  1. i had something written behind that. Don't know where it went.basically saying checking and looking for cheapshowdown, possibly calling if i think villian wants to turn his hand into a bluff. (If we have air, we bet the next street, if we're scared, we check to him)I still am not so easily inclined to be done with the hand here though. There's a lot to feel in a HU game, but this just seems so over-aggro/stuborn.stubborn in that he coldcalls the 3 bet with worse pairs. I think the 9 just gets it in, doesn't smooth call.i don"t know.... I'm more worried about a trapping pair here probably, b
  2. For the most part all I see is him flailing around like a smaller/less talented version of Ray Lewis and blindside hits to quarterbacks.
  3. It's clearly a change up hand. I'm not sure if I'm biased because I will not c-bet every flop if I'm raising a lot preflop just so that I don't fall into too much of a predictable pattern. And often heads up, I'm going to C/R if I think he's just trying to pick up the pot. AA-JJ should be looking to get paid off considering he's been so aggressive. When I'm raising "too much" i'm playing my big hands fast because sooner or later some one is going to play back at me with something less. So for my big hands, I usually don't take my foot off the gas, and I just don't see him doing it here if h
  4. Probably fold to the push. If smooth called, probably c/f the river. (C/F as I doubt he'll value bet against ace high with a smaller pair).
  5. Well i bet the turn just because I envision a number of scenarios that I'm going to face two bets c/cing. Villian bets to protect his hand, realizes he's beat but that we're weak and tries to bluff river. Villian has a 6 and we're in bad shape. Draws hit and villian bluffs those, etc. I'd rather bet/fold against a player that I don't know their tendencies to make the hand play easier then start calling off chips with no idea where I am.I generally reserve C/C lines for river decisions against unknowns and turn and river against known aggressive players that I can put a fairly good range on.
  6. Probably push the flop. If you make the decision to try to dodge a club, catch another bluff and push the turn (as you did), I like the way the rest of the hand plays. The ace handcuffs you since he could be semi-bluffing Ax and then you can't beat anything anymore at the river. But still, push the flop.
  7. I like betting the turn. (know you didn't want to hear that.)With the str8 and flush draw I'd say:If you're against a habitual bet the pot user, then maybe you can just C/C turn and re-evaluate river. If you're against a guy who bets between 1/2 pot to full pot, I'd say you get it in now since he's more likely on a missed draw.
  8. wild aggressives do this with air often. Check cause you missed expecting late position caller to take a stab and then C/R trying to plant it into their head that you can't do this with anything less than KK. What does "means sth" mean? ie his preflop raise range is large? Yes, you beat a bluff, but you're up against a guy who bluffs a lot. Call flop, call turn.
  9. Call. Villian has A9 suited, he think he has the best hand. sigh.
  10. Fabricated hand to justify playing JJ-KK as fast as possible and punishing other players?
  11. Actually you're probably right. I was thinking QJ10, but you're probably right.
  12. I don't think Matasow's scared, I think he's playing ranges. I think he would have been ok getting a lot of chips in at the flop and willing to accept a beat to AA except he got the 2nd worst flop possible for KK. Against phil's range (not considering the 27 prop) he's absolutely crushed at the flop.
  13. button vs. lagtard BB, then this could be close. UTG vs. lagtard BB, I think this is a spew since you need to find air to win the pot, and you're not winning anymore money from air by pushing. Maybe bluffing on the flop, but when the semi-bluff scare card gets there on the turn, you should give it up.
  14. I think JJ is usually easier to play for a reraise preflop. So yes, I think you should reraise to $20. If I get called in one spot. I don't know if I'd really like betting $50 and calling a raise though($30 more). What type of boards are we betting into? How many boards are we going to end up turning out hand into a bluff on the flop? If the villian has any sort of aggressive post flop tendencies I'd probably be looking to C/R flops like this and c/c a Queen high flop. I may still be behind, but atleast in this case, I've manipulated a situation where I'm more likely to get my chips in good s
  15. See, I really didn't understand how everyone got on Mike about not calling with KK here. (Disregarding the 2/7 game). You can't beat anything in Phil's reraising range at the flop. Let alone the two streets of betting that phil played like a set. I check the flopFold the turn. Never see the river.
  16. Preflop is fine. Don't listen to anything the contrary.Flop, yeah if you raise preflop a c-bet on that flop is pretty much mandatory. Since you didn't, you shouldn't raise preflop and anyone who says it's fine is horrendous.Turn, is the most interesting part of the hand since you have to deal with the following: 1. Your lack of a bet looks like weakness and that you are stubbornly floating, so he could be bluffing. 2. He could have hit a 4 and he's eating a few of your flush outs and you might go break if you catch good on the river. So calling the turn is really thin because you might have n
  17. Hero stacked off. And if you're not looking to get all your chips in when you hit the strongest hand you could find, you shouldn't be floating regardless of that price. Plus You're only hitting "clean" trips here 1 time out of 20 pulls at the turn anyway. So why call getting 9:1 if 1. you're not looking to get paid off on your strong hands and 2. you're not getting the right price to catch up? It has to be one of them to make the flop call.
  18. lead/3-bet the flop. since no one threw that out htere.
  19. IMO, you're offering significant reverse implied odds to any of your outs though.
