and losses.... and make sure that follow them. The key to winning is your bankroll management and making sure that you don't play in limits that are above what your bankroll can sustain.

Put it this way. If everyone limps in and you have a pocket pair....always raise it up to see where everyone really is. If anyone goes over the top all in....then lay it down. If not...you get your callers and see the flop. Once the flop comes (if you miss your card)...you fire another continuation bet...that must be big enough to represent a huge overpair. At that point it you see where your opponents are. However, it is situational because you don't know how they will react to your raises...but you still want to raise to see and then react to their responses.

To tell you the truth buddy....it really depends on how good you are and if the cards are falling in your favour. It seems like you guys are kind of joking in your replies but to be more serious for a minute...you should NEVER mix alcohol and poker....it's a lethal combination. Not only will it lead to you playing a looser style of play....but it will lead to more tilting due to the incresed emotional state that people get in when they are drunk. I don't think you need to bring any more than $200 to a 1-2NL game. As a matter of fact, that is the most you should bring with you and if you lose it...just leave and come back to fight another day. I play almost daily at the casino in Niagara Falls and I usually sit at the 5-5NL game with $300-$500 and it always works for me. I win $1000 or more daily on a regular basis and I almost always start with only $300....not a penny more. Yep...the money is deposited into your account in cash...but there are some other packages out there that are better than what PokerStars is offering. I was playing on PokerRoom the other day and they had a package that includes the buy in as well as more additional spending money. On top of that...they don't have these huge fields of birds that Stars does...so the good player has a better chance of going deeper in the tournaments there than they do on Stars.

A very cool and interesting idea...but I don't know about "the future of online poker". Just as someone else had mentioned....I don't think that people would want to give away any unecessary tells. Especially since that is one of the biggest differences between online poker and live poker. People like to be able to play in their underwear, while they're eating...and I think that this would take a lot of the comfort and convenience associated with online poker away. However...Mobile poker on the other hand is really going to change things. Anyone heard of it?

I would have to agree with an earlier reply. That would have been a great bluff if you showed your cards and then tightened up and waited to trap someone that thought you were doing more of the same. As it turns out...it was merely a lucky play that you were not able to capitalize on that in the long run will lead you to going broke!!

I agree 100% with the post about the hands per hour. I don't think there is any comparison between the profit potential online as opposed to live games....especially if you are playing smart and waiting for your hands. In a casino....you could be waiting hours for your rush to come (based on the amount of hand being dealt in an hour). Where as online...you will see way more hands AND you have the ability to multi-table. In my opinion...live games are only good for high stakes games and tournaments.

I definitely think that the time of day makes a difference. The majority of the people who play during the day are usually onlie pros (or close to it)....that's why they are playing in the day and not working However, at night you have a lot of casual players who have come home from work and are just looking to have some fun before the wife kicks them off the computer. That is why you will also notice that there are A LOT more players playing in the night as opposed to the day.

If you're gonna go with one of the bigger sites...then I would definitely go with Pokerstars. Not only are the fields larger (which leads to more people finishing in the money) but they also have the option to redeem for tournament dollars which can be used to enter any of the many tournaments that they have running all the time. However, if you are worried about gettin lost in a sea of people (which some people see as a way to reduce their odds)...then I would recommend playing on a site like Pokerroom.com which is more exclusive that either Full Tilt or PokerStars.

There are a lot of sites that offer sattelites to the main event...but I think that the sites with the larger fields offer a better chance because they give away multiple seats in a single tournament....rather than just 1 seat being given away to the 1st place finisher. Sites like Pokerstars, Party, Pokerroom, and Full Tilt are highly reccommended for the best chance at winning a seat to the WSOP. Good luck!!
