  1. Happened to me the other day, then I ended up picking up 5 pocket K's and 2 pairs of Rockets, along with numberous 99's in ONE table tourney. Sweeeeet redemption!
  2. Except online poker. They actually give you $0.50. Yaaaaayyy......... :?
  3. I'm teaching my six year old sister how to play She doesn't quite get it, but she's learning the basics! A foundation for a future great poker player!
  4. He understands what the bankroll should be. He's saying his friend is playing ALL of it at one time. Like he sits down to a table with his ENTIRE BANKROLL instead of taking from it piece at a time.
  5. Noooooo way for $1000. Why not $100-$200. You're supposed to build your bankroll, but feel free to lose $1000. Definitely not 100 times the buy-in. I bought in for $50 and cashed out for $700 the next week. You play smaller buy-ins, like $10, and from your winnings you go to higher tables.
  6. I'm right there with ya 3000gt. Mine's the same way. She hates when I play, but every time I tell her I win she goes "Oh good so now you can take me out!" LoL

  8. Seriously the guy who plays the cop from Illinois or wherever makes me sick. He's supposed to be all tough and everything, but the actor they got just can't look like one of those guys! I don't know if it's his acting or just his face, but it just doesn't work! Then him grabbing that dude's balls is sending me signals....Am I the only one who thinks this??
  9. I was watching the WPT Season 2 they're airing right now to build up for March, and I realized that whenever Mike Sexton says that two cards are suited, he doesn't put it in plural. FOR example, he says "So and so's got big slick suited, the ace-king of SPADE..." or "he's got five-seven of SPADE in the big blind..." So notice, when I say it, and I've heard everyone else say the same, I would say the ace-king of spadeS. With the S. Am I the only one who finds this odd?
  10. LOL yeah the wait for the 2-4 on the weekends is crazy. That's why when I play there......I don't play 2-4!!Chumash is triple the distance than Morongo is from Orange County. I live in Simi Valley and its a 2 hour drive to either Monrongo and Chumash. And by the way Pechanga is a 21+.
  11. I seeeeee........I've always wondered that. Thanks Drum Infected!
  12. Are you kidding? It's a .05/.10 game. People will call with one over card hoping to hit. Answering that question had no bearing on the outcome. The only reason that happened is.......it was a .05/.10 game..05/.10 games are not particularly good practice for casinos, considering casinos don't (usually) have tables lower than $2/$4, which isn't that much better than microlimit, but it's still different. Would you rather call a gutshot straight draw the whole way through for a total of $12 or a big 30 cents?
  13. What are the consequences if someone under the age of 21 is caught playing poker online? I've always wondered who comes after you or what happens to your money etc......Any ideas, maybe through experience?
  14. you shouldnt particularly play all hands heads up. You want to play hands that have some possibility of winning, such as suited cards, connected cards, or even better, suited connectors. You should stay away from hands that have no value, such as 10-2 or J-3. However, any king or ace usually has a good high hand value, regardless of the kicker.
  15. Munky - I saw your pictures of your custom table and your new custom chips in a post, but I can't remember what topic it was. Do you think you could repost your pictures of your table and chips so I could gander at them again? Thx.
  16. Jogsxyz - First of you all you're an idiot, and you must be the friend he took for $460.Sandman you made an awesome play. I can't say I disagree or agree with the show. If you were willing to adjust your play in order to show your cards and have people trying to play you off of that, then that's your choice. Just be prepared to adjust your play when you show.Jogsxyz - If this guy's friend didn't want him taking his money, then he should have been sitting at a different table. You play poker to win money, no matter who it's against.
  17. Apparently you all have no clue what you're talking about. Norman Chad is probably one of the greatest things that's ever happened to televised poker.Howard Lederer is quiet and doesn't really say much. He's a player not an announcer.
  18. Playing at a casino is just like playing in online cash games. People may come and go as they chose, and if there is not enough room at a certain table a waiting list is started. There is no fee to play, but a rake is taken from every pot. This rake varies from place to place so check with the brush before you play. Tipping the dealer is nice whenever you win a pot, but don't tip too much, that's your own winnings your giving away.
  19. If you are looking for buy-in amounts, I've read that a good average to buy-in to any game is 40 times the small blind. That is said to leave you enough room to play comfortably. Adjust your bankroll accordingly.
  20. There's one thing you all have to understand. People who play poker on a regular basis are poker players by heart. They (we) can do it every day and every night and there's nothing we'd rather be doing. On the other hand, there's people who have day jobs and want to lead a boring life . If you are one the formentioned persons then you find yourself in the same situation as the rest of us!Poker players can't sleep! It's not in their genes! I, like the rest of you, find myself tired until I see or even think about cards. I remember when I first started playing back in high school I woul
  21. Yes I understand that, but the highest buy-in in the WSOP besides the main event is the $5,000 NL Hold'em and PL Omaha, so the main event is double any other tourney they have at the WSOP. What he was saying was to have a bigger event, so he is just saying to raise it, right?......
  22. :? Apparently you fail to understand the $10,000 buy-in and the title MAIN EVENT. There is a reason the buy-in for the main event is so much and the winner of the event is World Champion of Poker.
  23. That's exactly what I'm trying to say. The WSOP was not meant to be a "crapshoot". It was meant for the best players in the world to come and compete against each other, especially the main event. If you are not good enough to play in it against the pros, aside from luck, then you shouldn't be in it anyways. Those pictures are on that wall for a reason.I think it's a great marketing device for online poker sites to provide entries into it, but seriously, 2500 players?? The WSOP main event isn't meant for Joe-Schmoe players who "like to play but don't take it seriously," and therefore shou
  24. That's the point. The World Series of Poker used to be played by the greatest of the great. That's how the greats were distinguished. I think they absolutely should raise the entry fee or make restrictions as to who can enter, such as qualifying rounds in other WSOP events or things of the sort. That way the WSOP main event can go back to being a battle of the Titans, as it was intended to be.
