This will be a huge problem, and will likely only be offered on premium packages. The NFL Network has this problem, and they are a billion $ established sport that has existed for decades2. Content. What are they going to show: Old WSOP, WPT, HSP, PPT, or another televised poker tournments that have aired. If they did this, it would cost $ to re-air them, and if they wanted new programs, they would need committed sponsers (Online Poker Sites, Beer, etc...) for the programs. Also, even if they just aired new programs from 6pm-10pm each weekday, that would be 20 hours of new poker related programs each week. Currently, there is not 20 hours of new poker programs on all televsion networks.3. Being a Poker-only network. You are not going to get viewers who don't watch or even play poker to tune in to watch. With ESPN, the WPT/PPT, and HSP, they are on established, diverse networks that show a wide varieity of programs. If you are watching SportsCenter on ESPN you will come across ads for the WSOP. Same goes for other programs on other networks. This is another reason why I think the NFL Network will eventually fail: it's only one sport and you will not get crossover viewers who might watch other progamming besides football.This is a bad idea that will fail. Lest we forget that Espn took a pass on airing the Wpt in the first place. Then when poker made it big, they jumped on the good ole band wangon and picked up the Wsop.
