Thanks! What online poker sites would you recommend? I usually play live poker so I'm not that familiar with online poker
If your going to sign up to any site other that Pokerstars make sure you get some Rackback (which means you get a percentage of the Rake back that the poker site takes on each hand) before you start. Since there are a few guys who sign folk up on this site I won't mention anyone in particular. Just start a new topic with the words Rakeback or simply search for the word Rakeback in FCP (there is a search box at the bottom of the general poker page).

It's more than I've seen (and will see) in awhile...so I suppose I will accept it.Though, onto the topic of your post. I'd suggest http://www.pokerstrategy.com/news/homesection/Poker VT is also good.Although a decent amount of people may seem like assholes, quite a few of them know what they are talking about so just looking through the forums alone should provide you with an immense amount of knowledge.
Remember Exact opposite of what Jspencer says.If you go to a poker training site do so in this order. Deuces cracked Stox pokerCardrunners Blue fire pokerPoker VT(listed in order of content for beginners )

It's standard to start off suggesting Poker VT.

Thanks guys I think I got it... I was playing last night at pokerstars. I think I was playing pretty decent. Except this one time....So I played Texas Holdem limit... I had a 8 and A and kept calling and I folded after the turn. The board was JQ59K...I almost kickedmyself for that...

Uh, are you trying to say that you would have made some sort of straight on the river? Because A8 don't make a straight with any combination of JQ59K....

jesus guys, she's probably 10x more confused now than she was before she posted.A couple things you can do that are solid are:Buy a couple books. Doyle Brunson's Super System II is a great start. If you like tourneys, Harrington on Hold Em Volumes 1-3 are all excellent pickups as well.Other than that, scan through strat sections of the forum and get a feel as to what ppl are doing online these days.Nothing really beats practice. The more you play, with study, the better you shall become. There isn't shortcuts, but as long as you keep your head and soak up as much outside information as possible, you'll be just fine. :club:

fwiw the fact that you can read half of your cards makes you better than half the players in my SNGs

Don't kick yourself over folded cards.Get a good starting hand chart until you feel comfortable with the game and post flop play.Enjoy it.

Cappy's right when he says that practice or experience in the game will help you a lot. I have some poker books but haven't read them closely but I find that the more I play, the better I understand it. (that seems way too obvious). It could be different though because I play HORSE where some people have no clue what's going on.Also, don't pay too much attention to what you would have had if you didn't fold. Concentrate on making the right decisions.

I am sooooooooo sorry to have showed up late, and to be the one to have to bear the bad news..........but women aren't allowed to play poker anymore :club: Legislation has just been passed. However, the baking of pies and vacuuming is still totally allowed, so at least that's cool. Now as for the difference between no limit pie baking and limit pie baking. I always suggest starting with limit until you get the specs down, and then get into NL pie baking.

Does the legislation allow any sort of flexibility? Like I bake pies for all the congress people and they let me play poker?

The only loophole is that you make Daniel some pottery.
