If i were you, i would stay.....at home. You obviously can't be a winning player, if your willing to fold KK pre-flop, when you are a major short-stack.

Ok, sry, yes, you were disappointed that you called with KK in that position. Anyway, i dont live anywhere near Vegas, and never been there, so wouldn't have a clue where to stay, ask dn if you can stay with him.

I was in vegas the first week in November. The above site is great. I used it to decide were to play. The hotel I stayed in did not offer poker. I played at the Aladdin soon to be the Planet Hollywood Resort and Casino. I enjoyed that cardroom, but it is not as plush as most. If you are going to be at the North end of the strip try the MGM or Luxor. The Excaliber has a big room, too. If you are at the south end the Wynn is nice (spreads a wide range of limits). I think Ceasars will be open when you are there so read the article at http://www.allvegaspoker.com/news_detail_120.html .Have fun...use the monorail to move quickly from either end of the strip. Also I hear that the downtown casinos are pretty run down.

Bellagio, Mirage, MGM are all nice places to play. I am heading back there in January and staying at the Bellagio. Aladdin is ok for lower limit. I'd stay away from Excalibur, Luxor and Harrah's, they were the worst IMHO. Not been to Rio's poker room but I've heard good things. Also I haven't been downtown so I can't help you there. The website mentioned above should give you all the info you need. It's what I used to schedule my vacation activities....Good Luck.

wow, you dont have a hotel room yet? youre gonna get assraped.  on the rate, i mean.
Glad that got cleared up.For poker, had a bad experience with dealers at the Aladdin during a tournament. For low limits, I liked the Monte Carlo; they serve their microbrew at the tables and games are very loose.

i think you have your ends of the strip mixed up, relative to where the casinos are

As far as where to stay, it depends on what you're looking for. If you just want something cheap to take a shower, spend short times in, then Excalibur was pretty cheap. I have stayed at Excalibur, Luxor, Aladdin, and Treasure Island. Try to get a package deal for hotel and airfare as it may be cheaper than getting the poker room rates. Yahoo travel was good for me as I got two round trip tickets (from Dallas) and hotel accomodations at Alladdin for about $600. As far as playing is concerned, I liked the rooms at Aladdin(very loose) and Harrah's(separate, no-smoking and glass enclosed with lots of plasmas for sports). If you may want to play tournaments, then Binion's downtown is cool because they have some pretty big ones going even late at night(had 120 people in their 2am Fri night $100 tourney). They're 1-2 NL tables are ridiculously loose and it's pretty cool to see the wall of fame. I was not very impressed by the Wynn because it didn't really offer anything else that other rooms offered but it did seem a bit rockish at the 2-5NL game. There also were a lot of locals and not many tourists when I went which also made the games a bit tougher.Anyway - hope this helpedGL on your trip. :club:

Stay at the Tropicana. Nice and cheap and right across the street from the MGM which has the best card room as far as I'm concerned. Nice and big, not cramped like the Belagio and lots of fish there on weekends. During the week it's just a bunch of rock regulars. Have fun.Brad...

I heard that Caesar's has a new poker room, anyone know how that is? Man, there seems to be so many good choices. I don't know whether to spend the money to stay at the Bellagio and be close and see the big boys of poker or to stay at something like Aladdin and play the looser games. Do I live in luxury or just get a room to stay in? I mean I won't really be in my room all that long but it's nice to say that i've stayed at the Bellagio. What do you all think?

The first time I stayed in LV I stayed at the MGM. Very nice and expensive as hell and extremely loud in there. The doors weigh a ton and slam every 2 minutes all day and night. I'll never stay there again. Since I don't stay in my room that much anyway the next time I went down I stayed at the Tropicana cause it's cheap and located right next to everything I like. MGM right across the street. So is the Luxor. Go down the street to the Monte Carlo and take the tram right to Belagio. The first time I walked all the way there. Didn't know about the tram till I was done playing and saw a sign in there. The 2-5 NL game was real fishy there to. But I really didn't like the room all that much. You just need to decide if you want to waste money on luxury or having fun. The first time I wasted money on luxury. The second time I knew better. Live and learn the expensive way. But the main thing is to just do what you want and have fun. If you really want to have a good time leave the wife at home. SWBrad...

If you're looking for soft games, make sure you go to Circus circus. Never seen anything like it. It's not as classy as the other places further down the strip though.I liked Wynn and Bellagio best... and Binions...and MGM. And The Orleans was great too.Have a nice trip.

Whatever you do, don't walk the 14 blocks from Freemont to the Stratusphere, you'll see some wicked at shit. At least I did at 4:30 in the morning. And try the Oxygen bar at the stratusphere, the redhead is a hottieeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee. But you're bringing the wife, so these opions don't mean shit. Have fun at Circus Circus.

i'm deciding between MGM and Caesars.  Opinions?  MGM is about 150 per night.  Caesars is about 300 per night.
from the poker rate link on this thread:Caesar's Palace Daily Room Rates:$119 (Sunday -Thursday)$199 (Friday & Saturday)Daily Play Requirement:8 hours 8 hours is a long ****ing time, and i dont know shit about their poker room. but thats a pretty damn good rate for a room compared to 300.personally, i do vegas on the cheap... im thinking excalibur for my next visit in jan-feb sometime
