Guest
You said you won your seat to the WSOP this year at a B&M. Which B&M would this be, besides the 'net & Harrah's there isn't much going on in the way of poker. Please elaborate...ThxXmas
IraBear 0
i was just wondering if you guys would like to share about a big tournament you have won or placed really high in... like what is the most money yall have ever made in one tourney or a tournament with ALOT of people that you have wonfunny, one of my best poker tournaments also ended up including my dumbest move ever.On party poker, i was playing in the NLHE tournies where they were giving away seats to the london EPT event. 997 players, i make it to the final table, top six get the 14,000 trip. after one guy drops we are down to 9, i'm now the short stack. about 3 or 4 hands of everyone folding, i get aa in late position, i'm thinking awsome. ....two go AI ahead of me, and i'm thinking awsome i have a chance to easily double through twice (this was in my first 5 months of starting to play). i go AI and one more goes in behind me, essentially all the short stacks made a move. to make a long story short, my aces get cracked, i had a huge learning lesson, i could have just folded and all but garunteed my way to london. I've won a bunch of 10-20$ sng's never hit the big one, a few smaller MTT's.Ira

joeythep 0
My poker accomplishment of which i am most proud? Being plus $2k since I started keeping records just over a year ago. I'm pretty proud of my 3rd place out of 32 finish in the first tournament i ever played in. (after about a years worth of cash game experience)
tekku7181 0
Should I even be posting to this thread?? Probably not...but I am excited that I cashed in my first ever NL tourney 2 months ago. I held on, and I mean CLINGED to 10th place(those blinds and antes were vicious in the later rounds!) in a 70 player tourney at my local casino. 1st paid $3400, 10th paid $760. I was seriously about to pass out when it was down to 15 people and I had to go all in every other hand just to stay alive. That was so stressful and I haven't played in a live tournament since. I think I will just stick with 4/8 limit for a while!very strange structure that would have 1st paid 3400 and 10th 760...i never outright won a multi,,,chopped for 2000 @ tropicanachopped at a club for 1300pokerstars 1900 6th UB sunday was best so far @ 3900and i just finshed bluffing off a 10k chip lead w/20 ppl left to finish 14 for an enormous 30 dollar profit after 3 hours
whirleymob 0
ok it sounds unbelievable but i turned my last $.75 in my royal vegas account into about $200-250 in about two days. I just had a sick rush of cards at micro limits then .25/.50 pl holdem.

TheMathProf 0
My best finish in a MTT was right after someone's bubble burst. I was hanging on with less than the BB with 121 players left, and the tourney paid 120. Playing hand-for-hand and my BB just passed, so I knew I had another 8 hands or so, depending on whether the blinds went up before my SB came around. After 6 hands of hand-for-hand, the bubble burst, I went all-in on the very next hand with my AJ suited, had 6 callers and got rivered by someone with A8 after everyone was checking it down. I finished in 119th and won a grand prize of $1.80.[EDIT: Typo.]
J-Dub 0
One of my biggest accomplishments was taking down an entire table at the Golden Nugget a few months ago. I know it's not a tourney, but I literally took everyone's money at the table and sent em all home. It was beautiful. One of my more proud accomplishments was taking first in an Omaha 8 or Better tournament. Only 120 players on Full Tilt, $5+1,but I hadn't been playing the game too much. Rocketwadster 0
Wow, I had no idea that so many members of this forum were this accomplished in their poker travels. Here I am thinking that my unbelievable number of second place finishes on Paradise in SNG's was something to behold
CheckRaise 0
After calling a 400 dollar bet haha uhhh you called a 400 dollar bet with ummm backdoor straight and flushdraws?? wow.... balls or stupidity? not sure which one.LOL im 100% sure you dont play cash games To make that comment. He has 3000$ and as he says the pot is already at about 1-2k so he has to invest 400$ to see another card with a Gutshot. I like that call Ballsy but good.Dont Critisize this type of play. Cash Games are not Tournements Implied odds are worth Much more because if you loose your money you can reload. not like a tourney where this call would be insanly dumb, its a good cash game call especially in NL. Please play some NL cash games and you will see that you have to gamble to get paid big. It isnt the same as Lh or a tourney You Need to be an Animal to Play NL

Larrel 0
I wanted to share my good fortune (not literally) and thank those who post here as they are partially to thank for my first MTT win LAST NIGHT.I was playing the evening $22 Limit on UB. Normally I would never play an entry that was that high as $5.5 is my cut-off for this new "hobby". Before this the only significant wins has been several first places in $5.5 SNGs. Lately I have had a good win streak at the $0.25/$0.50 cash tables and a friend talked me into use some of that to play the $22 Limit MTT. I was so excited when I made it in the money since i knew I was going to at least recover my entry during this temporary lapse in judgement. But then, I was making good plays, the cards were moving my way and I was now at the final table. Before I knew it I had knocked out most people at the table and found myself heads-up with a significant lead over #2. Then I pulled out a win and $828. That is $823 more than I have ever won before! There is a sad part to this story. When I told my wife of my good fortune she was immediately thinking of the things that we could spend the money on. I was like "ah...no, this is my poker bankroll". That was totally lost on her and she was more concerned with home improvements. I will be resolving this in a mutually acceptable way to ensure the ongoing success of my marriage. Anyway...thanks for your great advice.WOOT for me.-Larrel
