  1. I must pay homage to this year's WSOP champion and his famous reaction to flopping the nut flush and getting allin against Andy Black:"PASS THA' SUGAH!"I suggest using this when you turn up a big hand or when you actually are requesting somebody to pass you the sugar, but in the same excited voice.
  2. I've taken the road less travelled in my picks, and I'll either look like an idiot or a genius! Or just an idiot.Le over BrunsonNegreanu over IveyNegreanu over Le.Sort of that "If I play 72 all the time and i hit a 772 flop, no one will know!" strategy.
  3. I think I've heard the quote from a few pros that if they were to try to pick a winner for a smallish tournament before it started they would look to the maniac as the guy with the best chance to win because if he gets lucky he's going to have a lot of chips. I think this small pot strategy is the 10k buyin version of this strat. Pros like Negreanu saw that players were being very tight and wary of being outplayed in tournaments so they proceeded to take advantage and steal lots of small pots. I think this strat is quite viable in smaller home tournies if the structure caters to it, but I t
  4. I'm also interested, not a regular so I'll have to trust whoever runs this thing, but I'll need to transfer via FCP. How does one transfer from FCP to pokerroom though?
  5. I'm Nash and I can tell you that there's a regular 1/2 near Belmont Univ. that you can find out about on homepokergames.com, long list but I aint looking it up again. I have also heard rumors bout some larger games in the city with 10-20 tables, but I don't have specifics. I wouldn't get too excited about the prospects, most of the games stay pretty quiet in their advertising so if you look in the obvious places you won't find them. Just go to Tunica, there's enough donkeys there for everyone.
  6. Brilliant! my points that have been sitting and accumulating will not have gone to waste. My querie is to all fcp members and admin concerning the pricing of the store. Please correct me if I'm wrong but I believe there was to be a 1pt=1cent corrolation to determine the pricing, so that 100 points would equal $1 in relation to the real cost of items.I have compared the requested points for almost every item in the fcp store to their identical version at flopgear.com and have found that this ratio didn't hold. For instance, all but one of the hats in the FCP store are listed at 2,524 points,
  7. I have to say that the entire fiasco, and it is a fiasco, surrounding the stacked release has been quite unprofessional. For all of the advertising they have done to hype up the game they can't seem to get a product out. The stacked site is quite humorous in that it has so much info as to how great the game is except for the fact that you can't buy it or play it. Maybe during the next period of time after the release is delayed they will start selling Stacked merchandise so people can actually buy something!
  8. This practice is usually kosher in my cash games and tourneys but I understand why it might be less acceptable in tourneys. Cash games are their own animal and are subject to the rules of the house, thought they must be proclaimed before being enforced in this scenario. I think it should be legal in a heads up situation during any part of the hand, because as long as it doesn't slow the game down too much, its a useful tool for some.
  9. According to Amazon and MTV Stacked is expected to be releasted February 28th, tomorrow, but I haven't found anything atvertising its release date as that elsewhere. In any case, is it possible that the release will be delayed yet again? I hope not. Thoughts...
  10. Here's a more serious and hopefully helpful response.I think the whole e-mail to reserve is a great idea and once played in a cash game like it, worked well. One thing you might do is to send out an email to all the peeps on your list when the game has filled up, so that you don't get emails. You may or may not provide the names of those playing depending on the class of players (i.e., are reserved players going to get calls asking for their seats). You could also add a footnote that anybody emailing from that point forward will be waitlisted and contacted if there's an opening, but unless
  11. Wrong!Good lord you completely overlooked the wording of the riddleQuestion: You are in a room with three light switches. Waaay down the hall is a light bulb that one of these switches controls. You can't see the other room or the light from the other room from the room you are in.Easily enough, just turn two of the light switches on. Wait a while, and then turn one of them off, then quickly enter the room. One light will be on, one off, and one off but still hot.Light bulb in the question is singular, there is only one light! You can feel whether it was hot but it won't matter. I'm still wo
  12. Aggressive. Not once in your instructions do you use this word. The first and arguably greatest book on NLHE is the Super System: A course in Power poker.I see many poor and loosing players and their greatest problems revolve around their choices of times to be aggressive and passive. I think that aggression must be incorporated in any regimen of learning for a new or poor player. In response to rule #5, I also believe this is flawed because your understanding of variance is flawed. I play a good deal of pot limit omaha, a game where variance is the name of the game. The reason it that it i
  13. Though your allin here is undoubtedly correct 100%, there is something to be said for waiting for a safe turn card when deep stacked. if each of you had 200 starting this hand I believe just calling on the flop might be best. If you call on the flop there will be 80 in there on the turn. If either player bets on a safe card for your str8 you can simply raise allin and they will be a much bigger underdog to you instead of the flop. Also, you put them to a decision, $100 or so, to call when they are a 2-1 or greater underdog. This proposition is most favorable, and also keeps you from inves
  14. If you had played this hand any way different it would be better. QQ84 under the gun, the only hand you can make that's worthwhile is three queens, and even when you make it there may be trouble, like there was here. Making a big laydown here after all the bets (though incorrect) that you dumped in the pot already would be silly, just call and if you win be happy that your miserable hand survived your horrid line.
