  1. I agree with this 100%. I read the section and she talks like this is the best strategy when you're playing the highest stakes limit games in the world, when these are the DAMN NEAR EXACT strategies that ed miller talks about in his small stakes book. She didn't say anything in that book that anyone who knows anything about lhe didn't know.
  2. wpex is way too tight.you fcpers need to play there.
  3. moneymaker got 16th in the $300 stud event at the wcoop. extremly impressive back to back stud showings.
  4. me too. fwiw, i was at the rio today and saw tj wearing a poker mountain polo. and if anyone who is under 21 is wondering whether or not you get ID'ed to get into the rio just to watch, you don't. i'm only 19 and i've been down there the past few days.
  5. are daniel and TJ cloutier still affiliated with poker mountain? i didn't feel like searching so i'm sorry if this has already been asked.
  6. he probably has already considering that was on rgp about six months ago.
  7. it's not an addiction. apparently.. he got involved with some people he shouldn't have gotten involved with and was in the wrong place at the wrong time. apparently.
  8. I actually think the only place it's done is in nor cal.
  9. the wsop circuit is going to be in vegas next week. i'm sure there will be some pros playing in that.
  10. the beta version of poker tracker omaha keeps stats for omaha/8.
  11. wow, I can't believe no one has talked about dutch boyd's pokerspot situation. I'll try and break it down the best I can.from what I've heard the story goes like this: when Dutch was younger he invented pokerspot.com, which was one of the first online poker sites. to make a long story short, the site failed and dutch spent most, if not all, of the players' money on the site. he says that the company that took the deposits (like neteller) screwed up and he didn't take the money. that's is probably the shortest version of the story, but search through old RGP posts (groups.google.com) and there
  12. umm.. this hand can scoop. if the flop is three cards over a nine, he was most likely going to take this down.
  13. is that a joke? her hair is always greasy and she looks like a hobo.but her laugh is pretty sexy..
  14. i guess i wasn't the only one who was thinking the same thing.
  15. i wouldn't necessarily say she played it horribly. at least she played a hand with scooping possibilities, not just a A3 rag hand. she definately should have raised preflop in a plo8 game. i wouldn't raise in limit, but she should have raised preflop and let it go on the turn. so i wouldn't say she played it horribly. just not too good at least he has a wife that plays poker, that's cool enough. There certainly is a difference between critiquing a person's play and bashing them. Sounds like nopantsdance hasn't read too many of smash's posts to understand that when smash comments on people's pl
  16. i wasn't intending for what i said to be in a hateful tone. i'm sorry if it sounded that way. i'm not really on here much but all the threads i have seen haven't had people flaming other people and this was the first one i have seen like that. it just reminded me of something i would see on rgp. ie someone telling a story that didn't really have anything to do with poker strategy, theory etc. and people would just say how horrible of a poker player the other one is. just kind of caught me off guard, especially for someone who has 2000 posts on a new forum.
  17. you said four words, "she played it horribly". so from what i gathered of what you said, it sounded like you were bashing someone for no apparent reason. remember.. "if you don't have anything nice to say, don't say anything at all."
  18. if you are wanting to play low stakes, i would say you should play o/8. just for the same reason you play limit hold'em to nlhe. you get to play more hands from out of position. this is why i think you are wrong for saying you get a higher variance in omaha hi. with omaha/8 you get to play more hands and the pots get a lot bigger. this is why good players play o/8 above any other game. plus, i find it a lot easier to play o/8 online than omaha hi. maybe this is just me, but i can play 3 or 4 omaha/8 tables (on 2 different sites) but i can only play one or two plo tables. i don't play that muc
  19. i just realized smasharoo has almost 1900 posts on this forum, so he must be right. but you shouldn't bash a guys wife for playing a hand wrong whenever he was just saying it was funny 33 took down the high and quartered the low. more of that and this will def be the new rgp.
