  1. Lets look at this from another angle...Ivey's only interest is not just the playing of the poker, and the potential profit from that.Look at the buzz it is already creating around Full Tilt, and the free advertising it will get in all the press. I'm sure a PR guy would be able to put a price on the exposure this is getting FullTilt and the potential revenue it could generate, and I'm sure that the ad value + odds laid by Durrr makes this an extremely + EV proposition for Ivey and anyone with a share holding in FullTilt.
  2. I have no idea what has happened as I have been away from the computer for a few weeks. But I'd just like to say (and maybe I shouldn't because of my blind knowledge!) that Steve always constructs interesting topics and posts, and in the brief moments I have spoke to him on IM he has always been polite and helpful.20$ on FT did we agree Steve? K thanks.
  3. Betfair used to be part of the same network William Hill and others use (Crypto if I remember correctly). They separated a year or so ago now but I don't get on with their new software, when they launched solo they didn't allow you to resize windows and other silly things. They have a strong customer relation department, and it is good if you want to place sports bets as well. But I never digged the poker there.

  5. Sam (makeyourself) and I will be out there from 20th October for some amount of time, although it is my first trip I've hear the MGM and Bellagio are good rooms. Shame you can't stay over on the Sunday as there is a 500$ WPT closing event at the Bellagio.
  6. Self ban from sites that have blackjack / casino games.Play on sites that are only poker based (tilt etc).
  7. lol sorry, in two mtt's wanted to concentrate. Thanks for the 30cents
  8. I think the point Steve is making is not that he has 'had a bad run' or is stuck any money but more the fact that mentally a step down is the right thing for him at the moment. If you are good at poker then it is a great way to make a living and enjoy the finer things in life, but if it results in your mentally having to deal with a lot at a certain level and thus no longer enjoying life as much as you should then a step down is certainly on the cards. You don't play poker to be at the highest levels you can, you play poker to bring you joy in the rest of your life. If this means taking a step
  9. That is me and he is referring to me being stuck 350-400 from flips.
  10. LOL That's what pocket two's do to me....they make me crazy.Sigh.
  11. Played: 297Profit: $1,873Got gold status now, I could get Iron but it is unlikely. How is everyone else doing?
  12. Well I busted just before the dinner break.Got a pretty shitty table draw stuch in between Allan Cunningham and Jeff Madsen, as well as a stupidly bright spot light in my face all day. Then Mike Matusow and Hellmuth starting chewiing my tables ear off about something or another.Pretty much my tourney went like this:QQ < AQ1010 < A2Huge hand with Allan which I prob should have called where i laid down Jacks on a 9 high flop. He showed 10's.JJ > AQ66 < A2 and outWas playing fairly solid, but no way near what I'd like. Just failed to hold the shots i needed to hold.GG and GL DN for tom
  13. GL DNI am playing on day 1b so will hopefully see you on day 2.
  14. Back track: I am starting to see folding actually may hold a slight edge over calling in the long run. Someone work the math out? I got half way and got bored.But.... the satelite example has nothing to do with it as it doesn't factor in different payouts for different finishes. Thats my only argument for a call, you will set yourself up to win easier by calling but risk not winning a dime.
  15. :icon_clap: :icon_clap: :icon_clap: :qh :icon_clap:   :club: And thanks
  16. As said I will be Event 1 Will be heading down to see the action tomorrow afternoon and get a feel for the place, I've never been there despite it being my daily stomping ground! GL FCP'ers who are playing.
  17. Level? Are you really saying you'd fold AA to a shove in that spot 4 handed with 11 bb's?I agree marginal stuff like AQ etc.
  18. I think your example is a little extreme sir. The big stack is shoving all aces, anything like J10, any two broadway cards and any pair.If he has AK in a bad shape I think he'd more than likely raise pre than shove.
  19. Why would you play high stakes after winning 20 mil when you can, say, only currently beat 1/2nl.I understand that you couldn't ever play 1/2nl seriously after such a large cash, but play 'high limits' is going to be -EV in a huge way.Learn the game, progress, repeat.Clearly would probably play less cash and just travel around play a handful of 10k events a year whilst also setting up a business.
  20. lol rather than the amount of money I have won, I'll just type I am '+a trip to vegas' As for targets: Played: 200Profit: #1,003Move up: FailIron man: on track for 'Iron Man'So literally running bang on target for hitting 3k profit over 600 sngs'.All though at on point this month I was +$1900
  21. Call, call river.Or raise river if you think you are good, which you are 90% of the time.
