  1. A few signs you play too much poker or think about it too much:* When playing online alone in your living room, you wear sunglasses so no one can see your eyes.* When your wife/girlfriend brings you a beer during a football game, you give her a dollar.* Friends call and tell you to meet them at a club for drinks and such, and you tell them no, because you won't get your check until Monday and as such, you are shortstacked.* You make a particular move in a limit game and then remember, "Crap, Smash wouldn't have done that."* You're playing in a home game and the board shows a made straight and
  2. He was just trying to look cool in glasses like Williamson.
  3. Don't worry about how many people are entered. You can only play the other 8 at your table. Focus on that.
  4. You want to raise in later positions after someone who stayed in the hand has already hit their draw or is so close to it that they would have pot odds to call you when you raise later?
  5. What are their poker rates and what kind of hours do you have to log to get them?I played in a tournament there recently for the first time and liked their room quite a bit.
  6. This month, I'm up 204 BB. I'm going to withdraw the money and invest it in the proper retirement account, and before long, I'm going to be fully vested. Now, what exactly that $8.16 is going to fund - a vacation on the South Coast of France, or a blimp trip around the world, or an open keg party at the North Pole - I haven't quite decided.
  7. Sketchy said there would be no live updates today because he couldn't have a laptop at the WPT Final Table taping. He said he'd do a report after everything was complete.
  8. I don't like haikusThis thread is freaking stupidBut yet I postedor ...I have pocket tensYou have a four two off suitYou win I kill you
  9. Danny runs another away from the roost ...Mike Liras is eliminated in 9th position. He moves all-in from the small blind for about 300,000. Daniel says he would never call if it wasn't for the fact he was playing in a "super-satellite." He calls with 55 and Mike shows A9c. The flop is king high. The 5 on the turn seals the deal. Mike takes home $96,080.8 handed now. We have 2 more to eliminate before we break for the day.
  10. You have to remember that even Raymer was playing 100/200 before he stumbled into $5 million.
  11. So in a couple days, are you going to post yet another thread wondering where this post went?
  12. I don't know that there's much you can do about that really, except for using the extra time you're given to assess your hand, the rest of the table, and your play. In theory, if you are a smarter poker player than your opponents, the extra time should benefit you more than it does them.Whatever you do, don't be That Guy that types :ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZzevery time there is a pause. That's worse.
  13. If that's the case, can I assume you wouldn't complete with any 2 suited cards if it's more than 50% to complete (such as a $1 small blind in a $3-$6 game)?I probably would more than I wouldn't, but in cases where the cards are seriously separated and you're not drawing to a nut flush (10-2, 9-3, etc.), I'd have to consider completing or not depending on how the table is playing. At the limits I'm playing at currently, I won't have to worry about the 3-6: $1 blind question for a while. :-)
  14. I think he means complete with any 2 suited cards. I do the same. If it's an unraised pot when it comes to you in the small blind, you're sneaking in suited for half a bet. And it's easy to ditch on the flop if it misses you.
  15. id like to watch howard play. do u happen to know his s/n?On Full Tilt, their screen names are their names, they have customized avatars and tables where one of their pros are playing are highlighted in a different color than the rest.Or so I've heard.
  16. The one with the dancing cat is interesting.
  17. Congrats, Daniel, and best wishes for this and all other ventures. It's an exciting time, I'm sure.Ed
  18. Also 3. Don't belittle online poker and insinuate that it's rigged like everyone else. Good players can win money there... bad ones don't. Simple as that. That'll be enough logic out of you. This is an Internet message board.
  19. I generally play 2-hour sessions the nights I play (not including the occasional tournament), but I don't play every night. So I'd say 10 hours/week.
  20. I think the important point here is that he folded 46 of 50 hands, if your count was right, or 92%, and he made money. A lot? No. But it was only 50 hands. Discipline will pay off in the long run. And on good nights, it will pay off in the short run, too. Thanks for posting this one, Smash. Time to pick off yet another leak in my game that this series pointed out.
  21. Honestly, I thought this one was worse. Seemed slow and dark and didn't hold my attention as much as the first one. I also don't like how Sheriff Buford T. Justice or whoever the hell he is keeps popping up everywhere, without much of a glimpse of how he figures this stuff out - other than the couple minutes you saw him researching online.Character wise, I like Madsen in just about any role, and I think he is doing well. And I think the hit the nail on the head with the Henderson character. Beyond that, I'm not impressed. The bubblegum machines they had sitting around the table with Eddie ear
  22. Raymer still lives in Connecticut as far as I know, so it would make perfect sense for him to be there.I was watching Monday night's ESPN Classic poker hour, it was the first show from the 2002 WSOP. Raymer can be seen in one of the crowd shots hanging out there, as well. I don't even know if he entered the main event that year or not, I'd imagine he did.
  23. If you don't want to talk about it don't... If homeboy wants to talk about NBA here it's his choice. Ever heard of freedom of speech woman!Ever hear of the Off-Topic forum on this site?http://www.fullcontactpoker.com/poker-foru...wforum.php?f=14
