  1. I think about 60% of my team has already been eliminated 8) cardplayer.com for updates
  2. Strangely enough, I have had that kind of luck lately. I hit Quad Aces in a live tourney on sunday night, then, in a home live SnG on tuesday night, I hit quad 4's.first hand, I had AKo. raised preflop, one caller. flop comes AA6, I check, he checks. turn, A. I check, he checks. River 6. I bet, he folds.Second hand, pocket 4's. Flop comes 864, 3 diamonds. I check, he makes a moderately sized bet (this guy bets every flop, kinda funny actually), I call. Turn comes a 4th diamond. I bet, trying to represent a high diamond, he calls. River, 4. I check, he bets, I raise, he calls with.... A high, n

  5. I guess my bubble play is my only concern. I have a difficult time playing more cautiously around the bubble if my poker instincts tell me to make a certain move post-flop.for instance, in the 13th place finish, top 9 were paid. blinds were 700/1500 and I had about 12000, which was about average. I was on the button with 10dJd. everyone folded to me and I limped (which was a mistake, probably should have raised, but didn't want to commit so much of my stack with a drawing hand). SB completes, BB (large stack) checked.flop came AAT rainbow. Sb checked. BB bet 1500. I had been watching BB and he
  6. yup, the first 4 are the cash casino tourney. the 7th place was calgary casino. the others were games hosted in community halls by friends of friends and such.to the last poster. The 7th place finish, the blinds were ridiculous at the final table. average stack was 28000, big blind was 8000. I was in BB with 9J suited, had 14k left, flop came 679, pushed all-in, up against 99.as for the last place finish, it isn't exactly as it sounds. it was a rebuy tournament, and rebuys had just ended, I had 1600 chips, blinds were 100-200. I raised to 600 with AJ suited from 1st position BB called. flop ca
  7. well I guess it depends on his/your point of view. personally, in a SnG, I'd rather see the button win this hand than the guy who is all-in. The button wins, he builds his stack sure, but you are down to 5 players. The all-in wins, he triples up, and you still hjave 6 players left, and no short-stack. I'd like all 3 players to see this through to the river so there are more outs to eliminate the all-in. Bluffing you out of a 100 chip side pot then losing the main pot to the all-in would be silly.
  8. personally, I think the key here is that the side pot is all but empty. If the Button is a reasonably intelligent player, he isn't going to push into an empty side pot with a hand that he isn't certain will beat the all-in guy.I think check/fold is the best option in this instance, as a check-down is more than likely, unless he has a monster.
  9. I've started playing live tourneys a lot lately, and, while I feel like I am playing well, and finishing well, it hasn't exactly been profitable for me. I have played 7 live tourneys in the last 2 months or so, and here are my results.1. Spent $42. 110 entrants. finished 14th. paid $02. Spent $62. 110 entrants. finished 27th. paid $03. Spent $32. 70 entrants. finished about 50th. paid $04. Spent $32. 110 entrants. finished 12th. paid $05. Spent $50. 45 entrants. finished 45th (hehe) paid $0, but won a $100 chip-set for finishing last place :P6. Spent $60. 29 entrants. finished 1st (actually ch

Yeah, I'll toss in a vote for the Color of money. Definitely better than poolhall junkies, even though christopher walken is awesome.
  11. haha. get this for an 'in the dark' hand. I was in a live home game a few weeks ago, and we are down to the final 3 (winner takes 80 bucks), I am the chip leader and on the button. I raise to 3x the BB in the dark, both call. Flop comes K55, 2 spades. both check, I check, still haven't looked at my cards. Turn comes another spade. First guy bets, second guy raises all in. I check my cards: KK. I go all in, original raiser calls.I have KK for full boat, kings full of fives.Guy who went all in has 5A, for three of a kind, 5's.Original raiser has AQ of spades for nut flush.I win the tourney
  12. I busted out early with AK. Blinds go up quick, it's double up or die. I died 8)
  13. Anyone else playing in the 10k freeroll (no restrictions) on bet365 that starts in 15 minutes? My name on bet365 is Dubey8989, post your name if you are playing!
  14. no, it just dominates my thinking, to the point of getting ridiculous..For instance, I am playing golf yesterday. I am in the trees, in a bad lie, but I have a clear path to chip out to the fairway. I look up and see a small spot I could possibly hit it through to go at the green. I think about it for a second and think to myself (in these words) "nah, thats going all in with 2-7 offsuit, not smart Dave".I am such a loser
  15. Absolute sucks. And the software is rigged, I am almost certain.
  16. good article, except for:"Great players only play hands when they have ''the nuts,'' or unbeatable cards; otherwise they fold hand after hand."heh.
  17. why would he call? He'd be stupid to fold in that situation. I think he played the hand fine actually, He bets 90 with his nut flush draw to build the pot if he hits, you min raise him, of course he is going to call. You show weakness by checking the turn, he semi-bluffs and you put him all in. At this point there is nearly 2000 in the pot and he has 375 chips left, and 12 outs. you expect him to fold?
  18. Q2 offsuit.I am compelled to limp with this hand whenever I see it, mostly because I am superstitious. When I first started playing regularly, there were 5 or 6 times that I folded Q2o pre-flop, and flop 2 pair or a boat. from then on I always see a flop with q2 if it is cheap.
  19. If he had aces, he would have just called your 60, pre-flop, instead of re-raising it to 120.are you joking? if he had Aces he would/should have re-raised more than the minimum, then he should/would have raised all in when the OP raised to 500. Slow playing big hands pre-flop is retarded. No offense intended to the OP, but you played this hand like a donkey. You can't put somebody you've never played with on pocket aces in the first hand of the tourney, especially when his betting pattern definitely does not suggest he has aces. The ONLY hand I would be worried about with that flop considering
  20. there is nothing mathematical about seeing a huge pot with 2 people in, and seeing a chance to win the tournament in one hand. You Say 2:1 pot odds, he sees the same thing but doesn't call it that. so, while the term 2:1 on his money might mean nothing to him, the basic concept still played into his decision.
  21. Maybe it was a good call, maybe it wasn't, reads can change everything.but, why did you come on here and make a post asking if it was a good calldown if you have already decided in your head that it was a brilliant call and refuse to accept any other opinions?
  22. I hate playing A2-10 offsuit, always gets me into trouble.
