  1. A few things here.1) Just the fact that you were naive enough to announce you have two accounts tells me you may not be ready for turning pro. You need to take that money out of both accounts and create a third account if you like because you could be in trouble.2) I'm guessing why he asked if you've gone broke and bounced back, is because there's a great chance you will go broke. And if you do it's not the end of the poker world, its how you handle going broke that will tell if you can handle the ups and downs of this game3) I would have thought you were a 15 year old wild aggressive player
  2. I play them at Bugsysclub.com where you start out with 5K in chips. I never rebuy. I do my best to build a decent stack and then I always add on. If I get eliminated before I make it to the first break I find another game. This way it doesn't cost me an arm and a leg unless I'm doing well.
  3. In order to win an 800 man tournament with blinds at a really slow level like the WSOP, you cant suck at poker. He wasn't great and he got really lucky, like any other person who will ever with the WSOP will get in the future. But he made an amazing call with3/3 against Dutch Boyd when he thought he was ahead after the flop, and they showed him laying down top pair before, so he's not a total calling station. Plus he pulled off a great bluff. He's not one of the best there is, but he's probably better than you or me.But I don't see where he created this buzz about poker. I think the hole
  4. I read somewhere once where Negreanu said Evelyn Ng cant be a great player because she's not comfortable playing some hands that great players play. Evelyn Ng is a friend of his. So he's not afraid to speak his mind even if its not all that complimentary about a friend. But I do agree in general that friends of people aren't the most objective people about other friends. And I also agree you have a right to speak in a public forum. Though I think Annie Duke probably isn't half the player Harmon is. But just from watching her on HSP...not many players are.
  5. In another circumstance someone made a comment about Jennifer and several other women forming an alliance. Right away he pops on saying you don't know Jennifer if you think that. Forget about Evelyn I guess he just threw her right under the bus. But Jeniifer is morally perfect and seems to have no flaws. That someone was me. To be fair, I was talking about Survivor, which is a lot different from life. I personally think Negreanu would throw his wife, dog, and mother under the bus in Survivor if it means he would win. But that doesn't mean anything in real life, it just means he's competit
  6. I agree switching is done only when it's necessary. And that's when you know you're 4/5 of an alliance. Stephanie switched in her 2nd season and she only got 1 vote. It was an unecessary switch. But when Twila and LI Rob did it, it changed the game so they could get to the final two. Personally, I think you'd do pretty well if no one knew who you were in Survivor, but I would hope you're not too overconfident.
  7. I'm dying to know what Black had that hand! But the difference here is that at the end of the hand you WOULD know what he had. After the hand is over you would see the hole cards, just not during.
  8. I want to see the cards, just after the hand is over.
  9. When I worked for Cardplayer I suggested something like this. Have one of us watch a pro and after the hand was over he/she would tell us the hand he had. I would write down everything he did preflop. I would stand far enough away so the table would not be bothered. I think that DVD is a good idea though. I think an online pro offers what you suggest.
  10. Do have like a red phone that goes off everytime I post so you can make an immature very unwitty response? I think I'm going to ignore you from now on. The funny thing is, I know you cant ignore me.
  11. I agree with you though it gets annoying when the announcers are rooting for or favoring a certain team. You are lucky to have Marv Albert do the Knicks games though he is good. The Knicks fired Marv Albert because he wasn't rooting for the Knicks during his broadcasts. He is now announcing with the Nets.
  12. I used to be a TV reporter and used to report on the Jets and Islanders regularly. I never would ever consider saying we or us in any of my reports (especially since I was a Rangers fan). Furthermore, I find it incredibly annoying when I hear someone younger than 75 years old rooting for a team. I gave a pass to Phil Rizzuto, and Harry Carey (not his son in Atlanta!) but that's about it. While NY is much better than most, it still has its share of homers, Keith Hernandez, John Sterling, John Davidson (even though he's gone now) and basically anyone reporting for MSG since Dolan will fire t
  13. When I first started watching poker, I watched to learn. Now there's not much to learn considering all they show is big hands normally. But I understand the entertainment value. I think a good idea would be not to show the players hole cards that are in the hand until after the hand is over. And then show it. That way you can try to guess their hand and see if you were right.
  14. Didn't Negreanu say on HSP2 that people told him he blinked a lot when he was bluffing? I kinda remember that. To be honest, if I was playing against anyone that has a blog or writes an article about how they play, I would always assume they put it out there for a reason.
  15. That will get you to the final two where you will lose 6-1! But unfortunately that's not a bad strategy
  16. This would be my strategy as well. I read before Arias won that the average age of victory was 34 years old. I think you would have several advantages1) Being a skinny guy you'd be able to hold your own in team challenges to be a plus, yet not the threat when the merge hits2) You obviously have the desire to win. I think very few have the burning desire to win when they get on the show. Many are just happy to play a game filled with "intergrity" I call these people jury members3) You know the game well...though of course there are always hidden obstacles.I think the alliance of five is gr
  17. I'm just curious about two things here. First off why did you raise to $9 after it was already raised. You say he was a donk, and 8's are the type of hand where if you dont flop top Quads you could be in trouble! I deeply subscribe to the see the flop for cheap on mid PP. I dont want to win the pot right there in cash games because I want the chance to hit the setAlso, I know you said it was a mistake, but what made you min raise? I couldn't get away faster if I was him.
  18. That's true...didn't think of that. But I just think when he's at the table he's working. Though I did hear him say some funny jokes twice that made me laugh. One of the funnier things that was said was when three 2's were on board and Juanda bet the river. The guy called and Juanda says, "I have a flush." The guy shows a small PP (I think 4's) and Negreanu says, "A frush? Don't you see the full house?" I think you needed to hear the tone there.
  19. OK, I dont want to get into a flame war...but to be honest, this thread is about the least personality. Lets look at Negreanu. He can be nice, funny, helpful, cocky, mean, and sour.Lets look at Alan Cunnigham. He can be nice, quiet...that's it.Now lets look at Hellmuth: Insanely Boring! So Negreanu has six, Cunningham has two but Hellmuth only has 1 personality. So science proves Hellmuth has the least personailty in poker Claps coming for me.
  20. As far as AC not talking to you at the WSOP, thats just his shyness. Its not like he's a close buddy of mine or anything, but I can assure you that he is a genuine good guy. Also, if you ever want to talk to him, you will have to be the one to initiate the conversation. Otherwise, he will just sit there like a statue, lol.Time for one more rough night out before getting back to reality.Cheers,TCTCI never thought anything of it that Cunningham didn't speak to me at the WSOP. I mean it's not like I ever said hi to him either. I never got that btw. How that would be entirley one persons fau
  21. Normally these short little quips are anything but funny. Their played. But the homosexual quip is definitely the exception. It made me smirk out loud.
  22. ...plus it bugs the crap out of me when somebody says raise when they mean bet (or I suppose there could be a bet that wasn't mentioned...stupid as well)I love when my friends retell their poker stories. "So I was in the BB and it got raised to me. I had A/K and I called. Flop comes A/7/4 unsuited and I raised..." Before the next word can come out I always say, "Bet."
