I have a question.Since he plays 1/2k stud with ivey, and I am sure others...He wants to help people get better...Then why charge someone with a bankroll of probably 5-10k, 3 grand.I understand nothing is free. But since he is such a great guy, what is 3k to him? compared to what it is to his students which he cares so much about.
A lot of you people are making yourself look awfully retarded.I'd like to say "you know who you are", but the sad part, is that you probably don't.
I have no idea what you are talking about Zach. I mean seriously I think you are way off base here. sw

Anybody who had the some of the things said about them in this thread would feel personally attacked.I certainly have taken the tone that you've taken as an attack on Steve's integrity and motives. If that wasn't your intention then you didn't do a very good job of making your points or I have trouble with my reading comprehension.
I see how it can be taken that way, but my intentions were not to paint Steve in a bad light. I guess I just got sick of everything painting him as some sort of hero for the FCP Community when he's just another high limit player that takes on students for guaranteed income and because they like doing it.I still believe that it was probably the wrong thing for Steve to do not mentioning a fee up front, and I firmly believe I was simply echoing the sentiments of many posters here, many of them longtime members of the community, most of which were never a part of the S7S training.I'm not attacking Steve personally, but many of the tactics he's used in his threads where he's seeking students just seem like somewhat infomercialish tactics.

I think maybe a lot of this comes from the fact that FCP as a community is still so young, and that for a lot of people, they haven't been reading RGP, 2+2 and others for years, so, the idea of coaching is still relatively new.. There's threads all over on 2+2 about coaching in just about every section, and it's nothing new or exciting when a high limit pro offers his skills, and the money is changing hands is just a given.

I don't know if this is out of line or not, but is it public knowledge what screen names Steve plays under online. Personally I would like to know, and that could possibly settle some of this arguement of him not being a world class player(although I do not see how it became and arguemnet to start?).If this is wrong to ask or private, than please just disregard.
I'm pretty sure he doesn't play online much. I do remember a long time ago he made a thread saying Let's all play the ten rebuy, and he got pretty deep too I think.

I bolded the part that I think is probably what you should have emphasized as opposed to the money.I used to teach tennis and also gave a lot of my time for free coaching Juniors. I did it because I loved the game and enjoyed the coaching. They were a great group of kids.I'm sure that Steve feels the same way about poker coaching and his team approach. He gets a lot out of it as well as the other team members.

Seriously, I've never heard of Steve outside of this forum. World class is stretching it a bit. At best he's a pro that some people look up to in the FCP community.
Drat, seriously you're only making yourself look bad in this thread for the most part.Just because somebody isn't on TV and playing a lot of tournaments doesn't meant they aren't a World Class player.
I'm guessing all you do is google stuff and think of smartass remarks all day pretending you are smarter than everyone else on here.
Apparently, Bob's words aren't enough to slow you down. You sir, have mentioned earlier that you are an educated professional. A person that one would expect to conduct themself in a somewhat respectful manner. Also one that would be wise enough to not think that someone would not give away their education for free. Please remain what we like educated professionals to be...a fish.

Giving free advice is great, but it's going to lack the relationship aspect of his program, and even though people will gain from it, it won't be anything compared to what his new students would take in. Also I doubt Steve will be able to feel the pride for his students like he did, which is part of the reason he taught anyway.
I have a prediction: a few bad apples will criticize steve's advice and call him a scammer for not telling them how to play A9o from the cutoff. An argument will ensue, with sensible people taking the advice to heart, and the whiners like XXX saying that steve owes them more.

I just want to quote this cause it's insanely idiotic. Just because someone isn't on TV doesn't mean he isn't in the top .5% of players. Have you heard of Aaron Katz? nope, he's not world class because he's never been on TV

Sir, you're going to have to take your logic and just get right the eff out. Thanks.

There may be a time when enough is enough and I think this may be it. Some intelligent people disagree on the subject, so be it. If Steve offers some free info. I think that's great. Personally, I'm going to close out and go have sex with my fiance. good night and good luck.
What a coincidence.... I just finished haveing sex with your fiance! :club::D :D :D

Zimmer you obviously are the only dissenter, if you can even call it that, over 16 years old. As always, love your posts and love sweating you in tourneys..even if it is under cover and you won't tell me your holdings. Zimmer swinging from one nut, Steve swinging from the other...now let's watch them go at it like hang tough on American Gladiators. I kid, I kid.
