  1. UMMM Josh won and Jesus placed second.
  2. where is Slansky when you really need him.
  3. Umm, dude, I hate to be the bearer of bad news but, had you checked back in this situation instead of making the first bet, you would not have lost that money to the rake.
  4. If Phil Hellmuth folds in the forest, and there is no one around to here him, is he still complaining?
  5. Perhaps the smartest post I have ever read on this website. It is not an accident that Phil has won those nine bracelets. He is one of the top five no limit tourney players in the world and is a force to rekon with at all tourneys that he is registered in. I also think that you may want to try sitting with Phil at a table before you critize his play. Remember--YOU ARE WATCHING TELEVISION!!! I sat with Phil at the Five Diamond WPT event in Vegas and, not only is he an engaging personality at the table, he is a brilliant player and an artful tactician. It was a thrill to play with him and,

  7. Thanks for all the posts. In the end, I believe that I made a bad play here and the right play was to move-in with the KKs. I agree that a "streak" should not play into one's decision making, but it is, nonetheless, fun to be on one. Thanks again for all the posts and for your time.
  8. Agree. But, from an "EV" perspective was it really the right move. I was getting great value from a pot-odds perspective and, had I tripled my chip stack, I would have been the favorite for the $8,000 or so first prize. Is it worth sacrificing a few hundred dollars for the opportunity to make approximately 25x more? I knew that by making the play I was making I would have a minimal chance of taking the first prize. And, while I agree that it was relatively "loose" (to be politically correct) to move all in with a drawing hand in that stage of the tourney, was it a worse playto move all-i
  9. Hoyt Corkins is playing right now in the 5-10 nl game with Steve Brecher.
  10. I am a huge fan of Full Tilt's ring games, but not a huge fan of the SNG's (in my opinion you cannot beat Pokerstars when it comes to SNG's). I have made an absolute killing playing John D'Agostino's 2-4 NL table and try to play there now about 8 hours a week. I also enjoy getting involved in the 5-10 nl game when Matasow and Quietlion are in the room. If you are new to the game I highly recommend spending some time watching some of the pros play in these ring games--while I consider myself to be a little above average as a player, by watching the pros play, I have learned some new techniq
  11. I was playing today in a $140 buy in, 120 person tourney at the Hard Rock Hotel and Casino in Tampa, Florida. This tourney pays the top 12 players. I was in 8th place with $28,000 in chips (the blinds were $3000-$6,000 and there were 13 players left [including me]). I was two seats right of button and was dealt pocket KK. Player UTG goes all-in with $36,000. Player to my right calls all-in with approximately $33,000. Obviously, as long as this is not a split pot, if I fold here I will most definately make the money and get at least $260. If I call, I may triple up my stack and be in gre
  12. thanks for supporting all of us that are representing FCP in the main event. Posters like this friggin idiot are exactly why I rarely participate in this site. But hey man, keep posting--maybe one day your mom will let you play in the WSOP yourself and you can quit ragging on the people from this site who are good enough to win a seat in this event. Props to all who are going out these for this tourney and represent well!
  13. I will be there. I am planning on going out the 8th and am staying at the Bellagio. If you want a room there , private message me and I will contact Penny or Collette at the Poker Room to try to set you up with a good deal. I am planning on playing in 2-3 events plus the main event. I will be the tall, blonde, Raymer-bellied dufuss decked out in PartyPoker crap because I promised I would (even though I only play that site once a month at the most). Jay--I will p.m. you my cell if you want to get together out there.
  14. Ummm.... You might want to try www.billfillmaff.comJust a hunch
  15. thanks a lot for this information. If you type "New York City Poker" into a search engine you get dogshit! Thanks so much for the information and maybe I will run into one of you there!
  16. Do you have any idea about where it is located? I am going to NYC for a wedding this weekend and hope to play. Thanks a bunch (I have been unable to find anything online, but will keep looking)
  17. Does anyone know of a good poker room in NYC (preferably Manhatten) that has some NL action (either tourney or ring game)? Please feel free to resond privately. Thanks!
  18. Thanks buddy--now I know what I will tell the Florida Bar if I fall asleep in the middle of trial!
  19. Last night, on Party Poker, I finished in the top 4 to earn a seat in the WSOP Main Event. I started off in the $11.00 satellite and eventually won another satellite to get into the $320 event. There were about 220 players in the event and four seats were awarded (plus 10 nights accomadations and $1,500 ) and the other five players from the final table received varying amounts of cash. I finished in 2nd place!! We finished at 5:30 this morning (E.S.T.) and now I am off to Orlando for a trial--think my client would be partially upset that her lawyer was playing poker until 5:30 the night be
  20. This is a transcript (edited to remove all the idiotic comments from observers) from the 25-50 NL game I was playing on FTP with Matasow this afternoon (Brodie and Gvin Smith were playing too in the room). I pissed myself a couple times with his rants--here is a small example.CheckMyTilt (Observer): cant believe Tuan Le won againMike Matusow: tuans my hereoCheckMyTilt (Observer): that was a huge prize for WPTjonnycard (Observer): YOU LIKE TUAN?Mike Matusow: ay hes funny critters (Observer): likes him for dinnerMike Matusow: hes aspook print ittg007ref (Observer): Mike, read about your case an
  21. In my opinion, if you are an experienced player, neither book will help you that much. However, Slansky's Tournament Poker for Advanced Players is a must read--I do not agree with his NL strategy (and, from my reading his book, I do not think he does either), but the other information is extremely helpful and, surprisingly, not simply mathematical in nature. Super System 2 is also a must read, especially Harman's Limit Poker section.I do not know about the rest of you, but I have found that the only way to learn how to play winning NL poker is by playing winning NL poker. If you are playing
