can shuffling chips cause carpel tunnel syndrome?

Recommended Posts

I was just kinda curious if anybody has ever heard of somebody getting carps from a long life of chip shuffling. I'm constantly shuffling chips, even when I play online. I just love the feel of it. I know I'm a degenerate, and probably wouldn't stop even if I heard it did cause carpel tunnel (sp?). But I'm curious anyways.

i dunno about that but every time I learn a new trick and do it over and over my hand will hurt from using those muscles so much...but eventually that goes away

In an attempt to bring the conversation back on track:I believe the answer is yes. I know that my wrist will cramp up and hurt if I play too long (and have the bad habit of shuffling chips to pass time and calm my nerves).I guess I need to focus my energy elsewhere.

And leave it to RM to move us back off track...
is this really earth shattering information?Do we have a hand specialist on the forum that will give empirical evidence proving that shuffling chips will cause cancer of the ring finger? No.So, why not type "jerkin the gerkin"

yes."shuffling chips" has also been known to cause blindness and hairy palms.
hahaha, just thought of the hairy palms commercial. classic, Tim.Anyway, i've just about stopped shuffling chips in cardrooms. Do you ever take the time to ****ing listen to the sound you (and everyone else) is making? It's ****ing ridiculous and annoying.
