don't bother to say it I know the cavs aren't playing good teams - but still they've beat them all thoroughly all 6 games by double digits
I'm not taking anything away from the Cavs, but Denver is doing the same thing against better comp. I expected the Cavs to glide to at least the conference finals, but Denver is a bit of a surprise.

You didn't finish college, what's he supposed to think?

I remember Jalen Rose talking about taking money once. Like, people become outraged and act like it's a bunch of greedy assholes ruining the integrity of the game, but even if you have a problem with

LBJ > MJ

I really wasn't. Cleveland is playing really well, but didn't everyone expect them to through the first two rounds at least?
maybe it'll change in Atlanta but yes, I expected the Cavs to make it to the semi-finals. but probably not the way they're doing it...they are making the Hawks look like a college team. it's absolute and utter domination. James isn't even playing 40 min. right now.

You could see in round 1 how immature the Hawks were. They don't play well from behind and they lack a true dominant leader/go to guy. They just aren't fit to go up against a team like Cleveland.

most people probably expected they might play a competitive game at some point those first couple rounds. 6 straight blow outs is an eye-opener.I still cant see Denver getting by LA but maybe Houston will take care of that. Nuggets have been awesome too.

From ESPN's Daily Dime, by john hollenger.

This is not a typo: LeBron James has a playoff player efficiency rating (PER) of 42.28, which is so off-the-charts unbelievable that it's hard to put into context.Yes, he has played only six games against relatively weak teams (among playoff teams, that is), and he'll face much tougher competition starting in the conference finals. But still ... 42.28?!His playoff averages of 31.5 points, 9.7 rebounds and 6.3 assists become even more impressive when you consider he's shooting 54.1 percent, has only nine turnovers in six games and is averaging more than 13 free throw attempts per contest. And then there's that pull-up 40-footer he casually drained Thursday night to end the first half and essentially the game. It's scary to think that the game's best player might be raising his game to another level for the playoffs, but so far, that's what has happened.

He's only shooting 76% from the line, hardly superstar quality.

damn the cavs would be so good if they just had a legitimate superstar
You got that backwards, the Cavs are good because they have a superstar surrounded my excellent role players who know how to play defense.

Who doesn't get open shots against Atlanta, I can't believe how bad they are defensively considering the types of players they have. Although that's a funny statement from you, considering the 20 rants in this thread about how his teammates never hit open shots.

those were all pre mo williams and essentially pre delonte westhe's been getting his teammates wide open threes for years they're finally hitting themand then on a night like tonight when they needed it - he went off and willed them to a win108 pts in his last 108 mins+26 tonightone turnover7 straight double figure winsand before you rag on the hawks and the pistons look at all those posts you made saying "they're all NBA players"

Are you really telling me that the Pistons team was worthy of being in the playoffs? Did you watch the games, they had like 3 players (and that's being generous) show up for the series. You could have put Country Day Academy's high school team out there and gotten more effort than what the Pistons put up.The Hawks are just too young, it showed in the first round against the Heat that they have no real mental fortitude. They play fine if they are way ahead, if they get down or a few calls go against them they melt. The way Zack got tossed tonight is pretty typical of how their team acts. Right when they look like they have a shot, one call he doesn't like and he snaps and ends up in the locker room.

so does LeBron ever get any props from you for anything?is he still inferior to Wade whose team lost to the Hawks? What exactly does he have to do to make you enjoy watching a great player entering his prime?

Yea, but nothing in the playoffs has really impressed me. His team hasn't been challenged and he is piling up numbers against a team who didn't want to even show up and another that plays horrible defense. Yes, Lebron would not have gotten the Heat any further than Wade did. Well unless he gets more star calls than Wade and we know he does... so maybe he would.I do enjoy watching him, I liked watching him during the Olympics and when he gets to play in a more open creative system. I don't like watching the Cavs in general. Luckily for me I know any even remotely decent play he makes will get replayed 87 times on Sportscenter so I can get told how great he is. The reverse dunk the other night was nice, so was the matador defense that allowed him to pull it off.

well we obviously disagreehowever - do your best to find the pass he fired to Verajao under the basket from the top of the key in game 2 - i've seen the replay like 7 times and i honestly still can't figure out how he made that passas for the cavs being less fun to watch - I've wanted up tempo teams to win the NBA championship all my life - sadly that argument's been proven over and over again I don't know why a team can't have a flowing up tempo offense and still play defense but it never happens and we're stuck watching the Spurs add tropies to their collection - it sucks but it's the truth

I'm shocked someone in Cleveland of all places would disagree with me.I saw that pass, I agree it was very nice.I don't get why good defensive teams have trouble being good offensive teams too.

LOL, this shit is never going to get old. Ever.I'd tell you that Wade shot more free throws this year in less games but you'll tell me Wade drives to the hoop more. Then later when you are trying to argue against something else you'll tell me that James can only drive and needs to work on his jump shot and post up game, or he's just Dominique Wilkins, man of the greek league MVP.

I posted a link in here earlier that detailed how Lebron is the most protected star the NBA has ever seen. I'm still trying to figure out how a guy who plays "lock down defense" can go 5 games in a row without committing a foul. Every great defender I've ever seen is so stuck to his guy he is bound to pick up 2/3 fouls a game just putting in normal effort. If you watched the Hawks/Heats series at all you wouldn't have been able to tell Wade had any better of a rep in the league than Chalmers. He got absolutely no star treatment whatsoever. There is a simple explanation why Wade shoots more FT's than Lebron. It is that defenders actually try and get in his way when he drives so Wade always gets more contact. It's embarrassing how often defenders don't even try and rotate over to stop Lebron when he gets by his man. Every time I watch the Cavs play I see Lebron get by his guy with his first step and then watch two defenders think about it, but back away before actually rotating. If a team is going to beat the Cavs this year when Lebron drives, they are going to put him on his ass repeatedly.
