he was playing sheriff with 4,900 chips on day 1.i don't think too many people are going to want to tangle with daniel post-flop especially - with that many chips - as the money bubble approaches.i mean the money is like the final 800 but people are dropping fast and since many qualified via satellite - 14k is all profit - a fair sum for many.

losing a million in 21 hours? did i miss something here? -
i just can't argue with that

the rio buffet is overrated IMO - more quantity than quality1) the aladdin2) bellagio 3) paris4) wynntop 4 by a WIDE margin - although wynn is a bit small

good points theresa,it is a reasonable price if u are by yourself and NEVER in your room - but there is a definite low-life vibe and the prostitute/normal girl ratio is staggeringi mean, i know there are girls working everywhere but the imperial palace is crazy

i stayed there last week... and this is my take....POSITIVE POINTS ABOUT THE "IMPERIAL PALACE..."1) great location....end of "positive points"NEGATIVE POINTS....1) everything elseseriously my friend... avoid this place at all costs. - your wife will NOT be impressed- the rooms are not filthy but definitely not what i would call clean- the place is old and run-down- has a seriously bad vibe that i can't quite put my finger on but is dark, gloomy and depressing- the food sucks - the service sucks- the wake-up calls consist of some azzhole banging on your door at approx. the time you requested- i

even though things didn't go daniel's way, he has to be happy about the result in some way.poker is the real winner here - i know that may sound cliche and a little silly but it's true and daniel is one of the reasons this event happened the way it did. (maybe the main reason)imagine doyle and ivey going heads-up for this title....the man who many consider to be the best in the world...against the man who many consider to be the best of ALL-TIME.this would literally overshadow the main event and what it would do for their careers and profile (and legacy) cannot be overstated.it would be like d

i didn't like sebok at first but he's actually pretty funny if you give him a chance.gavin smith is perfect for the show as was evident even when he was a guest.scott huff is cool and i think it's good to have someone who is NOT a pro - it's helps us relate to it.it might be cool for them to bring back mike in small doses since a lot of people enjoyed him on the show.and maybe it's a bit ironic but my favorite circuit episode ever was the "barry g episode"i haven't heard the show as much lately but i remember that one - i could listen to barry talk all day about pretty much anything.
-
if daniel wins, you can bet they will show it - and people will watch.they had no intention of showing pot-limit hold'em last year - that was until johnny chan was playing the unabomber heads up for the bracelet - and won.granted it was still hold 'em but "starpower" trumps all.am i right or am i right?

thanks azzhole - for making me laugh and almost spit water all over my keyboard.

sahara has 3 tourneys a day for like $40 and the stratosphere has maybe 2 a day for like $30 - not a lot of money and the prize pools are not exactly huge (maybe a couple grand) but they are fun and the biggest donkfests i've ever witnessed. and the sahara tournament offers free sandwiches. :)the mirage is also great for poker and the buy-ins are higher although not extremely high.

pokerwire.comyou can choose your tournament

well at least sheikhan got to show a bluff.at least he "FOOLED" everyone.i guess he can tell all his buddies that he "OUTPLAYED" negreanu with a "SICK BLUFF" on the river.errrr......... maybe not.of course DN probably won't hear sheikhan's jokes because he's too busy being the chip leader.

How Much Do Pros Get From Poker Sites?
ksean9999 replied to greatwhite's topic in General Poker Forum
FINALLY, a relevant post. ty. -
i guess the speed factor is a good point - although that would be more a function of practice and talent rather than advanced math theories (IMO)and the guys i was referring to are REAL college students at a REAL college taking REAL courses - national math contest type of guys. not your average drunk-***, undeclared major, community college hacks.
-
to say math is OVER-rated in poker is an understatement.poker players run their mouths about math to make themselves feel more important and to make their profession seem more noble.i'm sure we've all criticized opponents for making a seemingly mindless play after they suck out on us. they often reply with some garbage about "pot odds." if you dispute the pot odds with them, they often reply, "hey buddy, i'm a math major."total BS in most cases and any math you will ever need in poker is barely beyond the third grade level - if that. there are many WORLD-CLASS poker players who probably haven'

the guy is offering a potential money-making opportunity to a fellow fcp'er.if you say this is spam, you are a loser. he/she is not selling anything, he is offering an opportunity that someone will probably enjoy.is it for me?..... no.but for someone else?... maybe.networking is the finest benefit of ANY forum.calling this spam just because you are miserable and want to talk only deters others from offering other things.flamers should remember that no one cares what you think and just because you are free to speak your mind behind the security of your keyboard, doesn't mean you have to burden

good point. i was going to mention that...now i don't have to.and another thing... a lot of the fields that chan conquered were not that small.
-
the record will absolutely fall. it's not even a question. yes the fields are huge but there are so many events each year and due to the increased attention garnered by a WSOP bracelet, pros are more apt to make a stronger effort to play as many events as possible.and let's not forget... we're not talking tennis here - we're not speculating about federer passing sampras' record of 14 slams, where he could get injured for a year and be thrown off pace. i mean if he doesn't have the record by 28,29,30 at the latest, he probably won't get it. doyle was like 70 last year when he won his 10th brace

i figured it was the wrong forum but i couldnt find any movie forum. maybe tv wouldve been better.and youre right it does come out next week. looks like i shi-t the bed on this one.

did anyone see the da vinci code this weekend? if so how was it?
-
nobody thought to ask because everybody already knows. the chip counts are posted on cardplayer.com and many other places. DW was one of the chip leaders with over 800,000 and busted himself after investing around 200,000. if he was short-stacked or totally pot-committed, this would be different. but he busted himself against one of the few people who had enough chips to bust him when he could've well afforeded to fold - this is the whole point.
-
actually i agree with you. i was being nice before. but it was a donkey play for sure that i would expect to see on celebrity poker.this is so elementary, they teach you how to play this situation on fox's "learn poker from the pros."if i made that play on TV, mike sexton would tear me a new one with his commentary.for some reason, people justify it by saying, "well he won 3.5 at the wsop, what did you win?" totally not the point. he made a horrible play that many of us would've routinely avoided.
-
even if he was a 55/45 favorite - there was no reason to "CALL" his entire stack against one of the few people with enough chips to bust him.keep in mind, he didn't make a "move," he "called." even if the other guy had aq, it would still be a weak play IMO. is it the worst play ever? no but a LOT of other players (even amateurs) make that laydown. keep in mind that helmuth got away from AK at the wsop even after the flop hit him.
-
you make a strong point. i guess what i would like to see is a table full of pros and maybe a couple of amateurs (which very well may happen).it's nice to see some random guy win 3 million and it promotes the game but i also think that final tables chalk-full of poker "stars" is good tv and ALSO promotes the game - and also further validates poker as a skill. here's the final table i would like to see:1) chan - i think some people have forgotten how scary-talented the guy is.2) helmuth - same reason as chan and he's also hilarious.3) doyle - because he's doyle 4) freddy deeb - seems like a coo
