RonBurgundy 0
ROMG YESman the amount of material that dude has put out in the past couple years is uh daunting. i've heard da drought 3 is the best of the mixtapes but who has the time to sift through all that shiz?i like most of his mixtape stuff better than tha carter 3, lyrically at least. no kickin new beats of course, but his flow is a little wackier. kinda like how you can **** around with running turnaround hookshots in practice but have to buckle down for the game. and dedication 2 are both reel nice. and legally free of course. links arent downloads, just my favorite songs from each. LongLiveYorke 38
What I listened to this weekend:The Go! TeamMichael Franti and SpearheadThe New PornographersUnderworldRadioheadChromeoMetricAnimal CollectiveKings of LeonRadioheadThe Go! Team put on a pretty entertaining show. They're energetic, fun, and a good summer performance. Spearhead was beyond horrible and made me want to die in terrible ways. The New Pornographers were good, though not great. They don't really add to much to their music in a live show, but it was entertaining enough. Before the show, AC came out during the sound check and asked us all who were waiting in the front row of the concert about 9 hours before Radiohead came on what we were going to do if we had to go to the bathroom. No one game him a good answer. Underworld was very loud, somewhat entertaining, but quite repetitive. Their set was too long.Chromeo was very funny and fun. Metric was decent though somewhat boring. Animal Collective but on a pretty cool show. They really stretch out their songs and fill the stage with a wall of sound. However, because their songs are so long live, they don't get to play enough of them. The best song was "Comfy in Nautica" off of Person Pitch, which was really sick live. Kings of Leon was incredibly generic and boring.

LongLiveYorke 38
particular reason that these stood out?Well, first of all I had never seen either of those songs live before, so I was really excited to see them. They both translate incredibly well live. When they're played, the lights just go ballistic on stage and it's just incredibly beautiful and insane. Jonny went completely insane during both songs in guitar. During Bangers and Mash, Thom pays the drums, which is pretty funny and cool.I don't know, they were just both bloody fantastic, especially back to back.

It feels to me like they really, really, really still love that song. They can just go ahead and rock out, without any reservations. The lights were fantastic, from what I remember. Everything very bright, and fire and flash. I remember thinking, "This is by far the best song of the set, and I am very, very surprised by that."
lvpro 0
I'm inspired now to listen to Radiohead. I'll be seeing them in 9 days for the first time in almost exactly 5 years. I still remember how righteous that show was.
