Just Qualified For The Stars Million!

Recommended Posts

Pretty excited that I finally qualified for the Sunday Million. Just took down a $11 double shootout. This isn't intended to be a brag post or anything just pretty thrilled to finally qualify since this is my first attempt in like 2 months. I've gotten pretty close before finishing 3rd, 4th, and 7th in these double shootouts. What makes it even more exciting was surviving a 45min 3 man battle for top 2 spots. I started off as chip leader and dropped down to 500 chips, then preceeded to triple up the next hand, eventually regaining the chip lead. This pretty much made my week.

Easy to say after FT'ing it once already :club:
I played it plenty of times before after satelliting in, cashing in a few, placing 12th once. Hey, if $200 is a lot of $ to you, like half or even 1/4 of your bankroll, by all means, keep playing the $3 qualifiers and double shoot-outs. They're weak and beatable. But to play the big one (well, the weekly big one :D ) is not only a shot at a lot of $$$, but it's what we all want, a BIG THRILL! Playing against a gargantuan field of donks, rocks, by the book players, maniacs, squeezers and pros. Every break that you're still alive is a rush, only one double up away from being average stack is plenty to focus on the action. "That guy moved on my blind for the 3rd time" RE RAISE BIG with 7h8h from the BB. Fold. YES BIATSCH!! Just increased my stack by 20%"Every time you bust out of the bigun :D you've learned something that you can't get from small tourneys, then you go back to your HH and analyze your shitty moves, bad calls, good values bets and borderline draws. I still rarely buy in str8 to the tourney, (maybe 20%) the DS are good to me. When I cashed big, I was in on a $2.60 triple shoot-out. I cashed out a few $500 tickets (to play 2 $200 tourneys) but I never cashed out a $200. "You should gamble every day, 'cause what if it's your lucky day and you miss it?" - attributed to at least 30 guys...

Preachin to the choir man. I bought myself (partially, but > 50%) into both $530 WCOOP (NL and PL) events when my roll was ~$2000. Probably the most thrilling tournaments ever, and I managed to cash in both of them :club:

I've thought about not playing and just using the $T dollars in the past, but now that I have a comfortable bankroll, I am definetly going to play this. I've been dying to play this for soo long. I also feel that I will play my best and put all my focus and attention into this since it is a big buy in.BTW, anyone that frequently plays the Stars Million got any tips for me based on the competition/structure of the tourney?

I will agree, I'm not exactly a broke college student but 200k is pretty life changing at my age.

I just won a Stars Million ticket last night in an $11 Double Shootout too, weird. You would've known it was me though because my Stars name is Yoda FCP. I actually sat out with 3 left and 2 paying because I was a huge chip leader and was in the final 5 of a $20 multi haha. The other 2 fought over my chips and eventually 1 of them went away and I got my ticket.

This event is fun. I finished in the top 1/3 my first time but missed the money when my KQ on a K Q 6 flop couldn’t suckout on pocket 6’s. GL!

15 minutes aren't long.Blinds start at 40/80.Therefore, it's the same as starting with 2500 and 10/20 blinds, like every other $200 tournament. There is NOTHING special about this structure.
