i just really want to say that i applaud those on this thread that are willing to have an intelligent discussion without inserting their own wildly unfounded opinions and without delving into personal attacks. i love the fact that there can be individuals, with the ability to get personal and get offensive because they are hiding behind their computer screen, and they still choose to be civil and maintain an intelligent discussion.awesome.

i tend to overplay when i hit the flop from the SB/BB...That's why i play less hands than what might be +EV to do. Until i work on my post-flop play i'm cutting down on the hands i limp in with through the SB...It's very tough to play in the SB/BB when you hit the flop...definitly something a lot of people need to work on.

i want to emphasize the fact that i really believe this to be table dependant. I really believe for the majority of the tables at the.50/1 level that it would be correct to re-raise in this situation because you will get called by hands that you will have beat or dominated...i'm going to have to re-read this entire thread again though...a lot of good points were made that is making me re-think how to play AKs.i might just be stuck in a limit mindset...i'm just getting back into NL

unfortunately you can't have some standard raising play when you're playin g live. The amount you raise is totally dictated on your table. If everyone is calling 3x 4x bb then you have to be willing to raise upwards of even 9x 10x the bb. Just experiment raising different amoutns until you find the MINIMUM amount to raise that will get enough people to respect your hand.
