  1. oops...looks like you don't know how to play texas hold'em.try and read that board again there and then look at the players cards, and see if you can spot it this time
  2. Phil will probably not take Daniel on in this challenge, because, as has been mentioned, he probably would not feel that it was worth the risk. Yetif he did, Phil would have a clear advantage in Hold'em. Daniel is a great player, but Phil is the best TOURNAMENT holdem player in the world, and yes, these things are tournaments, regardless of the blind structure, because they are playing until one person has all the chips, which is the definition of a tournament. There is a reason Phil has nine bracelets in Hold'em, and that reason is...because he is the best. Everyone talks about his "str
  3. I seriously hope you are joking, and if you are, then I apologize beforehand, but.......Michael Johnson "doesn't qualify" as a sprinter!?!?!?! This is the most ridiculous statement I have ever heard. What, are the 200 and 400 meter races distance races??? The 100 meters may be the most glorified event, but ask any sprinter and they will tell you that the 400 is the toughest race by far, so Johnson's greatness in the toughest event overshadow anyone else's achievements in the 100 meters.
  4. Michael Johnson owns the World Record in the 200 meters and the 400 meters (outdoor). He had five olympic golds and nine world championships. Bailey has two olympic golds and three world championships. Bailey may have won that 150 meter "World's Fastest Man" race, but let us not dog Johnson too much. He is easily one of the greatest sprinters of all time, while Bailey, while certainly good, is not in Johnson's league.
  5. Btw, I went to Truman for like 3 years, ah kirksville.Ah, so you have experienced the exciting nightlife of Kirksville. The best nights are when me and my friends decide to do something really wild. We go eat at the McDonalds near the campus, and then....later on that very same night, we go eat at....the OTHER McDonalds. Man, we are gonna have some crazy stories to tell our grandkids one day......(sw sw sw sw sw sw sw sw sw sw sw sw sw) sw sw sw sw sw sw sw sw sw sw sw sw sw sw sw sw sw sw sw
  6. The main problem you have is.....you are playing Texas Hold'em. Learn to play Seven Card Stud.....a better and more sophisticated gameLots more fish, alot more people who play holdem have read the books and all that, while very few who play online stud have a clue what they are doing. Thus, Stud is much more profitable.
  7. Stud, and especially Stud Hi/Lo, are definitely the best games to play these days, with all the No Limit Holdem players trying these games and not really having a clue what is going to. Seeing a holdem player raise my Aces and Queens on fourth street with his sixes and fours is hilarious and incredibly profitable, as many of these players do not realize how vulnerable two small pair can be in this game. As for Hi/Lo, you should only be playing hands that have the capability of scooping the entire pot. Either very strong high hands when it is apparent that noone will be going for low, or low
  8. You clearly say that this moron, the guy making the bad poker play, annoys you??? And I am saying that why the hell would this annoy you???? It is exactly the thing you want. If I have a six in that spot and a guy with a pair of fives is giving me a lot of action, I like it. You, on the other hand, say that it annoys you......so you are essentially saying that these fish handing you their money annoys you..... Must be because you have handed a significant amount of that money right back to other players....
  9. DON'T YOU DARE INSULT LON MCEAREHN!!!!!!!!!!! HIS WONDERFUL INSIGHTS AND THRILLING COMMENTARY ARE THE BEST THING THAT HAS HAPPENED TO POKER SINCE DUTCH BOYD!!!!!!!!!!(sw)
  10. So, the point of this thread is to talk about how much we hate the stupid poker players and want to hit them and belittle their play????What annoys the hell out of me is players who hat these "stupid players" because they make bad decisions.....If you are truly a good player, you can take advantage of these players and therefore you like these players. I do not want to dislike these players, I want to befriend these players and make sure they feel that they are playing very well when they hit some miracle draw. I thank them for paying my rent and for buying my food. Why would any good playe
  11. Just a few comments from me. I feel that you should usually only play small concealed pairs (4 4 ) if your kicker is higher than any other door cards remaining. for example, if I have (3 3 ) J , and there is a K and a Q showing behind me, I fold because even if you do pair your Jack, you could lose a lot of money trying to chase someone with Kings or Queens up (two pair) However, if in the same situation i have an Ace as my door card, I at least call, maybe raise because you have two ways to have the likely best hand, by catching the 3, which is a great concealed hand, or by pairing your
  12. On the second hand, from my counting, there was only $3.00 in the pot when you had to call the $.25 bring in, which would be 12 to 1. Those are still pretty good odds, so I suppose calling here could be justified since you were last to act and could therefore be sure that noone else would raise. I would probably still fold here though, because with so many chasers, I find that a 9 or ten high straight will sometimes just be the second best hand. So while I certainly couldn't tell you for sure if calling here is a profitable play, I would guess that if it were profitable, it would only margina
  13. Being hit by a runner runner flush is the worst beat of your life???? What, is this your second time playing poker ever??? Hell, I have taken worse beats than that playing Minesweeper, Solitare, and even a high-stakes game of War. Come back when you lose a hands with a low set of quads to a higher set of quads.Oh, and by the way, the true lesson here is....Play more seven card stud....a better and more sophisticated game...
