If he has a set he caps this flop. My money is on AQ. If you are going to 3 bet the flop, you have to at the least lead the turn.

I fold on 3rd or 4th, i dont like playing 8's with nothing going for them

Stud 8, Rolled Up On A Short Table
bassplayer45459 replied to Cappy37's topic in Other Poker Cash Games
Yeah, you are getting called by a weak two pair, a straight, or any made low here. I check because a made low is most likely and villian is probably trying to steal it from you. Check call -
Second Seemingly Standard Hand
bassplayer45459 replied to SpiderGuard's topic in Other Poker Cash Games
3rd St: A argument could be made for raising here, but i dont like to put pressure on with an 8 low, even if they are all suited.4th St: Peeling off a card here is fine. We can deduce that the bettor most likely has a buried pair of aces, or is rolled up. No clue what the guy with the 9 showing is doing5th St: I hate your raise, but that is me personally. So many spades are already out, there is no reason to raise except to push out the low, even then i dont like the raise because he is only staying in if he is beating an 8 or drawing to beat one. With this action, i say to myself that -

Min raise is ugly, make it bigger. Turn check is bad, lead out here. River is a call if he leads -
Starting Hand Selections In Razz And Stud 8
bassplayer45459 replied to Sheiky's topic in Other Poker Cash Games
Three suited babies ( 8 or lower ) starting in stud 8 are about as good as it gets.Playing a 9 low in Razz is completely situational based on your opponents cards and the ones that are already up. -

Stud 8, Using Inexperienced Players Against Solid Ones
bassplayer45459 replied to Cappy37's topic in Other Poker Cash Games
I think nick the shtick has a full house, 3's full of kings to be honest. His bet when a 3 came is very odd and my money is on he has buried 3's Betty's low is what we are worried aobut, i think we do not cap this, i think we fold when he hits that king and we deduce what betty has. It is very close, but the only outs i think you have are an ace and 3 here. -
Todd Brunson wrote a great cardplayer article once where in an omaha tourney he flopped the nut straight with 2 to a flush on the board and he led out and it was raised and re-raised back to him and he folded the nuts saying that all it took was one player to have a spade draw and another to have the same straight and he was behind. With that said, fold pre-flop

Avoid A Possible Cooler? Or No Chance?

Yeah, that makes sense. I like your range of hands here. It is either a monster, or you are far ahead. -

AK leads at this flop 90% of the time -
First off, anyone raising with a Q up with that much action in fron of him in Stud 8 better have aces buried or else they are dumb. If more of your diamonds were not dead and you were drawing to a 6 or 7, i think a raise is warranted by you because your draw is too good at the moment.I actually fold this on 4th street, you missed another low card and you have seen so many diamonds and other low cards out there already. The A is obviously drawing to a 7 low currently and the guy with the 4 showing has more babies hidden too, the Q is still dumb or has aces buried. Seat 4 is just dumb raising
-
Yeah, my only argument is at these levels, the above and beyond thinking is generally not there and i usually like to play my hands striaght forward, but i think we can all agree that he makes aces up here 90% of the time, the other 10% is calling with one pair and praying to make two and he makes trips
-
Eh, you missed a bet on 5th, but i think you are still good here. I honestly think he is leading with A's up and thinks you have a weak two pair. Calling is a must, raising is a good play in my mind as well. you disguised your hand very well
-
Call everytime unless ou are positive he has it...otherwise take some time to type in "nice hand donkey" , or "2 outs, unreal how bad you are" in the chat window before calling

6 handed ring game. dealt 4 5 6 7 or 2 3 4 5 or 6 7 8 9 suited or not. 2 limpers to you in the cutoff, do you raise? I like to raise with these hands...what about everyone else, are we making more money by attracting more into the pot?
