  1. the rotation of the earth has ceased while its people stand collectively in awe of such an amazing and truly insightful post, Daniel must surely change his ways in the face of such blistering criticisms
  2. "Im not a big fan of the way DN keeps leaving.. "no offense, but some of you are being babies about this.HE PLAYED ALMOST FOUR HOURS! as far as "etiquette" goes, Dreamclown left himself wide open for how he is being treated now; maybe next time he wants a game with someone who has accomplished a lot more than he has, he will show some respect. all that "fish" talk to someone who has won championships is truly stupid and classless, far more so than getting up and leaving after a couple hours of heads-up play.Dreamclown, all you are is a kid with a bankroll... when it's gone, so are you.
  3. as cowardly as you sitting at the table, but not buying in? over, and over, and over again?you are a true pu$$y

  5. it's just a natural part of growth, and in my opinion 2+2 is a pretty nice standard to go by - i'm a fan of the new strat forums.look on the bright side, at least there will never be an "Ask Dan Druff" forum here.
  6. wow is this post ever a tall glass of SHUT THE FCUK UP for the OPso let's get this straight, in the last calendar year, DN's got a 1st place finish for $1.8 million, 3 other final tables, two WSOP cashes, and a WPT cash... sure sounds like someone with limited poker skills to me (jackass)
  7. i'm putting the BB on AKs/QQ...cap the flop, i like the turn raise, if you are re-raised on the turn it is probably time to let it go - i'm checking the river too as with two people along with you at the showdown, one of them likely has been drawing to their flush and hit, and may be relying on you to bet so they can checkraise; but i am not entirely sure about that...interesting though, i would like to see what other people would have to say (especially those who play 10/20 as well)
  8. i used to play in the dark, but i had trouble seeing my cards - turning the lights on increased my winrate by 1.85743639BB an hour
  9. I really don't want this thread to become about bankroll management. I'm not complaining about anything. I want to make sure that I'm not doing anything majorly wrong. There are many people who would say that it's ok to take shots outside of the 300 BB rule. Regardless of any of that though, I no longer plan on moving up outside of the 300 BB rule, so it's a non-issue. I would appreciate any constructive thoughts though.i am at 2/4 now for good after taking continual shots at it with 200BBs, probably took me about 3 or 4 times of having to move back down before it stuck. all it did was ki
  10. yeah, admittedly i haven't played 2/4 anywhere else but Party, where it isn't too much different than .50/1 that i've seen, same amount of fish, just more aggressive - as long as the supply of bad players doesn't dry up, i think 3BB/100 at Party 2/4 is attainable...
  11. perhaps. i was a psychology major, sometimes we can be prone to overanalysis. maybe i read too deep into it, but the tone of the OP's post struck me as being very similar to how i once was, and identifying that was a big reason i have become more successful at poker.
  12. sorry if it came off harsh - i can only post things like this because of my own brutal self-analysis as i know my own ego problems and respect issues, and it took a similarly harsh post like this for me to get my act together... when it comes down to it, the only difference between us is about 100k hands played and a couple books read, we are both still degenerates who want to make money without contributing anything useful to society
  13. my winrates for the climb from .05/.10 to current day 2/4 are as follows:.05/.10, 28k hands - 6.6BB/100.10/.20, 20k hands - 4.6BB/100.25/.50, 22k hands - 5BB/100.50/1, 51k hands - 2.8BB/100 (it was 1.2BB/100 for the first 20k or so, then i took a week off and re-read SSHE a few times and cut down tables from 4 to 3)1/2, 22k hands - 3BB/1002/4, 25k hands - 1.5BB/100 - still a lot of donkeys at 2/4, yet it is a harder game, gotta keep plugging my leaks! i have had a couple harsh downswings here, and i think as i continue to learn and actually apply what i am learning, instead of allowing the lar
  14. it's impossible for you because you are a degenerate with absolutely no self-control, nor the willingness to learn and use the time-honored methods of bankroll management that will prevent you from going broke. in your head, you believe you are somehow better than those who do, and that you are not entitled to put in the long hours of grinding and learning the correct way to play poker that the rest of us who enjoy "real profits" do. you are similar to some dude on a playground who makes a half-court shot and believes he should just be able to jump straight to the NBA, because at your core yo
  15. was gonna post about my drunken exploits today but saw "30/60" and figured i should just keep my mouth shut
  16. hey. i started with SSHE and played the UB, Prima and Stars .05/.10 for about 30,000 hands, ended up beating it for around 6BB/100 - just like econ said, don't expect to win that much at higher levels at first, i thought i sucked when i moved up because i dipped to around 1.5-2BB/100, thought i was playing bad and started pushing a bunch of hands that i shouldn't have and ended up going on a nasty tilted downswing. just know that you are headed in the right direction by reading and applying the knowledge in that book, and anything around 2/BB an hour is a great start, though we all have leaks
  17. i think his advice could have addressed the tilt issue, but i think he was right on about switching sites. i was a consistent winner for about 8 months, recently i endured a 20k hand stretch where i had a 200BB downswing at 2/4, dropped down to 1/2 and continued with a 150 BB downswing there, then down to .50/1 where i dropped about 150 BB until i had almost had enough of poker completely - after this beating (550 BB total), i withdrew from the site i was playing and deposited to another site with 300 BB to play .50/1 and immediately began to swing back upwards, now i am comfortably back at 2/
  18. just be glad i'm not a mod here, or in a fit of Hebrew rage i might have dropped the Star Of David on your ass and took away your avatar and quotes, how would you have liked that huh? huh???
  19. i don't think that you go around saying it because you hate Jewish people, you are just carelessly insensitive to how people feel when they see it being used. how about just not saying it anymore period? so we can let this post sink to oblivion already for God's sake
  20. heheh it seems like this is something you are really convicted about, so i'll let you have your "Jew" ok? as far as twisting it around, you are the one with paragraph-long dissertations about why you should be able to use the word, and all i did was tell you how i felt, but it looks like you are reaching for something so that you can be a part of this argument so how about this: that you could become a little less ignorant about this manner, i'd actually go ask a few people who are Jewish if i were you what they think about being described as a Jew, and you'll likely get the same answer i just
  21. i personally am not too offended when i hear people refer to Hebrews as Jews, but i know a lot of people who don't like it, my parents, grandparents, friends - it's disrespectful in the same way that the word "Jap" is disrespectful to Japanese people. what makes me angry is when people run around saying things like "Jewmiliated" or "Jewnied", like the OP has been doing the last couple weeks, trying to be funny - what exactly do words like that convey? respect for people who are Jewish, or is there a negative connotation attached to it? when you catch a bad beat on a poker site, why is that be
