tskillz187 0
Not a bad lineup now with Garnett, Allen, Pierce, Gomes, and Rondo. I'm just guessing with Rondo and Gomes aka I know nothing about the Celts. I do like Pierce a lot, I like Ray Allen a lot, and I love Garnett. I think this team could make the Eastern Conference Finals.

tskillz187 0
Is this done, or still rumored?I guess it's pending league approval. I really thought Gomes was not part of deal though, pretty sure it's Jefferson, Green, Telfair, and Ratliff.

tskillz187 0
Celtics are still hurting in the PG area.Hello Raptors thread, I'm thinking Dixon will be available he's going to get no time there and will need somewhere to go. He could fit well there behind Rondo, I always liked Dixon and think he can be a quality player somewhere instead of a journeyman.

Cappy37 0
I do like the deal from the Boston perspective. They get some instant credibility, and if Ray's ankles are dandy, they'll be poised for a run at the East Crown this year. If Lebron can take the Vienna Boy's Choir to the NBA Finals, Ray-Ray, KG, and Pierce can take the Celtics to the East Finals no sweat.Boston should be fine at the point. Someone like a Brevin Knight would be a welcome bonus, but with their trio of all-stars, the fact that Rajon Rondo can't shoot is no longer as big a deal. If I was Boston I'd focus on trying to land some semblance of a defensive presence in the post with the MLE. Pierce and Ray Ray aren't defensive juggernauts, and KG is going to need all the help he can get on the defensive end.
CaneBrain 95
Celtics are still hurting in the PG area.they have their mid level exception and Brevin Knight is available. Problem solved they need a PG who will never ever shoot and thats Knight.by the by, Bill Simmons gushin column about this trade is posted on ESPN. He thinks Kevin McHale is a secret agent for Boston or something. Amusing nonetheless.

fleung22 1
No doubt this is now the sickest Big 3 in the NBA. Who isn't going to want to watch a Celtics game??Suppose the question mark will be supporting cast and there's like no depth...if there's a big injury with the all stars there's gonna be a lot of crying in Boston. Jadaki 0
RayRay's ankle has been questionable the last few years, but man if he is healthy he has the prettiest jumper in the league. What a triangle the Celts will have though... Pierce brings the ball up, dumps to KG in the post, Allen peels of a weakside screen to get open for a three while Pierce slashes to the open basket and KG just picks which weapon hurts the opponent.Sick... fleung22 1
I was wrong Gomes is in the deal, Boston has no depth, a little crazy.Realistically they need the Big 3 to play 40 minutes every game and have people who can defend and pass. A few 3-pt specialists would be nice to spread the floor but how much cap space does Boston really have with those massive contracts?Maybe they can get John Sally to come out of retirement and they can call it the best damn worst move. They need another solid body down low, but KG makes up for a lot of weaknesses.

Wow, the league is getting so young I totally can't think of any future Hall of Famers (who are near retirement) who'd be willing to bite the $$$. Is Malone too old to come back?? tskillz187 0
Odom? I'm sure they'd kill to get Kaman or Brand. Brad Miller wouldn't suck. They could use anyone like that.

They could use anyone like that.None of these people are realistic.Realistically, they can trot a roster of B. Knight, Allen, Pierce, Garnett, and (Dale Davis? some big guy). With Rando, Tony Allen and X off the bench. You need an eight man rotation for the playoffs. The Celts have a Big 3 and good guard depth. They need to sign Brevin Knight and find two big guys who can rebound and play D. That should be good enough to win or almost win the East.
