AmScray 355 Posted December 14, 2009 Share Posted December 14, 2009 Wondering why there seemed to be little to no meaningful activity in the forums anymore (why as of this posting, there is still a thread on Page 1 of "General Poker" with the last post on December 11th), I hit trends for a look.This mind boggling chart-of-failure tells it all. After nearly five years of operation- including some dizzying highs- the site is generating virtually the same amount of web interest as it did when it launched- possibly, less.No, it isn't the same for "all poker forums".Perhaps the admins can discuss what measures are being taken to ensure that the site doesn't completely devolve into a group of the same couple-dozen guys posting $4.40 rail-calls? And yes, yes...... but it's the truth nevertheless.Kinda curious here. It seems like the place has potential, if it's just unlocked in the right ways. Link to post Share on other sites

Now search cardrunners and deucescracked and a bunch of other training sites. People who are trying to improve their poker are going to go to the forums attached to training sites since they have pros answering alot of their questions and it is free to join. If they did pay that is even more reason they would participate in those forums.Considering that improving your game is a massive reason to join a forum, It shouldn't be that surprising that FCP is struggling compared to the pre training site days. I wonder how the Poker VT forum is doing (not the sub forum here but there actual private one). Link to post Share on other sites

We no longer have an online card room. Pretty simple really that 3 years ago Full Contact Poker was an online gaming site and a poker forum with the online gaming generating the majority of the traffic. At out peak for example we had on average over 3,000 different people playing for real money in the cardroom per day.2. In the past Daniel was always seen in public wearing Full Contact Poker gear on TV etc and people would search that when they saw his hat. With new media such as Twitter fans of Daniel's can follow him in tournaments etc that way instead of coming to FCP.Poker Forums from a business standpoint mainly exist to generate affiliate revenue from poker sites. We aren't in that business so we don't run a bunch of freerolls or promotions designed to get people to come here and sign up with sites.Are the FCP Forums as busy as in the past ? Of course not but your comparison of google searchs of Full Contact Poker from when the cardroom was running is a bit of an apples to oranges comparison.From a financial standpoint throwing a lot of money at promotions etc won't generate any return for us but I would love to hear any suggestions from people on fun things that they would like to see FCP do. As we are aware it's named after him and the numbers in that tournament are going down it needs to be promoted again. Even if he came under his other player name it would be nice to have him play with us again. maybe before Christmas as a present. I know I enjoy it when he does those hand presentations scenario's and makes us think about how we would play them out they are awesome to do. Or another Daniel FCP Protege challenge? I can't actually recall the last time I saw an FCP logo outside of the site. Without that promotion, there's very little in the way of new blood. I understand why it has gone that way...he makes far more promoting Stars and PokerVT. It'd still be cool to see a patch or something every now and then.New protege would be cool...though I know Stars took over the last one quite heavily...and the results haven't panned out the way everyone hoped. If those get going again with strong players posting consistantly in them again, that'll help.The only thing I really dislike is that FCP used to be my only poker forum stop where I could get plenty of poker news, etc. Now, I have to go to the bigger forums to get steady news updates etc, which I hate since you have to sift through all the garbage posts to get them.