  15. Despite its shear unbelievability, I indeed did cash out 1500 from my final B-roll and still had 100 left in there for the occasional Negreanu Open. The primary reason for wanting to cash out was that the deposit bonus was used up. I found that I could play on Hollywood Poker in the exact same cash games ( by way of the pokerroom/FCP/Hollywood network) against the same players who I was so successful against before. In addition I could reap their deposit bonus. I will say that after all the hassle Bob, "FCPinfo", came through and made sure I got my money in the fastest way he could ensure.
  16. You play to much poker when your mother is nagging you about your ex, so you tell her that you're gay just so you can execute the conversational allin.
  17. Alright, hackers, gimme your best shot. This is why I bought a macintosh!

I did my best to support FCP, being Daniel's site, but from my experience, the management of this poker room is atrocious. My qualms exist in the realm of withdrawals. After depositing $100 on 1/8 I turned the roll into just over 1500 I attempted successfully to withdraw $500 through nexum. That withdrawal arrived the next day after I completed the very extensive ID verification process. On 1/21 I requested to withdraw the remainder of the account, $1394 through nexum, just like the last time. I kept close track of the deposit's progress as the last one had arrived so quickly but as of 2/
  19. I agree that pushing here is the optimum play. The K is your dream card other than a clean str8 card because if he's holding AJ or QJ then you have a good chance of taking him off it. If he goes allin I actually disagree that you have the odds to call, atleast in a cash game. With 9 clubs and 6 non-club deuces and sixes, your 15 outs will win you the hand on the river just less than a third of the time. If he goes allin you would have to call 77 to win 181. Somebody please correct me if I'm wrong but you would need the pot to be at least 241 to continue in this spot. If he bets less tha
  20. well, with a better player, you would have trouble holding on to this hand on the turn. A better player would probs not baby bet the draw on the flop giving you the chance to raise more. He'll probably also call any unraised bet on the flop. When the flush comes a good player will bet when out of position, assumin you have two pair or better and are on the boat draw. This donkey played horribly and rightfully lost. But a better player would have forced you to lay down your hand on the turn.
  21. I love these hands that have so many ways to win. I think that the worst case scenario would be for you to have to get it in with the worst on the turn. Position helps you here, and I favor a check on the turn, where you are the weakest. Being a very aggressive player he might have been going for the check raise with the 9Q, putting you in a tough spot. You do have 18 outs ( 16 that don't make the flush where you have the str8). Granted you know some of these are dead, atleast two (an 8 and a 9). Nevertheless, if you check on the turn you 1. get to draw from over a third of the deck for
  22. No Christian bashing, here, as I am a Christian myself, though you're sense of martyrism as a Christian in America is less than convincing. As to the point that being a Christian will cause much suffering from the world- many would argue, somewhat convincingly, the exact opposite, that Christians have caused much suffering themselves. If you are referring to the socalled "war on Christmas," I think you would be joining many in taking a pointedly polarized position on a series of instances in which Christian themes have not been spotlighted during the holiday season in such settings."If you a
  23. Since the converter Jayson gave doesn't work for FCP PLO, I'm gonna just summarize the hand.FCP: PLO $1-1$I started the hand with $93, the Blinds each had about $100I had K K 9 3 in 2 off the cutoff and calledthere had been a couple early limpersthe CO and Button called and the blinds checked throughFlop came: 5 5 K Both blinds check as do the limpers and myself and we see a turn.7 The SB blind bets out $5 and is called by the BB, I also call.River: 2 The SB once again bets out $5 and is raised to $37 by the BB.What action for me?
  24. The only possible argument for checking your nuts here is hoping someone with the jack high flush bets so you can call and hopefully have him bet hard on the turn to get you off your perceived boat draw. The problem of course is unless another aggressive player holds exactly the jack high flush this ideal scenario doesn't play out. So bet. Probably not the size of the pot, maybe a smaller lead even than 5. Maybe disguised as a blocker bet for a set wanting to see a cheap turn, this could get weaker flushes to give you action. Good luck coming back.
  25. That is when I have generally been making my decisions to go all the way with a hand. I make a preflop raise enough so that if I get a couple callers I will be able to get most all my money in the flop if it is favorable. I guess that is sortof the theoretical strength of this strategy: players will likely underrate your holdings if you move in on the flop because you are a shortstack and could just be pushing a big pair from preflop. I have laid down my hands a number of times on the flop when it has been bad for my hand when a player has potted into me or there are many opponents. I almo
