Automatic Card Shufflers

I'm wanting to buy an automatic card shuffler, but I'm seeing a number of reviews of models that are getting crappy reviews. I'm also not particularly fond of the prospect of 4 C batteries. Anyone have any recommendations for a specific model or site?

I got one but it was all plastic and made a horrible noise.But my brother went to Radio Shack and they have one that is made partially of wood.It sounds alot better.I actually dont use it very much,I just have it for anyone that doesnt know how to shuffle.I dont think they work very good since you have position the cards just right for it to work properly.

Unfortunately without a gaming license you can't get a decent shuffler. The good ones (ie. shuffle master) are considered 'gaming equipment' and can only be sold to casinos etc. The only ones available for retail sale are junk and not really worth the bother. Plus the $20-$50 retail ones don't handle plastic (KEM/Gemco) cards very well.

It's much quicker to shuffle by hand rather than deal with putting the cards into a shuffler and taking them out. If someone doesn't know how to deal, why not have the guy next to them deal for them, or maybe teach the guy how to deal, it's really not that hard.. The automatic ones are just quite the hassle, I own one similiar to the one you pictured and it collects dust on a shelf somewhere.

Do get this one, it is way too anoying to use. Its probably faster to just shuffle the cards then to use an electric card shuffler like the one below.

I don't think my brother's girlfriend would want to shuffle for us. :DSeriously though...I'd like to play my brother in heads-up freezeouts. The problem is that we're both very used to the speed of playing online. We can both shuffle fine, but poker (particularly hold 'em) is a very tedious game to have to shuffle so frequently. I mean, you only use 4-9 cards each time.And yeah, I'm looking for something that would work with my good plastic cards.

The problem with the ‘home-game’ automatic shufflers is that they only shuffle the deck once. You have to repeat the process again to get another shuffle (at least all of the ones I’ve seen). Of course this is not a big effort or anything, but don’t think that you are actually saving time by buying one. It takes much less time to simply have two decks, with one being shuffled while the other is in play.

I was redy to call BS on this since I had tried to purchase a few for an NYC cardroom not that long ago.
