I believe it was just a few short years ago you were scrapping it out in lower buy-in tourneys like the rest of us... I realize you can now go flip coins with Barry for more money then some of the first place pay-outs but, PLEASE HAVE SOME HUMILITY. I don't think you would be making these comments about the WSOP lower buy-in's had you not had such a great last couple of years. In 2002 you won 7 tournements with a buy-in of $1000 or less, I bet you weren't complaining about the small buy-in's then! If you truly loved this game why would you want to ruin the one thing that makes this game so popular: ANY AND EVERY MAN CAN PLAY & WIN!!!! If you proceed to increase the buy-in's for events too 10k 20k 50k 100k, pretty soon this game won't be for everyone. Daniel I truly mean no disrespect from this post! I am huge fan of the site and I think you are a stand up guy. If the cards are running bad so be it. It happens! You are hands down one of the greatest players in the game, you don't need to make excuses for your lack of sucsess at this years WSOP! DN you used to relish at the chance to crush a lower buy-in tourneyDon't forget that!(It shouldn't be about the money, but for the love of the game)

Nebraska is a fine state. I was born in Lincoln, and I have to say there is not a lot to get excited about there so, give us a break.

Hasnt DN made it known before this years WSOP that he doesnt like playing in the small events. Its just how he is, and you posting that you dont think its right isent going to change is opinion.

I agree with you, when it comes to a cash game! In a cash game, for the most part you are playing for the money. Playing in the WSOP is a different story. The buy-in shouldn't matter!

Not to you. DN already has a bracelet, loads of cash, and many tourny wins. He feels it's not as prestigous now because anyone and their mother is entering the tournament. No reason to fault him for his thinking.

Good post Danny T...I agree.Lot's of clowns looking to entertain themselves in here...and that has it's role as well...but I agree with what you made reference to in the topic of this thread.It's about beating the competition...not only dollars.~Lance

I second that beacuse I'm also from Nebraska. There really isn't anything to get excited about in that state.

I don't think DN was saying that they should raise the limits. He was just pointing out that there are alot of $1500 buy ins. That being said, I agree with the original poster. DN seems to be making excuses. When the series first started, he was complaing about the huge fields and predicted that not many will make the final table multiple times. Well, we know now that he was way wrong about that. This seems to be the year of the "older pros" and they have been doing great versus these fields. It really shows that skill is much more important than luck and that makes me happy. :wink: Do you guys remember a few months back when DN and Paul Phillips were on this forum talkin about possoble collusion at the final table? Well, i had posted that the pros wanted to raise the buy-ins and **** block the "up and coming " players out of the big events. DN posted that i was completly wrong about him saying that and said that he knows which pros share that view and he no longer talks to those people. I hope i don't have to call him a liar if you guys are right and DN really wants the buy-ins raised. :shock: :shock:

Oh yeah, i agree with bourbenz... except that instead of a freeroll next year, the WSOP buy in and prize pool should be in monopoly money...its about the competition, not the money right? I mean, no one at the world series really cares about winning millions...its all about competition.and while were at it, how about instead of hold em, the main event will be the card game UNO. That way truly anyone can win! and to make it even easier for the average man, the rest of the events will be penny buy ins with the following games:go fishhigh card wins (cards are dealt face up)no limit bingoblackjackcasino war
