Theraflu 1,035
Went to the wrong place first, had a Redhook Longhammer on draft before realizing we were meeting somewhere else. Then it just turned out to be a hangout session of some buds at Hong Kong City. I guess the other-slut divorced her husband too, so those two scumbags are a couple now, but we didn't really get into it. I didn't have enough time/rum to really drag out the deets. ShakeZuma 585
lived above a smoker for a year. smoking is pretty much retarded.you're right smoking is cool and relaxing.I'm currently sitting at a bar by myself, before meeting people out, drinking a bells hopslam because I wanted to make sure I got some before this keg goes dry. Kinda look like a loser, kinda feel like a loser.hey at least you didn't go to bed at 9 o'clock because you don't have anywhere to go or anybody to hang out with. Yeah, let's be honest. It's kind of fun. My ladyfrenn was supposed to be going out with her ladyfriends for her bday but decided to have them over to our place instead, and I conveniently live a block away from one of the best bars in the world, according to Forbes magazine. It could be worse. I could live in Virginia.oh, I see you've covered this.but see, this is what I'm talking about here. people make fun of me for wanting to pay money I don't need to pay to get an apartment, meanwhile there's the ridiculousness of living in the middle of nowhere and not being able to go out and doing anything (and the isolation does suck a fat one). I know the ideal would be to move to a real city with a good high paying job so I can live in a populated area with people and things and stuff, but lets be honest here, that ain't happening. took me three years to make a LATERAL salary move, so vertical just ain't an option. best case scenario is moving to a slightly more populated area closer to my current shit job. so come on people, give a jig a little support OKAY.on a more positive note, I'm really excited for strategy and his new management position at wf. good luck bud! Napa_Don 688
I don't think people are faulting you for wanting to move out of your house, just that you admittedly are going to come up short each month if you do, budget wise, and refuse to try and get a better job so you can at least kinda afford it. Have you thought about getting another job? You're up at the 4 am anyways, why not go deliver some papers or some shit?
ShakeZuma 585
lately I'm at work around 12 hours a day and I'm trying to find a couple hours a day to study for this cert I need to get. only way I could get another job is if I had a good supply of free meth.edit: and let's not confuse "not able to" with "refusing to." it may seem logical to look for a new job when you're underpaid, and it may be explainable during an interview, but if you've only been at your current company a year and a half, 3 years at your previous, and a year and a half at the one before that, you're seen as a job hopper and you're not going to even get to the interview phase. this is pretty universal in hr circles from everything I've read and heard (directly from some of the companies I've tried to apply to in this area too). Tiltinagain 973
This whole internetz thing is really taking off, you know? This past week I had an interview on Skype. Have another with the next level manager on Tuesday. (we are all in different states) I don't get nervous for in personinterviews but something about sitting in front of a computer, on camera, really had/has the butterflies going. Congrats on the new job Strat!

brvheart 1,752
you're right smoking is cool and relaxing. How much do you spend a month on cigs? I think they are something like $6.25 a pack here in Iowa. I have an idea how to get you a livable wage. Give me a shout out and I'll fill you in.
InternetExplorer 2,609
I really doubt shake is actually a smoker. only one I can envision smoking in this thread is maybe beans. both of my brothers are chewers... I don't get it. Congrats on the new job Strat!yeah I'm still waiting on deets (theraflu is right, that word is awesome)

ShakeZuma 585
I only smoke on the weekends, so what, 25 bucks a month tops? that's still a lot I guess, but don't forget: the coolness.also feel I should mention that I smoke while wearing a black wool car coat so I look EXACTLY like james dean when I'm doing it. InternetExplorer 2,609
anyone know anything about SAS, or the possibility that it could get me into an analyst job without work experience?I've seen listings that include it, but usually it's like "we also want you to have four years experience" which, I'm sure they can get it right now, but lol. brvheart 1,752
I feel like a bad friend for not forcing you guys to buy more SBLK when it just hit sub .90/share a few weeks ago. It's still free money, but man. Reasons to buy SBLK stock on Monday:1. It's cheap. $1.17/share right now.2. It's a Greek company, so it's really undervalued right now.o3. When the economy recovers, shipping will be the first to spike.4. They are in a strong financial position even with the small negatives of a world-wide economic collapse and being in Greece. (They lost something like 70% of their value in 2011)5. They pay a big dividend compared to the price of the stock. (I think it's currently .20 / share)6. If it goes up to $2 by Summer and/or the election, which I think it will, you will have nearly doubled your money.Reasons to not buy SBLK on Monday:1. Friday the stock rose 8 percent.2. Some people might sell on Monday due to the huge gains, and the price might drop a little.
InternetExplorer 2,609
what's wrong with an index fund? I guess I'm just burned out on caring about what stocks do on a daily basis.

speedz99 145
If I wasn't currently studying my ass off as part of what I'm assuming will be a 40-hours-of-studying weekend, I'd do something funny, like writing "Go on...", hoping you tell us what bar you're at, calling said bar, asking for "mk", and yelling something hilariously creative, like "YOU SUCK!" before hanging up. Yup, that's what I would do. As of 2pm Saturday: 10 hours down. I NEED MORE TIME.

JubilantLankyLad 1,957
have you tried smoking during interviewsLOL. In a restaurant. Way to make me look foolish. If only I had a cigarette to compensate. anyone know anything about SAS, or the possibility that it could get me into an analyst job without work experience?I think smoking in the interview will be plenty sassy. I mean I don't know what their hiring practices are specifically, but they're consistently listed as one of the best companies to work for in the US (3rd this year, 1st last) so... no. you're probably gonna need experience. if they're anything like the company I work for, no analysts or specialists or anything with that kind of title gets hired without 10 years experience save for statisticians. but there's nothing stopping you from applying now is there?