  14. My words of wisdom are......Screw hold'em, play more seven card stud....a better and more sophisticated game...
  15. Alright, I am a pretty consistent winner at the .25/.50 cent Stud tables on Pokerstars, and although i know that doesn't make me anything special, I do consider myself a pretty solid player, so take this advice for what you think it is worth...Hand # : I am definitely raising on third street with only one overcard to your premium pair, if the King were to reraise, which I find to be pretty rare at these low limits, you can safely muck your two queens or maybe call one bet and see if you improve (either choice to me would be acceptable, but if i didn't improve on fourth, i would probably muck
  16. Well, I think that the true lesson to be learned here is......Play more Seven Card Stud...a better and more sophisticated game...
  17. I think we are missing the overriding lesson from Kdawg's bad day, and that is...........Play more Seven Card Stud......a better and more sophisticated game....

  19. Not that many top pros want to be on it because the blind structure is so ridiculously high that the entire tournament is pretty much an all-in crapshoot suckfest....seriously, there is very, very little skill involved. Basically you push in when you see some paint and hope for the best. I would rather watch Celebrity Poker Showdown with the incredibly awkward duo of Phil Gordon and the mildly amusing fellow from "kids in the Hall." Now THAT, my friends, is pretty damn sad.
  20. Two players playing each other until one person has no chips left, sounds like a, a......a CASH GAME!!!! Wow, next time i play a heads up sit 'n' go on Stars, i am just going to leave whenever i have the lead and demand that i get paid based upon the ratio of chips I have compared to my opponent, seeing as how it is definitely not a tournament.....sw
  21. I realize that Hellmuth may not have won a "major" tourney in a while, although the Heads Up thing was a pretty solid win in my opinion, but Hellmuth had a lot better of a World Series than Daniel did. I know Daniel got pretty unlucky on numerous occasions during these tournaments, but a bad beat is pretty much required to knock Phil out of a holdem tourney. So saying Phil's game "hasn't been there" doesn't really hold up when you look at the World Series that Daniel had.....just my opinion though.
  22. I like and respect Daniel and realize that he is likely a better all-around poker player than Phil, but Phil is THE best hold'em player in the world, hands down. His attitude stinks so people sometimes do not want to give him the credit he deserves, but he is capable of making some sick laydowns and, if i have my facts straight, all NINE of his bracelets are in Hold'em. Hellmuth would, in the long run, own daniel in hold'em. Also, I believe a heads up tourney was held with all the best pros in it and Hellmuth won, by owning Chris Ferguson in the finals. Bottom line, Hellmuth is the best hold'
  23. If I had been playing higher limits against a real solid player, I might have just called his bet on sixth street when he paired his door card, because i know he would've had to of had a pretty strong hand to call me with my raise and likely pair of aces. But against a probable fish, there was no way I put him on a boat because of his failure to raise when he hit two pair. Had he raised when the 7 came of fifth street, I would have considerd the possibility of him having two pair at that point and when the ten came on sixth, I would have just called his bet and forced him to show me a boat in
  24. Yeah, I left out the part about how he capped the betting on fourth street of a different hand with (2s 8c) 2c 5d against my (Js Jc) Kc As and dumped his last few dollars into my stack while I tried to explain to him that it was he who got pretty damn lucky in the first place. I definitely have him marked and will be looking to play with him against him soon.
  25. Just to be sure, I want to show this hand and confirm that the other player has no right to call me a fish in this situation. (.25/.50 limit stud at Pokerstars)I am dealt (As 2c) Ac, the opponent is dealt (? ?) Tc. I raise and he is the lone caller. I think he has a pair of tens, but at these tables he could well have anything. On fourth street, the board reads (As 2c) Ac 2s for me, and (? ?) Tc 4h for him. I bet, he calls. On fifth, (As 2c) Ac 2s 6h for me and (? ?) Tc 4h 7h. I bet, he just calls again. On sixth is where the action picks up, as I now have (As 2c) Ac 2s 6h 2d and he has (?
