  1. Yes. I have made many great laydowns and raises by using the info you can get. if you're not using it, your opponents are. It is the best fifty bucks I have ever spent on poker.Orville
  2. For the past six months I have begun playing 1+.10 sng's on ultimate bet. I have noticed that if I shut off the TV and really try to concentrate I actually do worse than when I watch TV surf the net and play a sng. Has anyone else had that happen to them. Maybe it's just luck but I believe that winning a 1 dollar sng is mostly luck anyway. Thoughts.Orville
  3. Got it for Christmas two years ago. Had it read the same day. Not really about poker strategy. It's more about the life of being a pro and the pitfalls that can get you in trouble. It does have some sample hands, but it is more of a coffee table bookOrville
  4. unlike most players on this site I am only able to play .01/.02 NL on UB. I have a very small bankroll and plan on grinding it out and moving up levels. I will never be able to do this for a living, but my goal is to work up to winning a couple of hundred dollars or so a month. I bought PT and now have just over 10,000 hands in my database. My BB/100 Hands is 5.14. I would like it to be higher but at the micro levels I have to play I find that you really have to play tight. No bluffing for the most part as no one folds anyway. I figure that most of my sessions are winners but I would lik
  5. Works great. Downloads directly to your computer. You actually buy a key code for it. You can email the folks at Poker Tracker and they will send you another key code for a second computer for free. I assume if you want to put it on more than two computers you would have to buy it again.Orville
  6. I tried to search for what I was looking for but could not find it. If someone knows of a link to what I'm looking for please tell. If this duplicates someone else's post just have a mod. delete it.My question is this: With the World Series of Poker Main Event becoming so large, will some of the "big name" pros just skip it because it has gotten so big? In Bluff magazine Doyle Brunson said that he doubted that a big name pro could win the main event. He went on to say that when he sits down at a table people will say "Well, I know you have me beat, but I just want to break the legend." I
  7. Are there any poker programs that will keep live stats for tournament play? I am currently using Poker Tracker on UB. It keeps live stats for ring games with game time plus but unless I can't figure it out, you have to manually put in the stats for tournaments. Am I missing something, or do I need a different program? Thanks, Orville
  8. First of all, the deck should remain on the table at all times. I really like this advice. If he is your "friend" then he will get your "hint" and stop doing what he is doing. If he does not, then he is not y0ur friend no matter what you think. None, and I mean none of your advice to keep the deck on the table will suffice. I think if a "friend" cheats you then that person is not really your friend and should have his nut cut off with a blunt knife.Orville
  9. That might be the most idiotic thing I've ever read. I have a low bankroll and I know quite a bit about poker. Just because someone can only afford to play micro to low limits does not mean they are not smart with no knowledge of poker. Not everyone is out to make vast amounts of money playing online. I can only afford to play at micro limits right now as I also have a family to take care of.Maybe the pro's at FT should have a regular chat time so they don't have to worry about chatting while they play. Maybe only people that are actually playing should be allowed to chat. If you let one
  10. It's ok. You aren't very bright so I won't flame you. Look down on the page about three posts. Maybe you could look at that thread. Just a thought. That post was not available when I posted mine. If you can't post anything constructive then don't post douchclownYou started your thread at 8:17. The thread entitled, "Monitors for Multi-Tabling" was started at 7:24. Shut the fuck up.It's obvious that when I posted my thread the other thread did not show up on my screen or I would have simply read that. If all you can do is try to insult people, simply do not post. If you can't offer anything to

  13. Can anyone tell me what size monitor is the best for multi-tabling? What is the best screen resolution? For higher resolution, do I need a better video card than the one that came with the computer? Thanks Orville
  14. Has anyone read Phil Gordon's new book or seen his DVD? Are either of them any good? Thanks Orville
  15. I hate when you have to explain to someone that they don't need to fold they can just check. I know I shouldn't complain if someone wants to fold their cards when everyone else might check, but I hate when that same person then says "I would have won if I stayed"I also hate messy tables. I am a chip wrangler. I like the chips to be put in the middle after a round of betting. I think this makes it less confusing when people bet, raise, re-raise, and check-raise. Of course I might just be really anal.Orville
  16. It was on the ESPN Poker Club page. I tried to find it but can't get the page to load. I will keep tryingOrville
  17. 15-20 playersCheck out the Tourney forum under strategy. There is a thread stickied at the top with a tourney structure. Thanks for the tip I forget to check that out.Orville
  18. I really enjoy some of the avatars on this site. My question is, how can I make my own avatars especially the animated ones? Thanks Orville
  19. I am running a home tournament and am wondering what the starting chip count should be. I am thinking of starting everyone with 1000 in chips. Blinds would start at 25-25 and go up every 30 minutes. Should the starting chip count be higher. I am looking to get done in about 5 hours.ThanksOrville
  20. I really agree with that. Play money really teaches you how to be patient, because you know if you start playing poorly someone will suck out on the river. I personally think micro limits and play money involve the same strategy. Play tight and let the other players hang themselves.Orville
  21. From ESPN's poker chat this past SeptemberDavid (Washington DC): Do you think it is useful to play online with play money, or does that keep the style of play from being realistic? Scott Fischman: I think that play money is useful for learning hand values, but thats it. Learning how the actual game works and learning how often 2 pair is good, for example, to kind of get a feel for how good your hands are. You cant really get a competitive feel and competition is important. Discuss: Is it at all useful to play online with play money.Orville
  22. Yeah, I don't mind limping with AA, but sometimes you got to say "What the frick" and bet to protect.Orville
  23. This is kind of an off shoot of the least/favorite hands thread. What are your top ten starting hands?Mine are:1. AA2. KK3. A-K suited4. A-K off suit5. QQ(yeah I know I'll take some heat on that one)6. JJ7. A-Q off suit8. KQ suited9. Ax suited10. AQ suited(even though poker tracker says I'm losing money on it)This is a list of favorite starting hands, not necessarily the top ten starting hands. Thanks for the reply.Orville
  24. LOLI tried that once but mine is to small so I had to flop my entire body on the table. Needless to say, no one was pleasedOrville
  25. Finally got this to download. It seems pretty cool. How does everyone go about consolidating tables. I plan on having 2 tables of 10 each. When do I move people around to keep the tables relatively even. Last time one table had 4 while the other table had 8. I was not sure if I should move a couple off the table of 8 and put them on the table of 4. I then was not sure of whom to move. Any ideas?Orville
