  1. fold it to a raise, limp with it and if you dont hit a set get out.if you are in position or are in control of the table, raise with it and bet out on the flop if your opponents show weakness.dont go all in with it for no reason. and NEVER CALL RAISES WITH IT, unless you are 100 percent sure you will hit a set. and if you are 100 percent sure you will hit a set, you are stupid because you probably wont.
  2. yes!only site i play on, its great. i've been playing the freerolls, 800 men, you're always trying to cash in the top 27 to win like 23 cents....but its so fun man, you can feel the intensity in the room (um, on the screen) as play whittles down to 40, 35 players. i love it. bugzeeeeez
  3. ok, then probably stu ungar. he made the most money, i'm not sure if its more than ivey but he didn't play as much either.
  4. Mr. Arieh (with the utmost respect):i dont think doyle is really an "accomplishment". he may or may not be the best player ever, and he may be the most accomplished, actually he must be. but i think in this context, accomplishment would be like, feat. i think that without a doubt, the greatest play ever made was stu ungar's call with 10 high. to the person who mentioned that, thank you and you are correct. but even that isn't really an accomplishment.i think that chan's 1-1-2 is the best. when you win back to back, and then place second in pretty big fields, it really means something. it means
  5. i kinda agree with both sides here.i can't stand the "it's better to win a small pot than lose a big pot" statement. think about it. it sounds so stupid. when is it ever good to lose a big pot? but you know what's even better than winning a small pot? winning a big pot. i think that sometimes you have to trap people and slowplay, and if you get outdrawn oh well, but keep in mind that you will be winning money in general when you trap people with the best hand. that being said, i still don't think KK is quite the hand to do this with. i can understand doing this with AA, or TPTK on the flop (a
  6. THE ONLY POSSIBLE REASON NOT TO RAISE WOULD BE TO ASSUME THEY HAVE QUADS, AND THIS WOULD BE THE WORST PLAY EVER. i've seen players make this call, not realizing that the only hand that can beat them is quads. pay quads off, but raise man. seriously. a chop isnt gonna somehow change if you just call. shut up and raise.
  7. weeeeeeeeeeeeak. my friend was in 1st position with like 7 players to go in a 10 dollar tourney and he had pocket jacks and folded. we started screaming at him for what a huge moron he was, and it turns out the flop came 832 and the big blind had 83, so my friend defended that it was the right move 100 percent.that was the 2nd worst fold ever. this is the first.
  8. if you raise on the flop you are revealing that you have a deuce, because you are the big blind and you saw a flop for free, meaning that one could put you on anything. i like the smooth call. you kinda gotta.
  9. i was playing an 800 man freeroll and we were down to heads up play. (my first time ever going this far). anyway, i had about 1 million to his 7 million. what do you know, his computer freezes, and i win the next 25 hands or so by raising every pot and he is on autofold. so the chip count is about 7.7 million to his 300 thousand. then, wouldnt you know it, my computer freezes, he gets back on, does the same thing to me, and once i get back on, there he is with every chip. so heads up play was completely dehumanized. sucked. i talked to live help but they said that since it wasnt a server probl
  10. yeah basically its like you are 60 percent to hit your hand, but he is 20 percent to hit his (2 outs times 5 cards times 2 percent). so about 40 percent, then add in your straight possibilities and it works out to about 57/43 him.
  11. a few weeks ago, i raised in 1st position with Krablar (not having read this post at all), and i got 1 caller. flop came 559, the SB who called my raise bet out. I thought my hand might be good, so I decided to call. turn was a J, he bet out big, i called him down anyway. river was a 6, he put me all in. this was a tourney. I had started the hand with about 9k in chips, and by the river i was left with about 4500. I stared him down for a few minutes, and thought long and hard, and finally called off all my chips with K3 high. the fool flips over Q7, and i flip up king high to a bunch of "OHHHH
  12. i really hate all this limping that happens around here. grow a pair, you have a pair. raise. raise big, you have the best hand. i hate it when people limp and hope to catch a set. i can see people doing this with like 22-66, but COME ON. you have a good hand. raise and reraise. on the flop, i see it as a raise or fold situation. if you think you have the best hand, raise it up. if you don't, fold and stop chasing a stupid 2 outer. the problem is not your bad read on the flop, the problem is the way you played your read. if you raise the flop, and he calls or comes back over the top, you know
  13. no way guys. limping?!?!!i know that its a bad idea, but often times i just stick it all in and hope for the best. but instead of that, i think the best play is to absolutely jam it preflop. raise, reraise, maybe even rereraise. i mean, your hand is good. its nothing like threes. your hand wins if it doesnt hit a set. i think a pair of jacks are something of an equivalent to a straight flush draw on the flop. they end up winning about 50 percent of the time, so the way to play it is to jam jam jam so that they might fold too. jacks are really strong, but you need to protect them. limping with
  14. thanks. i did ask for it. but the thing is, if they are drawing to a boat, like they have trip 9s or something, they are still not gonna lay it down. so in effect, i'm saving money for 5th st, in case the board 2 pairs or something. other than that, i still feel like i trapped him with two outs, but even so i see the logic to your post. thanks.
  15. ok so we're in a freeroll tourney where you get 10k in chips. i have like 9k or something, i'm on the big blind with A2 of hearts. a few people call to me and i check. flop comes 969 with two hearts. i figure i should be aggresive with my good draw and i bet out 500. (blinds were 75-150 and i bet 500 into about an 800 pot). i get a caller. the big stack with like 33k in chips, he's been playing really aggressively and i knew he didnt have to have a hand. turn is the 8 of hearts. so i've made the nut flush barring a boat or a sf, neither of which he is too likely to have. so i bet weak, 150, ho
  16. sarcasm................................................
  17. 40-50 is average assuming you are 4 months old AND you bluff too much.shoot for about 75
  18. why would i tell you that? you've seen your cards, I haven't. all i know is what my hand is.
