Kk - Any Way Not To Get Broke?

Recommended Posts

Full ring-game, NL, 0.25/0.50, Partypoker.UTG limps ($50), button limps ($60). I ($60) raised to $3 with KK. Utg folds and button reraises to $8. I raised to $24. He reraised to $40. I went all-in (calling would just delay this and I didn't feel I could fold). He called. No reads on him. Did I play this correctly? If he did have AA (and I'm not saying he did), is there any way not to get broke in this hand, assuming the flop brings no A?

With what you've invested so far, you go broke here. You know what they say - the fourth raise is pure, he has AA, but you call anyway...you can always suck out remember.Other than that, see the brazillion threads about folding KK pre-flop!

Minimum forum conditions for making an acceptable fold with KK preflop:Any situation going 6 bets for 250BB+ preflop against competent players at stakes of 3/6NL or above online or the AA being exposed before you call preflop in a live game.Disclaimer: In a live setting, if your opponent exposes their AA preflop, you may still choose to call with KK since you have waited so long for the good hand.Your hand meets none of these conditions.Zach, please sticky this post for future reference :club:
