What are a few games included in that chart and where might I find one like it? I've been thinking about an excel sheet like that, but no sense re-inventing the wheel. Thanks in advance

What's this?!? A rational, cogent, substantiated position?!? Did you mistakenly wander into the wrong forum? You were the person that blew the bell curve for everyone else in microeconomics class right?Seriously though, I think the day of having only 4 majors to choose from are quite some time off. Naturally, the smaller sites will go broke or be bought out by the larger firms at some point, such is the natural flow of all industries. However, with the huge expansion of poker, which IMO hasn't peaked quite yet, there are plenty of consumers to fuel numerous small sites. It will be when the ind

Here's the rules regarding shuffling that I use for the most part:1. In a player-dealt game, the pack must be shuffled and cut before the cards are dealt. The recommended method to protect the integrity of the game is to have three people involved instead of only two. The dealer on the previous hand takes in the discards and squares up the deck prior to the shuffle. The player on the new dealer’s left shuffles the cards and then slides the pack to the new dealer, who gets them cut by the player on his right.(I don't use the player to the left to shuffle, that seems to be going a little to the

There's a new pokertracker bot that YOu can bring to live games. It's modeled after the head of Phil Ivey (but smaller) and You just use it as a card protector.dim...348 posts...347 are probably just attempts to flame and the other one is probably just a futile attempt to form a coherent, logical thought. In summation, dim if you can't provide anything useful to my post please just move along.

some help with smash's theory please!
hank213 replied to adidas freak's topic in General Poker Forum
good at poker, bad at spelling. or even consistency.seriously, everyone, stop trying to argue against this strategy. if you were ever good at low limit NLHE, you did something similar to it, anyway. if you tried something more nuanced or "advanced," you didn't win as much money as you could have. and if you worked on your game and tried to adjust it to the circumstances at low limit NLHE, you found more and more that your game looked EXACTLY like this strategy.if you're arguing otherwise, it's all ego, and most of it unjustified. get over it. I for one am not arguing against this strategy, as -
Kathy without a doubt is not the most photogenic player by a far stretch. However, her experience in investments gives some finely honed analytical skills which translate very well to NL hold 'em...especially in a tournament environment where one mistake eliminates you. Do I "like" her as a player...no...do I respect her as a player....without a doubt.

some help with smash's theory please!
hank213 replied to adidas freak's topic in General Poker Forum
As one who started is playing smaller blind NL I have to disagree. If you play smart, learn from the smallest loss and/or victory, why wouldn't you stand a better chance at higher limits? It seems the fundamental disagreement we have is about how much effort one is willing to put into truly learning the game. Again smash, you do deserve some credit, I actually played your strategy for 3000 hands online and did quite well. But, I gave it up to learn instead of make a few bucks at a time.PSI appreciate that ya didn't just flame me...you prove that a civilized discussion is still possible on the -

I can't argue with the idea of having a core strategy against the chimps, it is 100% valid. My point is that should someone adopt this strategy and make it their own without truly learning the finer points of NLHE, they will pay other peoples mortgages. All in all though smash, you should get some author credit in an "online hold 'em" book. -
What does that have to do with my post? I just don't see it.He basically said. Idiots play low limits. Idiots play "mid" limits. You aren't going to get away from it, so take the good with the bad.I think that's what he meant.- JordanJordan thanks. That is exactly where I was coming from. TheOne: Here's what I'm saying in terms that are more plain: The poker world is flooded by people that flat out refuse to learn the game. Dipsh*ts abound. Take the hit, refocus, and then Bust that Mutha!

This is a valid strategy....If:You never want to move up in limits(see PS)You are extremely patientYou want to make a little bit of moneyPSBy constantly playing these admittedly weak tables you will never hone your skills to the level necessary to play for "real" money. If that is your objective there is nothing wrong with it. However, if your desire is to move up "the ladder" then playing this will will gain nothing more than a bankroll you will lose when you move to where some money is.In essence, you are negating any +EV from that particular hand at any higher limit because you negate the f -
Like many things in life we laugh cuz it's funny and we laugh cuz it's true. If the initial raise was 1.75 I'm guessing you were at .25/.50 table or so...Heck I've played 5-10 kill pots in a B&M where donkeys will call all the way down with that hand...Just remember you didn't make the mistake, the other person did. Regroup, pick your spot and bust that mutha!

Not a bad idea, dunno if I'm gonna put that on a spreadsheet so much because the format doesn't lend itself so well to extensive notes, but maybe start a player dbase, especially for online players. And since I see a lot of the same faces when I go to casino I'll probably include them as well. Thanks for the tip.

Yeah I looked at it, but I wanted something that I could customize a bit more should I feel the need to do so. But thanks anyhoo.

Hi all,Over the past couple of months I've been playing with ever increasing frequency. Initially I was playing in one or two homegames a week accompanied by trips to the casino poker rooms about once month. For the past two months or so I've been playing between 3 and 5 home games per week along with trips to the casino about 2-3 times per month. So I decided it was well past time for me to start keeping records of my sessions so I can get a better grasp on how I'm actually doing. So I created a handy dandy little spread sheet with these column headings:Date-obviousGamep-Blind structure, tour

Neteller. You can call them to expedite their call to you if you are an impatient jerk like I was when I opened my account. I opened my account on a Friday night and didn't want to run the risk of having to wait until Monday business hours to get the security call back. It was a nice simple process and I have nothing but high marks for the customer service I received from the rep at Neteller. (forgive if I sound like a shill for 'em, but I think good service should be rewarded and bad service punished, end of plug) Call 'em up, answer a couple of questions, they call you right back, answer a co

re: borgata wpt - did dn slow roll or not?
hank213 replied to ononimo's topic in General Poker Forum
David Williams DID seem annoyed, in my opinion, when he said "nice slow roll" ... but I generally agree with your point about taking time when calling a large bet with only an overpair.I do remember David saying "Nice slow roll," but I didn't actually sense annoyance from David when he said it. So I guess we just differ in opinion. We probably will never know, unless I decide to use my telepathic abilities. I don't like to use my powers unless it's absolutely necessary though.I have to agree that David wasn't annoyed, he rather to seemed to say it in a jokingly sarcastic way with the way he
