Admittedly, I play mostly online, so my poker attire consists of sweatpants and a hoodie...but I was just wondering, when people venture out and play in b&m casinos, how do you dress? I assume some people use their attire to help create a favorable table image--i.e. dressing in a nice pair of slacks and a button down shirt with some bling bling could suggest you are a successful player. Most of the time I don't put much thought into it, but maybe some people do. Thoughts?

Most just were regular closes. Some like to look nice. So people (like Phil Laak) Have a closet filled with "poker clothes" i guess you could say. It just depends, I mainly wear jeans and a hoodie....then again I always wear jeans and a hoodie

I like to skew people's opinion of me. I generally come to the table looking like a tourist or a laid back kinda grungy look. I try to look as young as possible, I find that works best for me trying to get under people's skin and spinning the tilt button on them a few times in my favor :)When I'm just playing for fun I like to just wear whatever is comfortable.... t-shirt and jeans for the most part. One time I put on a nice Gucci shirt and some hugo boss pants with some nice shoes and a belt and ventured off to various cardrooms throughout the night. My overall experience was one of two possibilities, which could be merely based on the people at the table, but given the sample of four cardrooms, it's less so:1) they consider me a tight player and won't give me any action2) they consider me a cocky player and call me down on everythingGiven that I was playing 10/20 and 20/40 at the time, I would have to say that the games were not that loose.... so make your own conclusions.

i ussually just wear jeans, a tshirt, and my lucky poker belt buckle. Right now its pretty cold where i live so i wear a hoodie most of the time. if i feel like having some fun and drawing attention to myself at the table i like to wear my 3-piece pin stripped suit that i got for 10 bucks (goodwill YEAY YEAY!) with a dress hat and dress shoes and the whole deal.My frieds get a kick out of it when i wear my suit and a few hours into the game i take off the blazer and roll up my sleeves, take off the hat (i have messy hair by now) and loosen the tie way up. hahah. it looks like i have been taking a beating all night. :D

A Warrick Dunn Florida State football jersey from way back in the day, Penny Hardaway Orlando Magic from back in the day (both faded as hell), or a Marilyn Manson tshirt. Jeans are always standard issue. other than that if I'm not thinking about it, it's whatever I happen to have on. Cheers. WW

Anything that will make people give me less credit than they normally would. This list includes jerseys, trashy jeans, bandanas, and occasionally in the summertime i will even include cut off shirts that expose numerous tattoos. btw, Warren Warrior we have almost the same exact signature.

I'm a big fan of old vegas. I pretty much dress up to go into a casino, especially if I'm going to sit at a poker table. I just do it out of respect for the "old days" when you wouldn't even think of walking into a casino in a pair of shorts. I know I'm in the minority, and it's probably not cool to think your James bond anymore, but I think some things are still sacred. :-)

I also dress up quite a bit when I hit the Casino. A funny story about this actually, a friend of mine went all-out for a large tournament last year, wearing matching pants and a blazer, button down, tie the whole bit, and he topped it off with his aviators, he went on to win the tournament without buying back in.So on that accord, now when the 3-4 of us make our trip to the casino, we all wear atleast a button dowm, the next time we go will be for another large tournament and we will all be wearing suits.I think dressing up makes you feel more confident, and on that note, play more confident, which is always a plus.

I believe that comfort brings confidence, therefore one should wear what one feels comfortable in. Conversely, what you wear does have a distinct effect on how you are treated by others. In that respect, myself in old school jerseys (emhasis on old, as I got them when they were new) tshirts and jeans would instantly have an entirely different perception projected than you in a suit. Admittidly you would probably be treated with more respect than myself, however that could change drastically for either of us based upon our play and actions, thus the possibility of negating the original impression. It is my belief that the original impression only lasts a maximum of maybe a half hour at a live table. Because of this, dressing up is in a sense counterproductive for a person such as myself, as I am very uncomfortable in a suit, which would cause a decrease in my ability to concentrate on playing my best.In another regard, If you can pick up on how others percieve you fairly quickly you may be able to use that to an early advantage before the perception wears off. I'm not sure if this makes any sense as I've been up for about22 hours now, but it seems to.Cheers. I'm off to bed.WW

I definately have to go with my hospital scrubs and a dark coloured thin tee shirt. The reason for the dark coloured thin tee shirt, hate to get a great bluff called cause of sweat dripping down my temples cause im too hot. Plus even if u do have to sweat out a few hands, the dark shirt will cover up any evidence. Especially if u have cute cocktailors workin ur table! Ceough!

I prefer to dress up a bit, for the main reason, and I have no idea why, but when I and in nicer rags, I tend to act/play a bit more professionally.I found this true in all things, some offices have a "casual friday" and from my experience, it seems that not everyone is as productive/focused in casual clothes.

i was always called "the dad" by my friends when we went to the casino.... they would dress super nice, and i would wear a polo shirt, khaki shorts, sneakers, and an old faded flyers hat... i would also be really scruffy, and have cheap sunglasses hooked on my shirt..... it really looked like i was taking my sons out for the night, cuz they all looked really young and clean shaven.

I switch it up... One day I will hit the Casino with a dress shirt and the Diamond Rings... The Next time it will be with a Tom Brady jersy or a Brazilian Soccer shirt. ............. and the Diamond Rings... I guess somethings don't change.. Sometimes shades sometimes not.. It all depends how tuff I feel the grind will B.
